Stanley Zachmann instinctively frowned wanting to refuse, but seeing the girl next to him, the words on the tip of his tongue beca hesitant.
For years, he had been imrsed in scientific research, entirely uninterested in other matters, and hadn’t even bothered to get a driver’s license after all these years.
He was used to taking buses and subways, or at worst walking to the station or scanning a shared bicycle, and he never thought there was anything wrong with his lifestyle before. It felt healthy, and as long as he was happy, he didn’t care about what others thought.
But at this mont, Stanley Zachmann particularly hated himself for not learning to drive. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be awkwardly needing a ride from Hendrik Zachmann.
They had just had a conflict with Hendrik Zachmann.
With his temperant, even if it ant walking ho today, he would disdain to ride in Hendrik’s car.
But Stanley Zachmann couldn’t ignore Nathalie Quinlan.
Hendrik noticed his uncle’s hesitation and smoothly said, "It’s hard to catch a car here, and I have nothing to do, so let give you a ride back."
Hendrik’s handso face was completely sincere.
But standing beside him, Caryn Zachmann did not hide her cold face and mockery at all, and even if she didn’t speak, anyone could see that she looked down on people!
Her raised eyebrows and the corners of her eyes exuded contempt everywhere!
"..." Stanley Zachmann felt as though he had swallowed a fly, unable to swallow it and unable to spit it out, feeling quite uncomfortable inside, just about to speak.
The girl walking behind him lazily said, "No need to trouble, we’ll get a ride back ourselves."
"Here..." Hendrik tried to say sothing else.
Caryn eagerly interrupted him, "Brother, if they don’t want to take our car, let it be, why force them. Let’s go first, after all, they made it clear, from now on we’ll mind our own business, no greeting when we et."
Hendrik frowned hard for a mont, wanted to speak but held back, and subconsciously turned his head to observe Nathalie Quinlan’s reaction, only to find the girl had little reaction. Her white face was indifferent, as if she hadn’t heard Caryn’s words, one hand in her pocket, the other holding her phone, seemingly sending a ssage, her stance relaxed yet restrained, the face under the brim of her hat both eye-catching and mischievous.
Hendrik glanced once more before withdrawing his gaze, his brow furrowing again.
He still thought Nathalie Quinlan’s face was too captivating.
Even glancing once more had him sowhat dazed; if he, himself, could hardly resist, let alone strangers.
Caryn’s worry about Nathalie might not be unfounded.
Nathalie Quinlan, with such a striking face, was also the Top Scholar in the College Entrance Examination and a national representative. If her uncle didn’t manage her, the fa at a young age might overwhelm the young girl’s mind. Nathalie wasn’t in a small place like McKinney; she was in Beijing, where there were families and mbers she couldn’t afford to offend.
If Nathalie ever caused trouble soday that they couldn’t resolve, what should they do?
Why couldn’t her uncle and grandfather understand his concern!
They always felt he was deliberately making trouble because he wanted to ostracize Nathalie.
Hendrik noticed that Stanley Zachmann and Nathalie Quinlan didn’t intend to take his car, so he didn’t insist, holding the car keys, he turned his handso face aside and said to Caryn Zachmann, "Let’s go."
Caryn bypassed Stanley Zachmann without a word, carrying her bag straight toward the Range Rover on the roadside.
Compared to her, Hendrik seed much more polite, politely saying to Stanley Zachmann before leaving, "Uncle, I’ll take Caryn ho first, we’ll be leaving now."
He paused for a mont, then looked at the empty road without a single car and added, "If you and Nathalie can’t get a car, give a phone call, I’ll co back to pick you up."
