Hoffman Family, Lincoln Hoffman had just returned.
Mr. Hoffman, after being urgently treated by a servant and Mr. Hoffman, had awakened from his coma but was visibly not in good spirits. He looked much more haggard. Upon seeing Lincoln Hoffman return, he pushed Mr. Hoffman, who was trying to give him water, away and struggled to sit up, "Lincoln, you’re back. What did they say? Are they willing to let Phoebe go?"
"Dad, please lay back down. Don’t move around; your body..." Mr. Hoffman anxiously supported him, fearing he might fall.
Mr. Hoffman paid him no mind and stared intently at his younger son without blinking, "When are they willing to release Phoebe?"
Lincoln Hoffman had just co in from outside, still cloaked in the cold air from outside, not daring to get too close to him, afraid of passing the cold air onto him. Hearing his question, he took off his coat, draped it over his arm, his face a mix of embarrassnt and awkwardness, and did not dare et his eyes. His voice was very low, "Mr. Zachmann didn’t agree to reconcile, but Caryn Zachmann and Celine Tucker said they’re willing to help contact Nathalie Quinlan privately. I still need to wait for their response, but I left my bank card at the Zachmann’s. Hopefully, they’ll accept the card, giving us a chance to reconcile..."
Both Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman sighed in relief, feeling less tense.
Mr. Hoffman’s focus was different from theirs, his eyes slightly opened, full of surprise, "Why is it involving the Zachmann family again? Didn’t your brother just tell that Phoebe provoked a high school girl from McKinney?"
"The girl is studying in McKinney, a senior this year." Lincoln Hoffman waited until he felt a bit warr and walked over to briefly explain Nathalie Quinlan’s relationship with the Zachmann Family. Finally, his brows furrowed then relaxed, he said, "In any case, Mr. Zachmann didn’t budge, but Caryn Zachmann and Celine Tucker are more flexible. I see a way out, a resolution. After all, Caryn is the most valued in this generation of the Zachmann family. If she’s willing to help, I suspect that girl won’t dare refuse. "As long as your niece can get out safely, owing a favor is trivial. You can slowly repay it later. Nothing is more important than her safety," Mr. Hoffman spoke, finally breathing more easily.
Lincoln Hoffman’s jaw was tight but he agreed with his words.
No matter how outrageous Phoebe’s actions were this ti, she was still a mber of the Hoffman family, and since he would never marry or have children in his lifeti,
It wouldn’t hurt for an uncle to owe a favor for his niece.
Hopefully, Caryn could smooth things over.
Just as he was thinking, the phone in his hand suddenly vibrated. Busy and frustrated with issues concerning Phoebe, he hadn’t really wanted to check the ssage but lifted his hand and glanced it over swiftly.
Just one look, and his face drastically changed!
Mr. Hoffman was still talking about how he had sought out all his old contacts in Beijing but no one dared to lend a hand.
Then they heard Lincoln Hoffman’s throat making creaking sounds, his teeth chattering as he trembled, "It’s, it’s over."
His face paled, terrifying the Hoffman family. Mrs. Hoffman thought there was a new developnt with Phoebe and anxiously looked at her younger brother-in-law, "What, what’s wrong? Didn’t Caryn agree to help? What’s with Phoebe now? Has she refused to help?"
Lincoln Hoffman’s neck was stiff as iron, as he turned around, looking at Mr. Hoffman with a rapidly beating heart, "Red Alliance, Red Alliance has released a statent disassociating with !"
