Candice Yancey’s eyes softened, and with a smile she replied, "Imperial Hotel. Amadeus chose it specially for you because he was worried you might not be accustod to strong-tasting dishes. The food there is lighter and more suitable for soone of your age."
"At my age, I can eat anything. There’s no need for you all to accommodate my tastes..." While he said this, he couldn’t conceal the smile on his face, obviously delighted inside but still trying to put up a tough front.

"Well..." The manager glanced at her, polite but revealing nothing: "We can’t disclose that."
In Beijing, there was always soone higher up the ladder, always a bigger fish.
Even though Ivy Wilmar was not pleased, she couldn’t really complain and instead sought a compromise: "We’re already here; you can’t expect us to just leave. How about this, we won’t ask for a private room, just arrange a place for us in the main dining area, can you do that?"
Since Mr. Wilmar had been brought back from death’s door, his presence ant that the Wilmar family’s influence in Beijing remained undiminished.
She didn’t expect the manager would refuse her request.

"I’m sorry, but the Imperial Hotel has been booked out today, the main dining area included. Mr. Wilmar, perhaps you could co another day?"
