Hugo’s blessing and curse were both tied to healing. One doubled the effects of his heals while the other made both him and the target of healing feel the pain. Due to this, Adrian got him a training manual that gave him different healing spells combined with a physical fighting style.
This would help him heal himself but he would also feel the sa pain multiple tis. Yet, it was still better than dying. He would also act as a support for the others.
As for Vance, his blessing allowed him to double his attributes whenever he used fla attributed weapon and armor, but his curse countered it slightly by doubling the mana required to cast fire spells.
The only option to completely negate this curse, was to not use fla magic at all. Instead, Adrian could make him items that were already imbued with the fire attribute. His knight manual also focused on flas but it wasn’t the flas that burned people to ashes.
Adrian picked Frost fire as ice was much more useful in actual combat, especially when Vance would fight high ranked knights. The reason was simple, real flas charred the cuts that he’d inflict, automatically closing the wounds.
Open wounds were necessary to deal more damage and fire actually didn’t help with this. It was pretty effective against regular soldiers and those who weren’t a high rank knight but Adrian’s goal wasn’t that.
He wanted Vance to be able to fight above his level, and frost fire made this possible. Frostfire also closed the wounds of his enemies if cut, but it also froze the surrounding muscles, which would significantly impact his opponent’s combat ability.
On top of that, hot flas were common so most high ranked knights actually trained to gain a tolerance to them. But frost fire was extrely rare even among mages, which ant that even long ranged spells could be extrely effective.
Adrian’s thought process was pretty simple.
Frost fire was a fla, but it was still considered to be an ice attribute magic. Though, there was a way he could abuse the fact that it was still a fla.
Give the weapons and armor an enchantnt that boosts flas in general, which was a fire attribute enchantnt. Hot and cold flas were both considered flas, which ant that Vance could easily ignore his curse by using frost flas.
’Considering all the loopholes I can use, Vance would be my best talent in terms of skill synergy. Octavia can beat him with just the different in mana alone. After all, A rank mana veins are crazy strong... The other three won’t be far behind either.’ he mused as he took out two books from his dungeon.
Just then, Aria walked in and Adrian smiled as he gave one of the books to her.
"Here you go, papa managed to get his hands on a training manual that can help mages use their mana hearts for knight training." he said and patted her head as she opened the book.
It was a watered down version of his own book, and the reason for this was simple.
She was still a five year old and the brutal nature of the actual training thods was sothing he did not want her to go through.
Due to this, he had made three versions for the book that he had. One was slow but it inflicted the least amount of pain. Second one was a middle ground and the third was the one that he planned to use, the actual complete book that gave him the best efficiency, but the price was for him to experience imasurable pain.
It was the sa with the teens too. All five of them got the books that were at the center of both worlds. They would go through pain, but it’d be faster than Aria’s but much less brutal than Adrian’s.
"Go back to your room and read it. You can start training whenever you wish and if you have any questions, you can ask either or Claire." he said and Aria nodded before she left the room.
With her gone, Adrian took a deep breath and opened one of his drawers before picking up an unsealed envelope.
’An order to contribute to war huh... talk about bad timing.’ he thought as he read it for the third ti that day.
Not even two weeks after the attack on his territory, he was ordered to help with war efforts against the Kingdom of Avarice.
"Luckily, I have three months ti to reply." he muttered as he tossed the letter back into his drawer before he got Damian to call for Celeste, the herbologist and potion master.
Since there weren’t any houses at his territory anymore, both Celeste and Cassius’s families ended up living in his mansion temporarily.
She walked in, but her brother was with her too.
Adrian looked up at them, "So, Caelum. How are you feeling?"
Her brother nodded "I’m feeling much better, my lord. If I continue drinking the dicine, I should be able to go back to using my magic in a month or so."
Adrian grinned.
He had hit a jackpot on these siblings. He didn’t know at first, but Caelum wasn’t just so random guy.
He was a self learned 4th Circle Mage, a person who could actually make a decent impact in actual fights. Though, he wasn’t actually a battle mage. Instead, he specialized in runesmithing and enchantnts.
"That’s good. Take rest and try your best to recover. After all, I’ll be requiring your help a lot in the future and considering how we’ll be going to war soon, I might need you to co with too."
"Understood, my lord." Caelum said and Adrian turned to look at Celeste, "Celeste, did you get the potion ready?"
The girl nodded, but her expression was pretty serious.
"I did... but the success rate is incredibly low. I only managed to make a single vial." she said as she took out a small vial filled with green liquid.
Adrian grinned, "That’s more than enough."
