Nathalie Quinlan had just seen Uncle Cagwin out of the ward.

After closing the door behind her, Nathalie led him to the corner of the corridor before leaning against the wall, lifting her head, and asking him with a hint of accusation in her eyes.
"When are you planning to go back to school?"
"I don’t know yet, I’ll just stay like this for now, I’ll stay in the hospital to take care of my dad first."
Freddy, still unaware that the issues with Jecksen Wilmar were mostly resolved, looked awkward when she asked about his school, his glance inadvertently catching sight of the man standing nearby waiting for Nathalie.

Upon hearing this, Nathalie’s brows furrowed tightly, and with a rather irritable look, she glanced at him before retorting, "Aren’t you going to take the college entrance exams?"
"I..." Freddy hung his head, at a loss for words.
Of course, he wanted to take the exams, but he had signed the confession before, and with a disciplinary sanction on his record, no university would accept him even if he did take the exams. Why bother wasting three months?
"Hmm?" Noting that Freddy trailed off without explaining, Nathalie seed to realize sothing. Her frown slowly relaxed as she straightened up and walked over to stand face to face with him, her voice sowhat hoarse, "Is it because of what happened with Jecksen Wilmar?"
Freddy lifted his head, lips pressed together, not saying a word.
But his eyes betrayed his inner turmoil.
Nathalie could see at a glance that it was because he was coerced into signing that confession by people from Jecksen Wilmar, believing that the disciplinary action he faced ant he couldn’t take the college entrance exams and thinking about an adult university instead.
After all, Freddy and Aunt Cagwin shared the sa temperant, preferring to swallow broken teeth than to speak out, lest they burden her.

Nathalie took out her phone and saw that it was a call from Nancy Sullivan. She didn’t answer, her upward-tilted eyes showing a low pressure as she ended the call.
She looked up at Freddy, "Rember to go to school tomorrow."
After speaking, she didn’t linger, waving the phone in her hand, "I’m off."
Then she turned and walked with cool allure down the corridor...
