The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show Chapter 189 - 199: What, You Know Better Than a Nutritionist
Chelsea Raines’s eyes were drawn to Renee Jennings’s lunch box the mont she saw it. She gasped in admiration, "That lunch box is absolutely exquisite! It’s like a work of art."
A flash of pride crossed Renee Jennings’s face. She smiled and said, "Oh, you’re exaggerating, Chelsea. I made it myself. It did take quite a bit of effort, though."
As she spoke, she held up the lunch box and examined it. "It does look pretty decent."
Chelsea Raines glanced at the lunch box in her own backpack. It had a luxurious design and color sche, with a few small diamonds embedded along the edges. For so reason, she now felt her own lunch box was a bit tacky.
"Here, Nathan, co have lunch. Mommy carefully planned this just for you. Co see if you like it," Renee Jennings said gently, handing the lunch box to Nathan Lynch.
Nathan Lynch took it slowly and opened the lunch box with a CLICK.
The al was exceptionally lavish. The main course was Beef Wellington, and besides that, there were quite a few desserts and fruits.
Renee Jennings then pulled a sealed bottle of milk tea out of her backpack. "Here, you can drink this after you finish your al."
Nathan Lynch took it, but looking at the greasy food before him, he felt a wave of nausea for so reason. The weather was too hot, and they had just spent a long ti hiking up the mountain; he had no appetite at the sight of this food.
[Wow, that al is so lavish! Is this what a normal al is like for a rich family?]
[Rachel is so thoughtful, preparing such a huge lunch for her son. It’s making my mouth water.]
[But still, will a child really be able to digest all that? For a little kid, it’s better to eat more protein and fruit to grow strong!]
[This al is so flashy but impractical. Is Renee Jennings just trying to show off her cooking skills?]
[Why are the people above so biased against Rachel? Rachel worked so hard to prepare this al, only to be slandered by you all!]
...
Chelsea Raines’s eyes lit up. "Goodness, Rachel, you really prepared everything."
"I don’t have many hobbies. I just love cooking for my son. As long as he’s happy eating, I’m happy."
Chelsea Raines was surprised. "You made all of this yourself?"
Renee Jennings nodded.
"Rachel, you’re truly an all-around super mom. Jared won’t even eat my cooking. The lunch I brought today was prepared by our family’s chef."
Naomi Kenway also took out her lunch box, pulling out chopsticks and handing them to Ian Shaw.
Ian’s tastes were more like Ethan Shaw’s; he preferred lighter foods. The al Naomi Kenway had prepared was all things Ian liked to eat, but for the sake of her son’s healthy developnt, she had considered nutritional balance, making the selection of dishes rich and varied.
"Thank you for your hard work, Mom."
Naomi Kenway smiled. "It was no trouble at all."
"That slls delicious," Margaret Jennings said, turning her head slightly. "Your family’s chef is amazing. You can’t ignore that aroma."
Naomi Kenway raised an eyebrow, her eyes full of mirth. "Well then, I’ll take that as a complint for ."
Margaret Jennings’s face lit with understanding. "Oh, so you made this yourself, Nina! I’ll have to get so tips from you when we get back. Carina always says my cooking is terrible. This ti, I’m determined to win over her taste buds!"
Renee Jennings’s sharp ears caught their conversation. Of all the people there, only she and Naomi Kenway had prepared the lunches themselves; the other guests’ als were made by their family chefs.
She couldn’t help but feel a little competitive, so she looked over.
One glance was all it took for her to relax. Naomi Kenway’s lunch box was incredibly plain, and the food inside was unremarkable—just very simple, ho-style dishes. Renee Jennings almost wondered if Naomi Kenway’s family had actually gone bankrupt.
She cleared her throat and said loudly, "Naomi, you should be a bit more attentive to your child. It doesn’t take much ti to pack a lunch box. The al you prepared is a little too simple, don’t you think?"
"This is all based on a al plan from a professional nutritionist. What, do you know more than a nutritionist? Besides..." Naomi Kenway glanced at the lunch box in Nathan Lynch’s hands. "Don’t you think the al you prepared is too greasy? Other than showing off your cooking skills, does a al like that have any practical purpose?"
Her intentions exposed, Renee Jennings looked embarrassed. "I was just showing so concern for Ian. If you don’t like hearing it, then forget it."
"Concern for Ian? You should worry about Nathan first. Even if I were the most neglectful mother, I wouldn’t make my own child cry from being wronged all day." By the end, Naomi Kenway’s voice was laced with anger.
Renee Jennings’s face turned pale as she awkwardly averted her gaze.
She turned her head, only to find Nathan Lynch picking at the fruit in the lunch box. The Beef Wellington she had so carefully prepared was completely forgotten in a corner.
Renee Jennings felt as if all her hard work had been trampled on. "Nathan, Mommy spent hours painstakingly making this beef. Why aren’t you eating it? Mommy is so sad. I saved the only piece of Beef Wellington for you, and I can’t believe you’d treat like this."
Nathan Lynch glanced at Renee Jennings’s own much plainer lunch box and seed to freeze for a mont.
Renee Jennings looked pleasantly surprised. She knew Nathan would soften up eventually. "Mommy doesn’t like beef. The beef is for you, Nathan. Mommy will always give you all the best food."
"Why not make two servings? Could it be to make your child feel guilty?"
A light, airy voice cut through the ethereal, fleeting thoughts in Nathan Lynch’s mind, and his gaze beca firm once more.
Annoyed by the comnt, Renee Jennings looked at Naomi Kenway. "Don’t just make wild guesses. What does this have to do with you?"
Naomi Kenway covered her mouth, her eyes crinkling with amusent. "Oh, I’m sorry. I just see you interjecting all the ti and figured this was the kind of interaction you enjoyed."
Renee Jennings resentfully pulled her gaze away. "I can’t believe you’d think of that way, Naomi. The reason I only made one serving of beef is that it’s very ti-consuming. Of course I was going to save it for Nathan."
Naomi Kenway let out a short laugh. "You’re always like this, so self-righteously ’good’ to your child. Do you see him enjoying that beef? You talk so much about how you care for him, but you don’t even know what he likes to eat?"
"Th-that’s just because it’s so hot. That’s why Nathan doesn’t want to eat it..."
"You knew it was hot, yet you still prepared so much greasy food. If it were you, could you eat that under the scorching sun?"
Naomi Kenway’s calm tone left Renee Jennings completely speechless.
Renee Jennings pressed her lips together tightly, absolutely furious. She really couldn’t understand why Naomi Kenway was so dead set on opposing her now.
The confrontation between the two ended, and everyone around them tacitly refrained from voicing their opinions.
Naomi Kenway leisurely picked up her chopsticks, her mood having improved considerably. ’Renee Jennings is always looking for trouble with , so why should I let her have an easy ti?’
Nathan Lynch put down his chopsticks and said he was full.
Renee Jennings looked over and only then realized that the food in his lunch box was almost untouched. He had only picked out and eaten all the sliced fruit.
The milk tea she had carefully prepared also showed no signs of being touched. Nathan Lynch was drinking bottled water.
