Watching as Myles Sullivan approached the door of the principal’s office, Ghania Quinlan’s hand hanging by her side clenched tightly, her back tense, she followed him into the room.
"Sorry for the wait. There was so traffic on the way."
Myles Sullivan started with a cordial greeting as he entered.
A tense atmosphere filled the office; several mbers of the parents’ committee, led by Wenny Taylor’s mother, were dissatisfied with how the school was handling the situation. During the ti they waited for them, they had several heated exchanges with the principal, pressuring the school to deal with Nathalie Quinlan.
Nathalie, on the other hand, lounged lazily by her chair, playing with her phone after having spoken those words to Wenny Taylor.
Amadeus Yancey also appeared quite unaffected, finding a spot not far from her to seat himself with an almost-smiling deanor. He didn’t engage with his phone, but casually sipped the water brought to him by the Class C horoom teacher.
When he settled his presence there, as soon as Myles Sullivan walked in, his heart skipped a beat, and it started to sink...
With Amadeus Yancey here, it seed that the reason for calling him today was not good!
He just didn’t know what the urgent matter was that necessitated his presence.
Myles Sullivan felt uneasy, his gaze landing on the tall and slender girl leaning nearby.
In McKinney, October was nearing winter, with a significant temperature difference these days. Approaching the afternoon, the sun was obscured by clouds, making it quite cold.
The girl, lazily playing with her phone, was rely dressed in a thin sweater. Her coat was loosely tied over her shoulders, the hood drawn up, revealing only the cold sharpness of her chin. Her lips were extrely pale, but her luscious lip shape was beautifully ford, slightly pursed, and she looked altogether self-contained.
"Ha, I thought you had called soone else. Is he your family mber?"
At that mont, Wenny Taylor’s mother’s face darkened slightly. As soon as Myles Sullivan entered, she couldn’t wait to confront him sharply.

When Wenny Taylor saw Ghania Quinlan enter with a middle-aged man, she was actually startled and sowhat panicked, but she didn’t appear as weak as she seed. Since being called into the principal’s office, she had maintained her composure despite appearing very nervous. Aside from being once provoked by Nathalie, she had always given off the impression of a well-behaved student, wearing glasses, not speaking much, seeming submissive and fragile, which made Nathalie look more like the street ruffian she described...
Therefore, even though Wenny Taylor was a little panicked to see Ghania Quinlan, she imdiately bit her lip, lowered her head, and avoided any eye contact with Ghania, nor did she greet her, as if they were rely acquaintances.
However, her age was obvious, and no matter how composed she could be, her instinctive movents betrayed her nervousness, her hand unconsciously gripping her clothes tightly on her knee, her knuckles turning white.
Others might not have noticed the details she inadvertently revealed, but Amadeus was perceptive, taking in all the changes in her deanor as soon as Ghania entered, in those shrewd and profound eyes.
Amadeus clicked his tongue but didn’t expose her; he continued to sip his water nonchalantly, waiting for Nathalie to handle things.
Ever since Myles Sullivan ca in, Nathalie put away her phone, lifted her head, her eyes narrowing sharply, her face expressionless, and she greeted, "Uncle Sullivan, you’re here."
"There was so traffic on the way, delayed a bit," Myles Sullivan, sowhat bewildered by the scene before him, looked up at her and asked, "Nathalie, what’s going on here?"
