Beep, beep, beep, the phone has been ringing non-stop since it got a signal.
Nathalie Quinlan doesn’t even need to look to know that a lot of people have been trying to reach her during the show.
She originally thought it might be Sadam Vinson or Shawn Norton contacting her.
Who would have thought that a glance at her phone would reveal that most of the ssages ca from people in McKinney.
[Nathalie, I called you but your phone was off. When you see this ssage and it’s convenient, please call back, I’ll be waiting for you.]
The sender was Nancy Sullivan.
Nathalie Quinlan raised an eyebrow, sowhat surprised that Nancy Sullivan would send her this ssage.
Since the college entrance exams ended and she left McKinney for Beijing, Nancy Sullivan would contact her about school matters, but rarely ssaged her otherwise.
However, during holidays or when Beijing’s weather got colder, Nancy Sullivan would occasionally send her a ssage.
Each ti, Nathalie Quinlan would feel a warmth in her heart after receiving those ssages.
Nathalie Quinlan’s brow furrowed as she read Nancy Sullivan’s ssage again; even through the cold text, she could sense the anxiousness between the lines.
What happened?
Nathalie Quinlan pursed her lips, narrowed her eyes, and resisted the urge to imdiately call Nancy Sullivan back. Instead, she exited the chat and scrolled through more WhatsApp ssages.
As expected, there were new ssages from Justin Wafford, Jhovany Sullivan, and Freddy Cagwin.
Justin Wafford’s ssage was at the top.
Nathalie Quinlan lowered her head, adjusting the brim of her hat, her long legs casually propped against the wall, straight and symtrical. Her face was expressionless as she clicked on Justin Wafford’s avatar.
Justin Wafford’s ssage was very concise.
Upon viewing.
It was just one sentence.
[Nathalie, sothing’s happened!]
*
The Sullivan Family.
Ghania Quinlan had just co out of the bathroom. She took a shower and blow-dried her hair, her soft chestnut hair resting on her shoulders, her skin looking even fairer in the mist, rosy and seemingly harmless.
After she ca out, the phone on the bed started to ring.
Ghania Quinlan calmly put down the towel and walked over, bending down to pick up her phone.
The caller ID showed Emilia Sullivan’s number.
She lowered her eyelashes, her facial features delicate and exuding a touch of tenderness, and put the phone to her ear to answer the call.
"Hello, Mom."
As soon as the call connected, Emilia Sullivan’s worried voice ca through, asking her, "Ghania, what did you need those things for that you asked about? The more I think about it, the more worried I get, so I called to ask you. You must not do anything foolish! If you let that incident out, Nathalie’s temperant definitely won’t let you off. That incident itself is not sothing to be proud of for us either, you..."
Ghania Quinlan, with great patience and a darkening gaze, gently interrupted her, saying, "Mom, I know. I’m not as foolish as you think, don’t worry. I was just suddenly reminded of sothing that happened in the past and wanted to ask you about it. Nothing more."
"As long as it’s nothing more. You must not act impulsively! Even if she’s acknowledged by the Zachmann Family, you have the Sullivan Family to rely on, and she is not in a position to compete with you. There’s no need for you to get into a tussle with her and get yourself involved. You know, she’s crazy, an ingrate, and soone who’d turn on her own family in a heartbeat!"
Seeing that Emilia Sullivan was about to continue her nagging, Ghania Quinlan called out to her sowhat impatiently, "Mom!"
"..."
Emilia Sullivan indeed quieted down.
Ghania Quinlan, seeing her quiet down, felt less agitated than before and controlled her emotion, speaking again in a calm tone, "I’m aware of everything you’ve ntioned, don’t worry, I won’t do anything foolish. She’s not worth it for to do sothing foolish over!"
