It wasn’t the argunts themselves that scared Diana, but the way in which Kael spoke.

It was far different from the usual soft voice that Kael had.

Kael argued with such imnse hatred in his eyes that Diana would get scared of him.

After all, at that ti she was just a little girl, and seeing her closest friend behaving in such a volatile manner made her fear him.

Though she tried her best not to show that fear when talking to Kael.

Diana didn’t want Kael to feel alienated. She wanted to make him understand that he had people around him to talk to, to share his concerns with.

But Kael never did anything of the sort, and largely began to ignore her.

He didn’t outright reject her, but Diana felt the distance between them growing apart with each passing day.

It was as if Kael had been disappointed in all of them.

Diana wanted to understand him, to console him in the sa way that he had helped her in the past two years.

But she never got the chance.

Soon, years passed and Diana had turned fourteen years old.

As she was now old enough, the responsibilities that were placed on her had increased by huge margins.

She could no longer visit her childhood friends and had to manage her ti with the fullest efficiency.

It was only on weekends and so other days that Diana was able to et Alicia and talk with her.

As for the situation at the Frost mansion, it had taken an even more intense turn.

After a series of disastrous argunts, Duke Frost had decided to na Kevin as the new Heir to the Frost Dukedom.

And that had severely enraged Kael.

If earlier Kael’s retaliation was limited to verbal argunts, it had now escalated to him indulging in all sorts of pleasures, making his life even more miserable.

And now not only the duke but even the rest of the family had started to openly neglect Kael, as if he never existed.

Even Alicia, who was once attached to Kael, had not even uttered a single word about him.

As for Kael, Diana had never seen him in the mansion.

He would always be out, partying and drowning himself in alcohol and all the other things that addicts usually did.

On one such day, Diana had managed to make so ti for herself and decided to visit Alicia.

Reaching the mansion, she was greeted by the staff and soon led to Alicia’s room.

Opening the door, she could see Alicia reading from so book.

"Never thought you would beco a bookworm?"

At Diana’s question, Alicia raised her head, and her eyes widened slightly in surprise.

"I thought you wouldn’t be able to co for a week."

Getting up from her chair, Alicia warmly hugged Diana, her lips curving into a small smile.

"Well, you don’t take the effort to visit , so this princess has to do all the work."

Diana chuckled while ending their hug.

"Thank you for your troubles, Your Highness!"

Alicia bowed in return to Diana’s statent, holding the sides of her dress in an elegant manner.

Both of them looked at each other for a mont before laughing at their antics.

"So how’s everything on your end?"

Alicia asked after Diana took her seat on the chair beside the bed.

Alicia approached from behind Diana while massaging her neck at the sa ti.

Diana, appreciating the gesture, just smiled in return.

"The sa as always. Father wants to look for soone to marry before it’s too late."

Diana said after a brief pause.

"Huh? Has he gone crazy? Who marries at fourteen? You— Just wait, I will speak—"

"Calm down! He was just joking about it. Don’t get stressed, mother, or else you will end up losing these hairs."

Diana chuckled while holding so of Alicia’s hair that was within the reach of her hand.

Alicia gave a little pout in return.

Then, thinking for a second, her face soon turned into a frown.

"And even if you wanted to get married, do you even have soone in mind?"

Diana went quiet at the question.

An image of a certain soone popped into her mind before she quickly discarded any unnecessary thoughts.

"Well, I have you. Surely you will find soone for , right?"

This ti it was Alicia’s turn to go silent.

No matter the circumstances, every now and then their conversations would end up revolving around the sa person.

The topics might have been different, but the end results were always the sa.

And Diana knew, no matter how much indifference Alicia tried to project, at the bottom of her heart she desired her happy family again.

Bang!

"Huh?! Fuck your rules!"

Both Alicia and Diana froze as the loud noise of sothing heavy crashing down, along with enraged shouts, reached their ears.

Imdiately dropping their conversation, they headed downstairs towards the source.

"How about you fucking mind your own business and let do the sa!"

Arriving at the ground floor, a familiar scene greeted them. One which they were used to seeing frequently but were never able to adapt to.

Castor stood on one end of the hall, his eyes narrowed in silence.

Just near him, standing beside the wall, was a boy in his teenage years.

Kael’s hand was bleeding as the splinters from the broken furniture had pierced his hand.

As Alicia and Diana moved closer to Kael, just a glimpse of his eyes made them stop dead in their tracks.

Kael’s eyes had turned red, his hands trembling in anger.

"Shout one more ti, and I will have you know the serious consequences of whatever you are currently doing."

Castor’s calm yet commanding voice made everyone turn their attention towards him.

Though he looked calm from the outside, no one could ignore the restrained fury that could be felt in his asured tone.

"What are you two up to again?!"

Alia had reached the hall, her hands slightly covered in flour. She had just been engaged in cooking with the other maids when the crashing sound reached her ears.

Though Alia had raised her voice to show her disappointnt and anger at the argunt between the father and son, everyone could feel the slight trembling in her voice.

She was scared more than being angry at the mont.

Kael was not in control of his emotions, and if Castor lost it too, then...

Alia didn’t want to see the aftermath of their argunt if it escalated further.

Surely it would be more disastrous than whatever was happening at the mont.
