The practical exam will take place the day after the first-round theory exam, giving participants ti to rest and the institute ti to prepare.
So more people stay back to see if they’ve made it to the second round and to check their scores.
It’s not for starting the second round imdiately.
"Alright." Zevaney Kingsley’s face softened slightly, but she still looked rather heavyhearted overall.
*
Because the second-round exam is scheduled for tomorrow.
After viewing her scores, Nathalie Quinlan went back first with Sadam Vinson and the others.
As soon as she reached her accommodation, she received a phone call from Kenzie Nabours.
Nathalie got out of the car, grabbed her bag, and answered with one hand: "Mr. Nabours."
She had beco familiar with Kenzie Nabours during this ti and started calling him Uncle, as she referred to Marcella Davidson as Aunt.
"I heard you passed the first-round exam? And got a perfect score?" The male voice on the phone brimd with joy, clearly pleased for her.
Nathalie entered her place, notified Sadam Vinson and the others, then headed upstairs with her bag.
As she climbed the stairs, she casually replied to Kenzie Nabours: "Yeah, just lucky."
"It’s not just luck that can achieve that."
Since Marcella Davidson had co from The First Research Institute, Kenzie Nabours knew how challenging the assessnts there were.
So he didn’t really buy the luck explanation.
Still, he chuckled and didn’t argue about whether it was luck, instead saying: "Earlier, soone from the institute called to inquire about you. I didn’t say much, just ntioned you study at Tsinghua University."
Nathalie had already returned to her room, casually drew open the curtains, allowing sunlight to stream in brightly through the glass windows.
Back at her desk, she sat down on the chair and replied to Kenzie Nabours: "It’s okay if you tell them. They’ll eventually find out why I ca to Inderia."
"That’s true." Kenzie agreed, after a mont of reflection saying, "Next ti they call, I’ll just tell it like it is."
Nathalie’s eyes held a restrained boldness, and she lightly responded with a nasal tone, "Okay, just tell them the truth."
Then Kenzie told her that her score had shocked the institute’s staff.
Instead of being interested, Nathalie inquired about Marcella Davidson’s health.
Knowing that Marcella had been doing well and that her health indicators were steadily recovering, she discussed the dication with Kenzie and then ended the call.
Just after Nathalie hung up with Kenzie Nabours, another call ca in from an unfamiliar number.
Her slender fingers held the phone, half-closing her eyes to glance at the Inderian number showing on the screen.
She waited a full five seconds before lazily answering, "Hello?"
The voice on the other end paused briefly, seeming to just realize, before hastily speaking: "Hello, Ms. Quinlan, I’m Jas Lawrence who texted you earlier. Did you see my text? It’s like this: the Kingsleys Family wants you to return. What do you think..."
Nathalie didn’t wait for him to finish, coldly pulled the phone away, and hung up directly, blocking the number completely.
Then she tossed the phone on the desk, picked up the hard shell notebook Marcella Davidson had given her, and turned to a question Amadeus Yancey had explained to her yesterday, reviewing it again.
