Mrs. Fisher watched the drama unfold from the side, not lifting a finger simply because she looked down on Nathalie Quinlan, too disdainful to personally handle such a petty character.

After all, with Emilia Sullivan, the foster mother, present, all she had to do was watch.

The director of studies, after a mont of stunned silence, ca back to his senses, knitted his brows, and started negotiating, "Mrs. Quinlan, don’t you think expulsion is a bit too severe?"

Emilia Sullivan played with her bag, not even deigning to glance at Nathalie Quinlan, as if Nathalie was a stain that embarrassed her, and casually replied, "Director, I hope you can consider our family’s feelings. Why do we donate libraries and cafeterias to the school? Isn’t it so our child can study in a good environnt?"

"I won’t even ntion Nathalie skipping class, leaving early, and encouraging classmates to lie. But her fighting outside yesterday and causing trouble at the police station, shouldn’t your school give parents an explanation?"

Gabriella Cagwin echoed from the side, "That’s right, Director. Our school should give parents an explanation; otherwise, it just wouldn’t do."

"But..."

Nathalie Quinlan, inherently impatient with wasting ti and energy on such trivial matters, was relieved when her phone beeped—it was a ssage from Lowie Wilmar, informing her that Silvania Ingram had already delivered the dicine to the clinic and asking when she would co to pick it up.

The office was still caught in a back-and-forth squabble.

Suddenly, Nathalie Quinlan cut them off, "You want an explanation, right?"

Emilia Sullivan, her deanor exuding the superior attitude of the upper class and full of scorn, retorted, "Aren’t you obligated to give us and your school’s teachers an explanation?"

"Alright!"

Nathalie Quinlan took out her phone and made a phone call right in front of them.

"Hello, this is Nathalie Quinlan. If it’s convenient, could you please co to No. 1 Middle School?"

The entire office went silent!

Seeing Emilia Sullivan sit down on the sofa directly, still ignoring Nathalie Quinlan’s presence even with teachers around, she began playing with her own phone.

That attitude spoke volus, as if she hadn’t taken Nathalie seriously at all.

Emilia Sullivan could not swallow this insult.

She was just a bumpkin from a backwater village, who had just so happened to have Rh negative blood and had been adopted by their family; otherwise, she would still be at her old ho in Hillwood County, unable to afford education!

What right did Nathalie Quinlan have to put on airs in front of her?

With a stern face, she too pulled out her phone and said indifferently, "Perfect, I also have a call to make. I recall there’s a police station near No. 1 Middle School. I really want to see if the person you called can help you wipe your police record clean!"

She calmly took out her phone and dialed the police station’s number in front of everyone.

...

The atmosphere in the room was tense, and aside from Mrs. Fisher, who was enjoying the commotion, the rest of the No. 1 Middle School teachers exchanged anxious glances, having not anticipated the situation would escalate to this point!

Shortly after, the police showed up.

"Knock knock!"

"We are from the Shawnee Police Station."

Inside the academic office, the dozen or so people turned to look toward the door.

The director of studies, visibly worried, frequently glanced in Nathalie Quinlan’s direction.

Nathalie Quinlan was still unmoved, holding her phone as if playing, showing no reaction, as if unaware of fear.

"Humph! Still pretending!"

Emilia Sullivan huffed and rose gracefully, even more enthusiastically than the No. 1 Middle School teachers, and hurried to greet the officers, "Co in, please."

Simon Cadwell entered with the officers, surprised to see a good dozen people in the room and thinking they were in a eting. His eyes inadvertently caught the rebellious-looking girl in the corner, showing a surprised expression: "Nathalie Quinlan?"

He had thought she would still be in class at this ti, so he had co here first to address the public’s call to the police, not expecting her to be here, too.
