"No matter what my mom and Hendrik think, I will always be Nathalie’s brother. I apologize on behalf of my dad."
Stanley himself wasn’t angry with him; he was mainly upset about Leonardy rushing to speak to Nathalie just after she had her stitches done, not at Audrick.
He had genuinely cared for Hendrik, Audrick, and the others in the past.
Seeing his nephew, whom he had loved since childhood, humbly apologizing to him, Stanley’s anger subsided mostly. He helped him up and said, "I know how your dad thinks, but I’m also a father, and I have a daughter. I hope he can understand my choice."
Audrick lifted his head, his alluring peach blossom eyes displaying a mature steadiness for the first ti.
He understood the aning in Stanley’s words, paused briefly, then nodded to show his understanding, "I understand, I get your choice, Uncle."
Stanley silently patted his shoulder.
Audrick didn’t waste any more ti and said to Mr. Zachmann, "Grandpa, I’ll go catch up with Dad first. Please take care of Nathalie."
"Go ahead."
Mr. Zachmann waved his hand, looking weary.
Audrick gave him a deep look, said ’I’m leaving’ to Nathalie, and hurried out.
...
Outside.
Leonardy hadn’t gone far.
Audrick caught up, "Dad!"
Leonardy, walking at the stairway entrance, stopped when he heard him, looking up to see it was him; his eyes seed evasive, as if he was embarrassed to see him, "Why did you co out? Where are your grandpa and the others?"
"Grandpa and the others are still inside, I ca out to check on you."
Because of his celebrity status, Audrick dressed very low-key, wearing a duckbill cap and a mask, only missing his sunglasses; otherwise, he would have been fully equipped.
Seeing his dad looking down and silent, unsure of what he was thinking, he hesitated a mont before speaking softly, "Dad, earlier you..."
Leonardy knew his son chased him out to ask why he spoke for The Gordons earlier. He explained all about how Thomas Gordon had called him multiple tis and his own considerations.
Finally, Leonardy pressed his brow, speaking in a low, deep voice, "...I know I shouldn’t have spoken up. But what The Gordons said also has a certain point. Although your sister didn’t directly participate in this matter, it has sowhat to do with Mateo and Mrs. Gordon reaching this point. Mateo’s dad and I had dealings before, and seeing The Gordons fall to this state, I feel guilty towards them."
Just because The Gordons had dealings with their family, does that an Nathalie should suffer for nothing?
What was he thinking!
Audrick couldn’t quite grasp his thoughts and was just about to speak.
Leonardy already pulled out a bank card from his pocket and handed it to him. His brows and eyes appeared much older, as if his vitality and spirit were all but drained: "Give this to Nathalie."
Audrick looked down in shock, holding the card in his hand, "What’s this?"
Leonardy rubbed his forehead and said quietly, "This bank card contains the dividends from Zachmann Group over the years."
Audrick: "?"
"Didn’t your grandpa ntion the family division a while ago, and brought up the company’s dividends over the years?" Leonardy hesitated and finally gave a brief explanation, "I’ve been working on this for a while; the card has the dividends ant for your uncle and Nathalie over the years, and I added thirty million more. It’s not a lot, but combined with the dividends, it’s enough for your uncle to buy a house and car for Nathalie, and cover her educational expenses..."
