Lowie Wilmar had once asked Nathalie Quinlan if that thing really was as miraculous as claid; after all, he had seen Nathalie casually put the legendary, almost magical dicine into her chewing gum like jelly beans, chewing a couple whenever she was annoyed or had nothing else to do.
"I’m busy, don’t have ti to make so much."
Nathalie had always been sitting with one leg propped up on the chair next to her. She had fair skin, long legs, a slim waist, and was strikingly beautiful, with a red mole on her slender neck that made people want to bite it off!
Lowie carefully stored away the precious bottle of dicine and, upon hearing her words, glanced at her before gritting his teeth, "You’re busy, my ass! I see you’re pretty free, even having ti to play ’little tadpole looking for daddy’."
Nathalie, with utmost seriousness, "I am really busy."
But the casual flicker of her eyes at the end of her speech robbed her words of any convincing power!
"Tch." Lowie couldn’t be bothered to argue with her; it seed as though he had rembered sothing and said, "Right, soone’s looking into you. The investigation from Beijing has reached McKinney; it seems a very prestigious patient wants a consultation with you."
"Not interested."
Nathalie was now more interested in unraveling the mystery of her own identity.
"They’ve co all the way to McKinney. They’re well-prepared and seem to have gathered quite a bit of your information."
Without looking back, Nathalie responded coldly and rcilessly, "Not seeing them. Handle it for ."
Lowie dealt in underground dealings, owning the black market around the McKinney area, extending his power even to Beijing.
It was a twist of fate how she and Lowie t. She had once saved Lowie’s life, and Lowie had done her favors in return.
While their bond was not one of life and death, she absolutely trusted Lowie, who was also one of the few people who knew her true identity.
Lowie agreed without hesitation; ever since this drug appeared on the black market and Nathalie gained fa as a miraculous doctor, he had often done such things, "OK."
"Then I’ll be leaving first."
Having given what she owed and received what she wanted, Nathalie had no desire to stay any longer. She stood up and said, "Call if you need anything."
Seeing her about to leave, Lowie suppressed the reluctance in his eyes, "Got it."
"The Quinlan Family..."
By the ti he rembered to bring up the Quinlan Family’s matters, wanting to ask if she wished to get even with them, Nathalie had already walked far away, so he let it be.
After all, the people of the Quinlan Family were idiots.
They were so proudly treating fish eyes as pearls.
Sohow, they managed to turn a King Bomb into a worthless 123456 with no 7; sooner or later, they will regret it.
After leaving the clinic, Nathalie was in no rush to return ho and hailed a cab on the roadside to shop for so items at Cobblestone Street’s mall.
Aside from her laptop, the only thing in her single-shoulder bag was a change of clothes.
There was traffic control near the mall, and the taxi driver could only take her to the junction and couldn’t drive any further.
"Miss, there’s a control ahead, I can’t get through. You’ll have to walk a bit from here. Is that fine with you?"
"No problem."
Nathalie glanced at the fare on the ter, took out the money for the driver, and got out of the car.
The roads on both sides were close to the river; one would need to cross the bridge to reach the city center’s mall.
Nathalie had only walked a few steps when she heard soone shouting from the left side ahead, "Soone’s fallen into the water!"
There were quite a few people on the road, and imdiately people started to crowd around.
"Oh my god, soone has fallen into the water."
"I just saw a child seem to go down to pick sothing up, and then they slipped."
"Who can swim?"
Soone shouted from among the crowd.
But while there were many onlookers, there were few who could swim.
In the crowd of onlookers, Ghania was with two of her classmates from school. As the accident happened, the girls stood together, craning their necks to look down. The water was flowing rapidly, fearing anyone who saw. One of the girls whispered to her, "Ghania, I rember you signed up for a swimming class over the sumr..."
