Nobody spoke in the group chat for quite a while, but no one cared about maintaining face, overwheld by the photos and the ssage sent by Govert Griffin—they couldn’t help but make phone calls inquiring about it.

Elsewhere, at Mr. Zachmann’s place, since Silvania Ingram and Mr. Vinson, among others from the Yancey and Wilmar families, arrived, people from Beijing’s top circles filled the place intermittently. His phone was ringing non-stop.
Previously, many he personally invited but declined, now changed their tune, fawning over him, asking if the banquet had started or if it was still possible for them to attend.
An hour earlier, Mr. Zachmann would have been delighted to have more guests.
Now, however, he was different; he wouldn’t take a single call, letting the phone keep ringing incessantly. Eventually, finding the ringing too annoying, he even set the phone to silent mode, out of sight, out of mind!
Having retired from the social circle, he could afford to ignore calls.
Leonardy Zachmann, still in his pri with potential to advance, thus had no choice but to take those calls.
There were too many calls; he answered a dozen or so, ending with slight headache, he returned and spoke to his father, "Dad, the Jett and Smith families called, saying they’ve now got ti and want to attend Nathalie’s graduation banquet, I rejected all. Could this be a problem?"
People shalessly ringing up with pleasantries just to attend the banquet and being rejected by him might offend so.
Mr. Zachmann, soaked in the world of fa for many years, had long cultivated an indifferent heart.
Hearing his son’s anxious question, he picked up the tea in front of him, took a small sip, slightly lifted his eyelids and looked at him, knowing what he was worried about.
But Leonardy Zachmann genuinely cherished Nathalie Quinlan from his heart, not saying much, he advised, "What’s the problem? Holding his phone, Leonardy Zachmann’s forehead gradually relaxed, not as worried as before. Thinking about Caryn Zachmann, who had stubbornly refused to return, his headache intensified.
He felt awkward ntioning Caryn Zachmann in front of Mr. Zachmann, rely saying, "I just heard from Mr. Vinson and Silvania Ingram that they ca for Nathalie, when did Nathalie et so many people..."
He had been worried that no one would co to Nathalie’s graduation banquet, but the turnout far exceeded his expectations; the small hall they booked was fully occupied.
So, his previous rejections to those who called back wanting to attend, saying ’there’s no space here,’ wasn’t rely to insult them.
It was truly because the place they booked had virtually no empty seats left, completely filled by the people who arrived one after another.
