Now reading: Chapter 52: Ghania Quinlan and the others are in1 from The Unveiling of Secret Queen, a Romance novel by Brother Ling.

The Dean of Discipline was nearly driven mad by the noise of a crowd when the person in question arrived, and imdiately called her over, "You’re here? Co in quickly."

As Nathalie Quinlan closed the door behind her, she saw Emilia Sullivan and Ghania Quinlan, with Ghania holding the arm of a well-dressed lady, tilting her face up and talking to her as if they were closer than mother and daughter, leaving her actual mother, Emilia, out in the cold.

The trio turned their gazes toward her as she entered, their stares hitting her like three sharp darts!

Umm~ Nathalie Quinlan raised an eyebrow, her exquisite face calm and composed with a hint of defiance in the corner of her eye. Pretending not to notice, she walked up to the office desk and asked, "Dean, you were looking for ?"

The Dean of Discipline, having taught for many years and finally encountering a genius, privately favored Nathalie and didn’t want to see a student with potential ruined by trivial issues.

But with so many teachers and parents present, he couldn’t show too much partiality.

He cleared his throat to ease the awkwardness and fixed his shrewd eyes on Nathalie, and asked sternly, "Did you skip class yesterday?"

Nathalie had just started at the school when Jhovany Sullivan had given her a heads-up that her early departure had been discovered by a teacher. With irrefutable evidence, Nathalie had no intention of denying it, nor had she ever considered doing so.

"Yes. I left early due to an urgent matter."

This attitude... It was so nonchalant, it was almost like a provocation!

Suddenly, everyone in the office seed offended.

Her horoom teacher Nancy Sullivan was the first to scoff coldly, her face showing displeasure, "What do you think the school is, so place you can just co and go as you please?"

The Dean of Discipline quickly played the peacemaker, trying to defuse the tension between them, "Mr. Sullivan, don’t be upset just yet, let’s hear what Nathalie has to say. Perhaps there really was an urgent matter?"

He then seriously admonished her, "Nathalie Quinlan, no matter how urgent your issue was, you should have at least notified your teacher before leaving. Leaving school without permission during school hours, if sothing were to happen to you outside, who would bear that responsibility? Your teacher, the school, none can afford that responsibility! I can’t afford it either. Do you understand?"

Nathalie lowered her eyelids, hiding her deep and unruly eyes, and responded with an attitude that was still pretty good, "I understand."

The Dean of Discipline knew she was bright and got the ssage, his expression visibly relaxing, as he promptly turned to Nancy Sullivan saying, "Mr. Sullivan, you see, she already knows she was wrong. Considering she has just transferred here and is not yet familiar with the school’s rules, let’s let this one slide."

Nancy Sullivan’s brows knitted and she opened her mouth to speak.

He raised his hand, cutting her off preemptively, "If she leaves early again without cause and doesn’t ask for leave, there’s no need for Mr. Sullivan to co forward, I will deal with her seriously!"

Nancy Sullivan felt as if her words were stuck in her throat, seeing the Dean’s protection of Nathalie. Although she didn’t like it and felt aggravated, she couldn’t really say anything else.

After all, the school leadership had already said that if Nathalie was late or left early again, she would be dealt with severely. She couldn’t possibly deny them this "face."

She stayed silent, but that didn’t an everyone else was willing to let it go!

The horoom teacher of Class B, Gabriella Cagwin, looked over at Nathalie leisurely and brought up, "Dean, you haven’t yet asked what her urgent matter was that she couldn’t even stay for the opening ceremony."

The Dean of Discipline’s brows furrowed once more; he had originally planned to be lenient, but for so reason, Gabriella Cagwin was insistent on not letting the new transfer student off the hook!
