Splash!

Washing your face with cold water just had a different vibe to it.

The classes had been as boring as ever.

Though Elsa’s lecture was sowhat interesting, at the end of the day I was not one of those study nerds.

Attending classes like a kid was the worst thing that could have happened to .

Still... It wasn’t like everything was so bad.

I had asked Diana to et tonight before dinner.

I was thinking of teaching her so basics today, though she might have known them already.

But there was a difference between knowing sothing and actually practicing it.

Looking at Diana’s fighting style, I didn’t have any doubt about it.

The girl had never trained her physique seriously.

If her mana supply was cut off, even a kid could smash her.

Well... That was a bit of an exaggeration as Diana was surely far more experienced than an average kid.

She had a good technique... But that was it.

In this world, everyone used their own weapon techniques. There was no fixed sword style that you could learn.

I an I really didn’t understand the chanism behind having a sword style or any other fixed weapon style.

In many fictional literatures and gas, the characters had sword styles that were rated in stars.

The more stars a sword art had, the better and the stronger it was.

But I found the logic flawed.

During a fight, how could soone fend off unpredictable attacks using a sword art that had a fixed number of moves under it?

How could the constant pressure of live combat allow individuals to swing their weapons in specific ways that were given in any weapon art?

Every sword art that I had seen being used by the characters in the modern world had to begin from a certain stance or a predefined form.

During a battle that demanded constant change in position, how could one start to use a weapon art without sacrificing his life?

Surely the enemy wouldn’t wait for the individual to get ready in order to unleash whatever weapon art he had learned.

Then there was that about the characters shouting their moves in a loud voice before executing them.

Even with my intelligence, I was at a loss of words for the logic behind such things.

As for the techniques used in this world—All of them were a combined mass of everything a cultivator had learned in his lifeti.

At the end of the day, when your life is at stake, you just have to swing the sword or any weapon that you have in order to evade the enemy’s attack and proceed with your own.

That was the main principle of the weapon techniques that was taught to everyone.

You just had to keep on learning the variations in which you could use your weapon to its fullest extent and then apply all of the learned techniques in a battle according to what the situation demands.

There was no complex theory behind it.

Just a simple rule of either surviving or killing your opponent.

Just as I was thinking of calling Diana, there was a knock on the door.

Not once but twice.

If I rembered correctly, a doorbell was attached to the wall beside the door.

Haa...

Making my way towards the door, I opened it only to find Diana waiting outside.

"You know there is a bell here."

At my statent she shifted her gaze to the wall and froze.

"Uh... That... You see—"

"It’s alright. Happens with many."

I decided to save her from the possible embarrassnt, but the damage was already done.

I could see Diana’s ears burning as they had changed to a shade of red.

Well... It was more of an imaginary thing than an actual change in colour.

"Let’s go."

Click.

Closing the door behind , I began to walk towards the training facility.

The academy had allotted a special area for the students to train on their own, without any sort of disturbance.

"Your friend isn’t with you?"

Diana asked on the way, as she looked around.

"John? He is a master of his weapon, so there’s no need for him to train."

Diana blinked her eyes at my statent.

"Which weapon does he use? Is he that strong?"

Rembering John’s capability—

"I can’t exactly speak about his strength... As for his weapon, he likes to use a spear—so sort of weapon from birth."

"The way you are talking, he sounds like a genius in it."

Diana had a look of astonishnt on her face.

"Yeah... He could be called a genius in spears."

I spoke with a calm voice, thinking about John.

As the topic ended, there was silence for so ti, before I gave Diana a brief glance.

"You didn’t invite any of your friends?"

"Ah! Leaving Alicia and others, I don’t really have any close ones."

Diana scratched the back of her neck.

"Should I have invited more people?!"

She stopped in her tracks, her voice a little panicked at the end.

"No, it’s just that girls usually take soone with them before eting other people."

At least that was my understanding of their gender in general.

Diana, realising it wasn’t any sort of problem, matched her steps with mine again.

"That... We normally do things like that, but that’s only if the other person is a stranger or soone whom we don’t know much about."

Though she spoke it as a matter of fact, I could clearly see the ssage beneath.

Was she trying to flirt?

I didn’t reply to her statent, as we were now near the training facility. Though I could feel Diana’s stare, as she was hoping for so kind of answer.

Honestly, I didn’t want to speak anything unnecessary that could damage my reputation as well as the fragile relation with her that I had just developed.

Taking a asured approach was the best choice in my opinion.

As we entered the facility, a massive complex greeted us.

Everywhere around I could see training rooms with options for individual as well as group training exercises.

Looking at our clothes, I knew we couldn’t simply fight in them as it would be a little unfair to the clothes being used in combat.

I walked towards a room that was ant for group training and pressed the unlock button on the panel before .

The door opened and a spacious hall greeted us.

"Change into the gym set, and et here again."

Informing Diana, I made my way towards the n’s changing room.
