Caleb Bishop watched her quietly, his expression suddenly turning pale.
DING. The elevator arrived. Naomi Kenway stepped inside without hesitation, her movents swift as if fleeing sothing filthy.
But to her surprise, Caleb Bishop followed right behind her into the elevator. The confined space was full of people, so Naomi couldn’t curse him out and had to hold her tongue for the mont.
When they reached the first floor, Naomi was the first one out. She crossed her arms, looked at Caleb Bishop, and said in a cold voice, "Spit it out. What’s your angle? What do you want? If you want money, go to your sugar mama. I’m not giving a single cent to a shaless beggar."
"Do we have to be like this?" Caleb Bishop lowered his eyes, appearing deeply dejected.
"How many tis have I told you not to disgust !" Naomi turned to leave, but Caleb Bishop grabbed her arm.
"What happened back then wasn’t what you think. I don’t know how to explain it to you, but I... I never ant to hurt you... Nina."
Naomi spun around. "Oh? You didn’t an to hurt ? Are you saying everything back then was my fault? That *I* was the one who insisted on being with you while our friends mocked ? That *I* was the one who drank myself into the hospital after you got together with Jeanette Kensington?!"
As she spoke, Naomi let out a laugh. "How stupid I was."
"I thought I could forget you, just like all the other things I’ve left behind. But these past few years, I haven’t stopped thinking about you for a single mont. The second I saw you, I felt like my heart was going to leap out of my chest. Can you understand how I feel?"
Naomi remained completely unmoved. She sneered and took out her phone. "Keep talking. I’ve started recording. I’ll play this for Jeanette Kensington later. Do you think she’ll keep supporting you then?"
An extrely chagrined expression appeared on Caleb Bishop’s fair face, and his hands slowly clenched into fists. "I know you’ve looked down on from the very beginning, Naomi Kenway. This ti, I’ll make you see in a new light. I’ll make you willingly stay by my side, just like before."
His gaze darkened. He glanced at Naomi’s screen and chuckled. "You’re really recording? Fine. Go ahead and play it for her. She’ll just think your recording is fake, believe it or not. I don’t think you quite understand which one of us can’t live without the other."
His eyes fixed on Naomi’s face. He reached out a hand, then stopped it mid-air and smiled. "Next ti you’re waiting for an elevator, rember to watch where you’re going. It would be a sha to run into another reckless family mber."
"See you next ti, Naomi Kenway."
With that, Caleb Bishop turned and left.
His final glance was disgusting and cloying, leaving Naomi with the unsettling feeling of being watched by a predator.
Putting her phone away, Naomi Kenway left the hospital.

Naomi Kenway had already arranged to take Ian to the amusent park over the weekend. When she went to pick him up from school today, she could clearly feel his excitent. He ca out skipping, holding his teacher’s hand.
"I don’t think I saw Ian’s father today."
"He’s a bit busy with work today, so I ca to pick our son up."
"Is Ian’s mother taking Ian to the amusent park?" Jessica Hilton, his teacher, asked.
Naomi took Ian from her and nodded with a smile. "Yes."
"Ian is so happy. I’ve noticed he’s in a much better mood than usual. When I asked him, he said he was going to the amusent park with his mom and dad." Jessica Hilton bent down, smiling at Ian Shaw. "Have a wonderful ti with your mom and dad, Ian."
"Thank you, Teacher Hilton."

Back ho, Naomi and Ian packed what they would need for the next day. A small backpack was filled with amusent park essentials. Carrying too much would be cumberso, so Naomi weeded out so items that they could just buy at the park.
Naomi pulled out a few sets of matching family outfits, each with a different style and color, and let Ian pick his favorite.
Ian Shaw pointed to a light green set. "This one."
Naomi nodded and smiled. "Okay, this one it is. Green is so fresh, and it brightens your complexion. It has a lively, energetic sumr vibe."
Naomi put the outfits away. "Then we’ll wear these tomorrow."
Ian nestled against Naomi and nodded, then wriggled out of her arms to help her put all the clothes away in the walk-in closet.
Usually, the family waited for everyone to be ho before eating dinner. Since Ethan Shaw wasn’t back yet, Naomi held Ian on the sofa, and they chatted idly.
"What did you learn in kindergarten today?"
"The little duck dance."
"A dance? Did you like it, Ian?"
Ian Shaw lay in Naomi’s arms and shook his head honestly, his big eyes wide. "No."
His frankness made Naomi laugh. "Mommy saw the video Teacher Hilton sent to the group chat. That must have been the dance the kids were doing, right? Where were you, Ian? Why didn’t Mommy see you?"
"I was there... there..."
Naomi pulled up the video. Ian reached out a chubby little hand to pause it, then pointed to a small figure sitting on a red stool, seen only from the back. In his sweet, childish voice, he said, "That’s ."
"Oh, so that’s where you were. It’s Mommy’s fault for not recognizing you. Why weren’t you dancing with the other kids, Ian?"
"Because... it’s a little childish."
His eyes were round as he said this with a serious expression, a statent completely at odds with his age and appearance.
"Well, Mommy is excited to see it. I think the dance is very cute. Can you dance it for Mommy, Ian?"
Ian Shaw nodded enthusiastically, without the slightest hesitation.
Naomi found the music and sat on the sofa, watching Ian Shaw wiggle and twist around below. He was absolutely adorable.
Naomi morized the moves and then joined in Ian’s dance.
After about ten minutes, they were both a little tired from dancing and stopped.
Ian thoughtfully took a glass of room-temperature water from a housekeeper and handed it to Naomi.
"Thank you, Ian. Thank you, Mommy’s baby."
Five minutes later, Ethan Shaw returned. The family had dinner and then discussed so of the main attractions they wanted to see at the amusent park.

The next day, Naomi Kenway got up early to get ready. She put on the matching outfit she and Ian had agreed on, then applied so exquisite makeup.
After Ethan Shaw finished getting ready, he sat in the living room reading so docunts. Hearing footsteps on the stairs, he looked up to see the mother and son, both dressed in light green matching outfits and looking full of energy.
Ethan glanced down at himself. He was still in a dress shirt and trousers, which suddenly seed completely out of place.
Naomi noticed Ethan’s gaze and did a little spin with Ian. "What do you think? Do we look good? Ian and I picked these out together. Don’t we have great taste?"
Ethan nodded, though he felt a little sour inside. "Why isn’t there one for ?"
His voice was much softer than usual, sounding a bit pitiful. Naomi was taken aback. She and Ian exchanged a look, and then she explained, "We thought you didn’t like to wear such loud colors. I know you’ve always preferred black, white, and gray."
