Outside, Nathalie Quinlan was unaware that she had been labeled as an ’ordinary person’ by soone and was heading out with her things.
Amadeus Yancey was waiting for her outside.
Out of the corner of his eye, seeing the girl co out, he tucked in his long legs and turned to open the car door.
Nathalie Quinlan had already seen him and was walking towards where the black SUV was parked.
At this mont, her phone in her pocket started to vibrate.
Nathalie Quinlan took out her phone and looked down at it.
It was Stephanie Tanzil calling.
She squinted slightly, one hand in her pocket, the other holding the phone as she answered the call while continuing to walk towards Amadeus Yancey.
"Hello." Her voice was low and slightly hoarse, calm and slow.
Stephanie Tanzil was montarily stunned, took a deep breath, and finally ca to herself, speaking to the girl on the other end, "Nathalie, do you have ti? If you’re available, can we et?"
"Now?"
Nathalie Quinlan looked up to see the tall figure of the man, Amadeus Yancey. Seeing her on the phone, he reached out to take her bag.
Nathalie Quinlan was actually not very comfortable with the idea of handing her things over to others. She pressed her lips together and, after another look at the man’s almost annoyingly handso face, silently passed her single shoulder bag to him.
Then she said softly to him, "It’s Mr. Tanzil’s call."
Nathalie Quinlan’s voice was like a gentle breeze, not very noticeable, even sounding sowhat vague, seemingly quite unnatural.
But Amadeus Yancey heard it clearly, his lips curled slightly as he opened the car door to help her put the bag inside, then closed the car door and opened the passenger door for her, lowering his voice, "Want to get in first?"
Nathalie Quinlan couldn’t help but glance at him again, bent her leg, and got into the car first.
One hand still holding the phone steadily, she spoke to Stephanie Tanzil, "I’m not really available right now, what’s up?"
"Uh..." On the other end, Stephanie Tanzil was clearly a bit hesitant, as if pondering whether to say it over the phone.
Nathalie Quinlan didn’t rush her, reached out to close the car door, her posture very relaxed, voice calm, "How about another day?"
Another day would be too late.
Stephanie Tanzil stopped hesitating and briefly explained over the phone.
It turns out a TV station had created a variety program, but unlike the popular trends, this was an educational variety show introducing national treasures.
This type of variety show didn’t fare well among the multitude of variety shows, had little attention, and couldn’t invite big-na stars.
Because the show’s director had a good private relationship with Stephanie Tanzil and had spent many years preparing this project, after hearing about the challenges the director faced, she rembered that the first episode was an introduction to a Han Dynasty set of chis, which made her think of Nathalie Quinlan.
She wanted to ask if Nathalie Quinlan had ti to be a guest on the variety show.
Nathalie Quinlan quietly listened to her, and after Stephanie Tanzil finished speaking, she politely replied, "Sorry, I probably don’t have ti recently."
"You don’t have ti..." Stephanie Tanzil’s tone held an unavoidable disappointnt, but she put on a brave face and quickly said, "It’s okay, if you don’t have ti, then never mind. I just thought that set of chis is a kind of traditional instrunt, and the variety show is in a live web format, lasting about an hour, so it wouldn’t take too much ti to film. That’s why I asked you."
Promoting traditional instrunts, huh?
Nathalie Quinlan tapped her long fingers on the phone, her lashes slightly drooped, uttered "hmm" as if pondering, then pressed her lips and asked, "Where is the variety show being fild?"
Upon hearing her ask about the filming location, Stephanie Tanzil’s hope reignited, "McKinney."
