Nathalie Quinlan had just blocked Jas Lawrence, and when she thought about the text ssages Jas had sent her before, she looked at Jaycent Kingsley, whose face showed genuine concern.
Nathalie was montarily distracted, but it was only for a brief mont. After a mont, she restrained the faint light in her eyes, put her phone back, and answered vaguely, "I just suddenly want to go in, there’s no reason."
Jaycent wasn’t foolish, otherwise, he wouldn’t have thrived in the financial sector, gaining fa as the young version of the Stock Market’s Buffett.
Although the girl wore a duckbill cap that covered her eyes, Jaycent was close enough to notice her montarily distracted look when he ntioned the First Research Institute of Inderia.
She must have sothing on her mind!
Generally speaking, the First Research Institute is a taboo for the Great Families of Inderia, and they wouldn’t casually ntion it to outsiders.
However, Jaycent also couldn’t explain why; he simply had a particular fondness for Nathalie and was soft-hearted, not even wanting to pursue the matter further: "The First Research Institute of Inderia is very hard to get into. This institute gathers the most advanced technology and resources of Inderia. The Kingsleys Family only gets one spot every three years, and it requires passing an examination. If the person we recomnd doesn’t pass, they can’t get in either. Three years ago, you t Zevaney Kingsley at the banquet; she got into the research institute and specialized in black gunpowder. For the past two years, no one has been able to get in... You’re not from Inderia, so it might be even harder for you to enter."
Such a center of power involving an entire continent surely wouldn’t allow outsiders to enter.
That’s the rule.
"Does it an that people not from Inderia can’t enter?" Nathalie didn’t know this; it was the first ti she had heard of it.
"That’s the principle." Jaycent didn’t want to disappoint her and thought for a mont: "But there are exceptions. I know of soone at the First Research Institute who is not Inderian. He was from the Illegal Zone and ca to Inderia many years ago. Sohow, he participated in the examination, beca the top scorer that year, and naturally entered the research institute... I rember it caused quite a stir back then. However, that person didn’t stay long and left the institute within a year."
Jaycent was recalling and speaking to her at the sa ti, apparently not rembering too clearly.
"During that year at the First Research Institute, it’s said they changed the rules several tis for him; he was an exceptionally gifted person."
"Who?" Nathalie felt a strange sense of wonder but couldn’t pinpoint the exact reason.
Soone from the Illegal Zone...
Jaycent shook his head: "I don’t know. Matters of the First Research Institute are always confidential in Inderia, and I haven’t paid much attention to the institute."
Seeing Nathalie’s thoughtful expression, he smiled: "If you want to know, I’ll ask Zevaney Kingsley for you later. She should know."
Jaycent’s relationship with Zevaney Kingsley was pretty average; if Nathalie weren’t interested in this, he likely wouldn’t reach out to Zevaney even once a year.
Nathalie shook her head, adjusted her duckbill cap, seemingly uninterested: "No need, I was just saying."
Jaycent was driving, glancing at her while doing so.
When he saw that the girl’s expression was indeed indifferent and she didn’t seem determined to know, he pursed his lips and told her: "It’s not impossible for you to get into the First Research Institute. Every three years, the three Great Families each have a recomndation spot, but the Kingsleys Family won’t work for sure. Every year, there are collateral relatives who want to participate in the examination, and this year is no different, the competition is very fierce. They probably have a nominee for the examination internally already..."
