The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show Chapter 215: Intimidating Phoenix Holloway
Naomi Kenway led Ian Shaw back to the west room. She sat on the bed, and as her body relaxed, she belatedly felt a hint of exhaustion.
Everything that had happened over the past two days left a deep impression on her. Peldon Village was the poorest stop on their tour itinerary, yet it had stirred up countless emotions within her.
"Mommy, are you tired? Can I rub your shoulders for you?"
Ian Shaw was a boy of action. He clambered onto the bed, began to gently knead Naomi Kenway’s shoulders, and asked gingerly, "Is this okay? Is all your tiredness flying away?"
A blissful smile spread across Naomi Kenway’s face. "Yes, it’s all flown away."
She turned to look at Ian, whose face bore a slight resemblance to her own. His once-frail fra had filled out, and his fair, smooth cheeks now had a healthy, age-appropriate baby fat. His big, dark eyes shone with a new light.
Naomi Kenway reached out and gently stroked Ian’s cheek. "Looks like you’ve put on a little weight."
Ian’s face scrunched up, clearly not a fan of that particular complint. "I didn’t get chubby! I’m just as handso as ever!"
Naomi Kenway quickly laughed. "You’re right, you’re right. It’s all my fault; Mommy’s just tired and confused. Ian has gotten even more handso than before." Her voice took on a coaxing tone. "Ian has always been handso. When we get back, Mommy will take you out to strut your stuff. A son this handso has to be shown off! We’ll make everyone green with envy!"
Ian Shaw giggled, then asked earnestly, "I’m getting more and more handso... When I grow up, will I be even more handso than Daddy?"
The sudden change of topic clearly caught Naomi Kenway off guard. She composed herself and asked, "Why the sudden thought about Daddy?"
"Daddy is the most handso person I’ve ever seen. I want to be even more handso than him! When I grow up, will I be more handso than Daddy?" He furrowed his brow slightly, as if he were genuinely troubled by the question.
His earnest expression made Naomi Kenway laugh. "Of course you will! My son is going to grow up to be a total heartthrob and make all the girls swoon!"
Pleased with her answer, Ian broke into a grin, looking adorably smug.
[Everyone has a bit of vanity, and our four-year-old is no exception.]
[Hahaha, our Ian is already a handso little guy! His face looks so soft and squishy, I just want to kiss it. Co over here and give your auntie a smooch!]
[Ian is really mature for his age. Sotis I almost forget he’s only four.]
[Ian is really getting so much more cheerful and lively. It makes so happy. I hope our dear Ian and Nina can be happy forever!]
...
Ian suddenly said he was thirsty. Naomi Kenway got out of bed and searched the room, but she couldn’t find the thermos anywhere. She then rembered that Six seed to have taken it to the inner room that morning. Naomi told Ian to wait for her and headed toward the inner room.
Before she even reached the door, she heard shouting from inside:
"Joelle Lynch, how can you possibly not have a single penny?! My son works his fingers to the bone, sending one thousand yuan ho every single month, and you dare tell there’s no money? I see what this is—you don’t want to support in my old age! You venomous shrew! You live in my house, eat my food, and you still refuse to show so respect!" a vicious voice snarled.
"Ma, the baby formula alone costs several hundred yuan, and we still need to buy clothes and groceries. There’s no money left over. You’re asking for five hundred right out of the gate. I really don’t have it..."
"For heaven’s sake! Who spends money like you do, like it grows on trees? Just be a little more frugal and you’ll have it! And what’s this about formula? I bet you’re deliberately refusing to breastfeed my grandson. You’re just here to get revenge on the Jacobs family..."
A wave of irritation washed over Naomi Kenway. She shoved the closed door open.
With a loud BANG, all eyes shot to the door.
Phoenix Holloway, her face a mask of fury, was rolling up her sleeves as if she were about to start a fight. Beside her, Joelle Lynch and Six huddled together on the bed, while the swaddled infant, Silas, slept on, oblivious.
"Fairy Sister..." Six called out.
Phoenix Holloway jumped at the sudden noise. She shot a glance at the cara behind her, but her voice was still dripping with dissatisfaction. "What are you doing in here? Weren’t you and your son supposed to stay in the west room?"
Her voice trailed off as she spoke, clearly intimidated by Naomi Kenway. It was just that Naomi’s features were so striking and sharp; she looked nothing like a pushover who could be easily bullied.
Naomi Kenway’s lips ford a thin line, her jaw tight and its curve clean and sharp.
She calmly located the thermos and picked it up. Then she glanced at Phoenix Holloway. "It’s getting late. Why are you still here?"
Phoenix Holloway snorted. "This is my house. Why should I be the one to leave?"
"The production team is using this house for the show. The least you could do is cooperate."
Phoenix Holloway thought about the few hundred yuan she was being paid, which gave her pause. But she hadn’t gotten what she wanted yet...
Suddenly, the baby’s sharp wail pierced the air. Naomi Kenway’s brow furrowed instinctively.
Phoenix Holloway rushed over, her heart aching for the baby. She roared at Joelle Lynch, "What are you gaping at? Are you trying to starve my grandson, you witch? I’m telling you, if even a single hair on his head is hard, I’ll kill you!"
"Get out!" a voice, cold as ice, cut in.
Joelle Lynch had already picked up the child. Phoenix Holloway, however, charged aggressively toward Naomi Kenway. "Who do you think you’re yelling at? Do you know whose house this is? This is my *son’s* house! What gives you the right to tell to get out?!"
Naomi Kenway remained perfectly composed, an amused glint in her eyes as she stared at the woman. "You do know who I am, don’t you?"
Phoenix Holloway sneered. "Who doesn’t know who you are? The internet is full of people dragging your na through the mud. You’re a terrible actress and a total diva. I’ve heard all about it, even out here in the village. Is that sothing you’re proud of?!"
Naomi Kenway folded her arms. "And nothing else?"
Phoenix Holloway was filled with scorn. ’So what if she’s a celebrity who makes tons of money and lives a fancy life?’ she thought. ’It has nothing to do with . It’s not like any of that money is going into my pocket. I’m out here in the sticks, where the law can’t reach. No matter how famous she is, there’s nothing she can do to !’
Just as she was about to open her mouth again, she heard a soft chuckle, followed by a mocking voice:
"Hasn’t anyone ever told you that Naomi Kenway has an especially nasty temper? That she once sent soone to the ICU?"
Phoenix Holloway’s portly fra gave an involuntary shudder, and a flicker of panic appeared in her eyes.
’How could I forget?’ she thought. ’Soone hated by so many people must be a real monster.’
Seeing the woman’s expression, Naomi Kenway started spinning a tale with a perfectly straight face. "You know we’re here to film a show, but you don’t know what kind of show, right? Let fill you in. It’s a fighting tournant. Only the winning contestant gets to leave with their child."
Phoenix Holloway stared at Naomi Kenway’s slender, exposed arms and gulped, her eyes raking over Naomi from head to toe.
Naomi Kenway saw right through her. With a twist of her wrist that produced a sharp CRACK, she said, "What, you don’t believe ? Perfect. I could use you for a warm-up."
