"Has your sister started college yet?"
Nathalie Quinlan snuggled into the sofa, took out her phone, leaned there with a relaxed pose that showed she wasn’t intimidated. She was just a bit lazy, "Nope."
Sadam Vinson looked at her calm and composed expression and almost wished he could whip out his phone to take a photo to show soone.
Her carefree deanor was exactly like Amadeus’s!
Not in looks, but in aura!
The aura was strikingly similar!
The man who asked the question laughed, turned his head to the girl next to him and said, "Then you must be the sa age as Nadya Tucker, you wouldn’t happen to be in your last year of high school too, would you?"
The na Nadya Tucker was vaguely familiar to Nathalie Quinlan; she lifted her head and looked towards the girl sitting there with a streak of dyed hair, pretty and fashionable, but couldn’t quite rember where she had seen that face. She quietly withdrew her gaze, and humd an acknowledgnt.
She didn’t recognize Nadya Tucker, but Nadya Tucker recognized her.
During her previous return to McKinney, her family had introduced her to a well-matched suitor, Zayn Fisher. She had been attracted to him and they had even arranged to go shopping together.
Then she ran into the girl before her in the mall, and she rembered clearly, Amadeus was there too, and his attitude towards this girl was very special!
Rembering Amadeus Yancey, she looked at Nathalie Quinlan with an added wariness, not as arrogant as before, and beca much more subdued.
"Nadya Tucker is aiming for Tsinghua University this year. What about your sister, does she have a school she wants to attend?"
"I know a few people, if you want to co to Beijing for university, I can help you look for connections." The man speaking had a square face—it was the sa person who had looked down on Nathalie Quinlan earlier, saying he could handle children, and if necessary, he could chat with Nathalie Quinlan about studies or tourist spots.
His family ran a training school business, quite a big one at that, and they had investnts in many well-known educational institutions at ho and abroad.
His family also had so background, but such clout wasn’t considerable enough in a place like Beijing, where every few steps you’d find a governnt director.
It was for this reason that he tried to gain favor with Govert Griffin, hanging around to see the world and trying to fit in with circles like Sadam Vinson’s.
However, he was shrewd and had the astute eye of a businessman, realizing that Sadam Vinson was suddenly paying more attention to Nathalie Quinlan, and he too thought about giving Sadam so ’face’ so he could mix more smoothly in Beijing’s circles later on.
It wasn’t that he looked down on Nathalie Quinlan, but rather he tended to disdain places like McKinney—small places with limited educational resources, nothing compared to Beijing.
Nadya Tucker’s family was also from McKinney and was one of the top local families there.
Yet early on they had sent her to study in Beijing.
What was the goal? Wasn’t it just to secure better and higher quality educational resources than anywhere else?
He looked at Nathalie Quinlan with no small amount of pride and said, "As long as it’s not a school like Tsinghua University or Southern University, I know people at slightly less prestigious universities. Whatever school you want to attend, just tell , and I’ll make sure you get in."
Sadam Vinson frowned when he heard him repeatedly calling himself ’brother’, but didn’t make a scene.
The man was oblivious to the fact that he was barking up the wrong tree and, growing even more enthusiastic, pressed Nathalie Quinlan, "What do you think, have you thought of any school you’d like to attend?"
Nathalie Quinlan found his chatter next to her ear intensely annoying. With droopy eyelids and a rather bandit-like lift of the corner of her eyes, she gave him a look, slowly picked up the cup of Maofeng tea from the table, held it in her hands, took a sip, then set down the cup and said, "No. I’ll think about it when the ti cos."
That was a clear brush-off!
The man couldn’t let it slide, his face clearly sinking.
