Source of Dead Spirit!
The origin of Dead Spirit Swamp?
Staring at the green mist ahead, Lin Tian appeared surprised.
He extended his Divine Sense to investigate further.
Amidst the rising toxins, there was a river below with a bright green color, clearly indicating it was highly poisonous.
"Where exactly do they et?"
At this point, Leng i turned back to look at Dai Chishi, who was being dragged by Pang Damu, and asked sharply.
"Just... just across the Green River, my master and the others are waiting there! You can see it after crossing Echo Bridge!"
Dai Chishi’s face still showed fear, but he had so confidence, saying, "I hope Sect Master Leng won’t kill , or you’ll never save your disciple!"
Leng i didn’t respond and continued walking forward.
Soon.
Amidst the rising green mist, a sowhat rickety wooden bridge appeared.
The bridge was covered in nurous cracks and gaps.
It looked as if it might collapse at any mont.
However.
Interestingly, although the wooden bridge spanned the river, passing through the astonishing green toxic mist, there wasn’t a hint of mist on or within a dozen ters of it.
It seed as though sothing invisible was blocking the area.
The surrounding mist, upon nearing the wooden bridge within a dozen ters, slowly vanished and turned into nothingness.
Moreover, when approaching the wooden bridge, one could faintly hear rustling sounds coming from the bridge and the surrounding mist.
"What is that sound? Is this why the bridge is called Echo Bridge?"
Lin Tian looked at the wooden bridge with curiosity and couldn’t help asking Qin Shu.
"Mr. Lin, this place is at the junction of Namo Mountain Cultivation Domain, Demon Cloud Ridge Cultivation Domain, and the super Cultivation Domain Beiwu Mountain! Dead Spirit Swamp is located in the center and has always been a small forbidden zone since ancient tis, rarely visited!"
Qin Shu quickly whispered to Lin Tian, "This bridge has existed since ancient tis, with echoes emanating from it, thus called Echo Bridge!"
"However, the reason for these echoes is that there’s a very peculiar bug on this wooden bridge — Echo Flies! These strange flies live off the toxic mist, specifically consuming this Dead Spirit toxic mist around! They do this constantly every day, creating this strange noise... but these flies don’t actively attack people and have no other uses, quite intriguing!"
Echo Flies?
Lin Tian was slightly taken aback and then marveled at the wonder of it.
He had never heard of such a thing before.
"Let’s cross! Be very careful not to fall in, or who knows what might happen!"
Leng i turned back to Guu Liangsheng with a polite nod, then reminded everyone as she stepped forward.
Lin Tian followed at the rear, crossing Echo Bridge together.
Listening to the buzzing sounds beneath his feet, Lin Tian curiously released his Divine Sense to cover the whole bridge.
Indeed, he found many densely packed green flies on the bridge — very tiny, even smaller than mosquitoes.
As the group crossed the bridge, the Echo Flies showed no fear, continuing to consu the surrounding toxic mist.
"These things are truly bizarre!"
Lin Tian praised them as he followed the group to the other side of the river.
Walking not far through the forest, they saw a sea of mist stretching into the distance ahead.
Beneath the sea of mist was an endless swamp.
This was indeed Dead Spirit Swamp.
Sitting cross-legged on the edge of the swamp were two people, one old, one young, their eyes closed, resting.
Aside from them, a young girl was bound on the grass, sothing in her mouth preventing her from moving or making any sound.
"Duan Hong is here, previously injured and poisoned by the swamp. Although he got Heart Cleansing Dew from Xuelu Inn, the injuries were only suppressed! The one tied up is Xu Xiaoruo; she doesn’t seem hard!"
Lin Tian scanned the three on the swamp’s edge and thought privately, "That old man sitting together must be the Sect Master of Nanming Cave, right?"
This old man, like Leng i, possessed Golden Core Early Stage cultivation.
His na was Ma Zheng, the Sect Master of Nanming Cave!
Upon their arrival, Ma Zheng imdiately sensed the commotion and opened his eyes.
"Heh, Sect Master Leng, you’ve co just in ti!"
Ma Zheng stood up suddenly, giving Leng i a cold smile.
However, he quickly noticed Dai Chishi, held by Pang Damu, and his face instantly darkened.
"Guu Dao You, what is the aning of this?"
Ma Zheng recognized Pang Damu as Guu Liangsheng’s disciple. Seeing Dai Chishi in such a miserable state, he directly questioned Guu Liangsheng.
Hearing this, Leng i also frowned, having not yet had a chance to inquire about what happened at Baiziwan.
"Daoist Ma, if I said this was an accident, would you believe it?"
Guu Liangsheng felt troubled by the situation with Dai Chishi and could only offer a helpless, wry smile: "He ssed with soone he shouldn’t have!"
Originally.
His visit here aid at not just healing but also diating between Nanming Cave and Xuelu Inn.
With his prestige, both sides would give him so face.
He maintained good relations with both major sects.
A large-scale conflict would benefit no one!
Hence, he was willing to diate this ti!
But the sight of Dai Chishi being beaten made Ma Zheng all the more furious.
"Accident? Mismatched expectations?"
Ma Zheng narrowed his eyes, sweeping a glance over Leng i and the others, seeing no one important besides Leng i.
"Sect Master Ma, Nephew Dai’s injuries are mild; with my intervention, he can be as good as new! And your disciple Duan Hong’s poisoning, I will try my best to redy!"
Guu Liangsheng shook his head, cupping his fist to Ma Zheng while bitterly smiling: "I believe the conflict between your sect and Xuelu Inn can be minorized!"
"I ca with Sect Master Leng hoping for a peaceful negotiation! How about granting this favor?"
Ma Zheng’s expression remained stern but nodded to Guu Liangsheng before addressing Leng i: "I’ll grant a favor to Fellow Daoist Guu, I don’t wish for this to escalate either! However, shouldn’t your Xuelu Inn offer so compensation?"
"No problem! I will ensure Sect Master Ma is satisfied!"
Leng i seriously nodded towards Ma Zheng with a solemn expression.
Ma Zheng glanced back at the misty swamp, his expression shifting slightly, then nodded in agreent.
Down below.
Guu Liangsheng began his work.
He first healed Dai Chishi, whose injuries were superficial, allowing him to stand in just a few minutes.
Yet, he looked at Lin Tian with lingering fear.
While Guu Liangsheng was detoxifying Duan Hong, Dai Chishi returned to Ma Zheng, whispering in his ear.
In the next mont, Ma Zheng raised an eyebrow, casting a cold gaze at Lin Tian, examining him suspiciously.
Just then, the rising mist in the swamp suddenly fluctuated.
The mist parted, and two figures flew out from it, appearing sowhat disheveled.
A black mist surrounded them, swirling ominously, faintly forming skeletal shapes, presenting a ghastly sight.
The sudden appearance of these two figures made Lin Tian, Leng i, and the others look up in surprise.
