When Song Ci learned that Song Zhiyuan and his wife ca together, a smile crept onto his aging face. He looked at his clever son sitting across from him under the south window and nodded secretly.
"It’s been a while since I last saw you, and you’ve gotten darker and thinner. In the palace, does the Emperor not allow you to eat your fill?"
Faced with his mother’s teasing, Song Zhiyuan smiled helplessly and said, "Being by the Emperor’s side to handle state affairs, there’s no reason not to eat well. Please, don’t tease your son. Song Zhiyuan looked towards the door.
At the age of forty-two, he had another youngest son in middle age, a child born to him and Madam Gu in their later years, making it sothing he naturally cared about.
Madam Deng carried Dan Ge’er in, followed by two maids. Upon seeing Song Zhiyuan, she imdiately tried to kneel.
"Don’t kneel, bring the boy over here." Song Zhiyuan stopped her.
Madam Deng quickly approached, and Madam had already stood up to personally take Dan Ge’er, handling him with extre care, afraid that this little ancestor would throw a fit again.
Thankfully, the little ancestor gave face this ti and didn’t cry, although Madam seed a bit disappointed.
Could it be that he knows his father is here and dares not act up?
Song Zhiyuan raised an eyebrow at her casually, without a word.

He weighed the child, feeling a bit hefty, which brought him joy and a smile to his eyes. He clicked his tongue twice to tease the little guy.
Song Zhiyuan, holding a high position in the court, didn’t usually put on airs, but his long-established authority naturally inspired respect. Holding the child with a look of a doting father was indeed eye-opening for others.
"It’s true what they say about fathers doting on their youngest. Seeing the pamper in your eyes, our little Six is fortunate to catch your favor." Song Ci teased.
Song Zhiyuan laughed and said, "This child is raised exceptionally well, quite different from when he was just born, definitely charming."
Madam joined in the fun, "I told you, the Feng Shui here at Mother’s place nurtures people, Dan Ge’er is blessed to benefit from it."
Everyone continued to praise Song Ci.
After a bit of amusent, the boy soiled his diaper, and a stench filled the air, even Song Ci couldn’t stand it. Madam Deng and the others hurriedly took him out for a change.
Madam, with understanding, knew that Song Zhiyuan and Song Ci hadn’t seen each other in a long ti and likely had private matters to discuss, so she found an excuse to go to the kitchen to order so dishes.
Song Zhiyuan holding his tea, said to Song Ci, "Mother, Madam Gu has a bit of a stubborn nature at tis, sorry for troubling you to look after her."
