He sighed again, his tone a mixture of confusion and anger. "Rose was so smart her entire life. How could she have left all her assets to that scoundrel Jackson Kensington!"

Seeing Naomi Kenway’s expression grow somber, Leo Lennox tactfully changed the subject. "Annie must be four years and three months old now, right? I haven’t seen him in so long. Bring him to visit this old man when you have a chance!"

"Okay." Naomi Kenway pulled out her phone. "I have a lot of photos of Annie in my album. Here, take a look."

"Oh, by the way, Annie’s Mother," Jessica Hilton began tentatively, "we’re holding a parent-child activity the day after tomorrow. I was wondering... would you have ti to co?"

Ian Shaw looked up at Naomi Kenway with hopeful eyes, but then, rembering past experiences, his head drooped in disappointnt.

Jessica Hilton was aware of Ian Shaw’s situation. Whenever there was a parent-child activity, Annie would stand all alone by her side, watching the other children interact with their families. The mory of that scene was heart-wrenching for her every ti she thought of it.

Naomi Kenway was never sure about Ethan Shaw, but for her son’s sake, she decided to at least try. "He should be able to make it."

Jessica Hilton smiled. "Great! We’ll see you then!"

"Annie, say bye-bye to Teacher Hilton."

Ian Shaw obediently waved goodbye.

Now that he had Naomi Kenway’s promise, Ian Shaw skipped along joyfully with his little backpack, so full of energy that Naomi could barely hold onto his hand.

Seeing him about to skip right past their car, Naomi Kenway laughed and called out, "Annie, our car is over here! You’re so excited you forgot where we parked, huh?"

Ian Shaw said suddenly, "Mommy, can you crouch down?"

Naomi Kenway was confused, but she did as he asked.

A sweet little kiss landed on her cheek, and Naomi Kenway was overjoyed.

Ian Shaw had been watching Naomi Kenway’s expression closely. When he saw the smile light up her face, he began to smile too, his round eyes curving into happy crescents. "Annie loves Mommy the most!"
