Ruby Preston nodded. "The local people are so simple, honest, and warm. Our next-door neighbors were always bringing us food."

After walking for about ten minutes, Ruby Preston started to run out of steam. She accidentally stepped on a small rock, and her foot slipped. She nearly fell, but thankfully, Naomi Kenway caught her just in ti.

"Are you okay?" Naomi Kenway asked.

Ruby Preston squatted down, her face contorted in pain. Her brows were knitted tightly as she pointed to her foot. She had twisted her ankle.

Simon Sawyer stared at her blankly from the side. His perpetually calm expression suddenly changed, and he anxiously cried out, "Mom!"
