As she finished speaking, the lead galodon Beastman suddenly realized sothing.
He slowly leaned in, his nacing fangs reeking of a foul, bloody stench. His voice held a dangerous, questioning lilt. "Her older sister? You’re saying you’re the older sister of Rhea, the Clan Leader of the r Clan?"
The r Clan’s Old Seer had been dead for many years, and no new Witch had ever appeared.
On top of that, with both the Young Clan Leader and the forr Clan Leader eting with successive disasters, the clan was destined to wither away. The sudden appearance of a Witch with healing powers was undoubtedly monuntal news that would shake the entire Norfell Sea.
’But she claims to be the Clan Leader’s older sister? Can that be true?’
The galodon Beastman narrowed his eyes, studying Evangeline’s scarlet fishtail.
He suddenly sneered. "The r Clan’s new Clan Leader just had her coming-of-age ceremony. As for you, your tail scales haven’t even fully grown in, have they? And you call yourself her older sister? She’d probably think you’re too young to even be her little sister!"
As his words fell, the crowd of galodon Tribe mbers behind him erupted in raucous laughter.
They pounded their chests, laughing so hard they doubled over, their serrated fangs glinting coldly.
It wasn’t just the galodon Beastn; even Montague, standing to the side, had a complicated expression.
He discreetly nudged Stellan’s arm and whispered, his voice as faint as a buzzing fly, "Where on earth did you find her? She can’t be one of the r Clan from our Norfell Sea, can she?"
Montague was intensely curious. A strange mber of the r Clan had never appeared in the Norfell Sea before.
Stellan shook his head. Suddenly, Evangeline’s enchanting voice rose, laced with a cold sneer. "An older sister is an older sister! A Witch is the Beast God’s ssenger on earth. I can be the older sister to whover I please. What business is it of yours?"
"Laughing at ?" A silver light flashed. An ice blade cut through the current and shattered every tooth in the mouth of the galodon Beastman who had been laughing the loudest. A mouthful of sharp, serrated fangs clattered to the ground in pieces.
Evangeline tilted her head slightly, a smile playing on her red lips as she looked at the lead galodon Beastman. "Do you have any other questions?"
The lead galodon Beastman sucked in a sharp breath, staring at his clansman’s shattered maw as cold sweat beaded on his forehead. ’The power of a Witch truly is extraordinary.’ He didn’t dare say another word, his face ashen as he cleared a path.
Compared to Terrestrial Beastn, the Tideborn Beastn had a much better understanding of the law of the jungle.
Evangeline smoothed her long hair, letting it flow more gracefully in the current.
She swam unhurriedly into the dwelling constructed from coral reefs. As soon as she entered, the space opened up before her.
In the center of the room was a large tortoiseshell table, with a dozen or so figures seated around it.
There were n and won, ugly galodon Beastn and stunningly beautiful mbers of the r Clan. Among them, her eyes imdiately found Rhea.
Like Danton, Rhea had a pair of light blue eyes.
Right now, however, her beautiful eyes were filled with a fury that seed ready to burn a hole right through the galodon Beastman before her.
That Beastman was even larger and more muscular than the Eight-Marked Beastman guarding the door.
Surprisingly, he didn’t have a grotesque, terrifying shark head.
Even so, his features were still underwhelming. His facial features looked as if they had been haphazardly thrown together, creating a savage appearance. Evangeline suddenly understood why they preferred to parade around with their beast-form heads.
’The Beast God must have had His eyes closed when He created this race.’
Even in their humanoid forms, they were the ugliest beings on the Beastman Continent. Their beast forms were actually more imposing.
Evangeline’s sudden entrance caused the tense, murderous atmosphere to falter for a mont.
Rhea’s expression changed slightly upon seeing a female of her own clan. She was about to reprimand her and tell her to leave when her gaze fixed on the newcor’s fishtail. As far as she knew, no female in their clan had such a scarlet tail.
A trace of doubt appeared in her eyes. She slowly looked up, her gaze finally landing on Evangeline’s face.
At that sight, her light blue pupils abruptly constricted. For a long mont, she was too stunned to speak. "You..."
The corners of Evangeline’s lips lifted, the edges of her eyes crinkling into a faint, ambiguous smile. "My apologies for barging in and interrupting your discussion with the galodon leader. However, as the clan’s Witch, there are so matters I must be present for."
As she spoke, she gave her scarlet tailfin a gentle flick and gracefully positioned herself beside Rhea.
Rhea froze, her mind a turbulent storm of thoughts. She still hadn’t processed what was happening.
’How did a Fox Clan female suddenly beco one of the r Clan? Besides, how long has it been since Evangeline ca of age? How can she take on the beast form of the r Clan? And what’s this about a r Clan Witch? Is she talking about... herself?’
A thousand thoughts exploded in her mind.
She knew Evangeline was a Witch; she had witnessed Evangeline’s abilities back when she went ashore to find her brother.
’But didn’t she leave a long ti ago? Why has she suddenly appeared in the r Clan’s territory?’
Rhea abruptly turned her head, her brow furrowed as she stared at Evangeline with a complex gaze.
"A Witch?" Shaw looked at Evangeline, his face a mask of astonishnt, but his expression froze the mont he got a clear look at her face.
He had originally thought that Rhea, the r Clan Leader with her five-star pattern, was the most beautiful being in the entire Norfell Sea. He coveted the procreative power of her Star Pattern, and he had a weakness for beauty—those were the reasons he was willing to do whatever it took to form a Contract with Rhea and, in the process, absorb the entire r Clan as a vassal tribe.
’Perhaps if the galodon Tribe and the r Clan were to join, our savage faces might evolve to look a little more human?’
Shaw’s gaze suddenly fixed on Evangeline, a dark light swirling in the depths of his pupils.
This little maiden before him, not yet of age, was breathtakingly beautiful.
Her scarlet tailfin traced a glowing arc in the water. Her face was exquisite, and her figure was surprisingly voluptuous—nothing like that of an underage female. And... she was pregnant.
Shaw’s eyes fell on the center of Evangeline’s forehead. There, a Beast Spirit Flower was in full, radiant bloom.
His eyes darkened, and he unconsciously ground his knuckles together.
’It seems our galodon Tribe’s knowledge of the r Clan is far from complete.’
’To think the r Clan produced a Witch, and such a beautiful one at that.’
Shaw stood up. He pressed his iron-clad right arm across his chest, performing a perfect salute of the Deep Sea clans. "Perhaps... we can renegotiate who forms the Contract with the r Clan."
Rhea was jolted back to her senses by his greedy tone, a cold glint flashing in her eyes.
She stared coldly at Evangeline, forcing the icy words through her teeth. "Get out! This has nothing to do with you. The affairs of the r Clan are not for an outsider to ddle in!"
A Terrestrial female, one who even held a grudge against the r Clan... Rhea didn’t care how she had managed to transform into a r Beastman and co to the Deep Sea, nor did she care what her purpose was. Right now, she had to leave.
The Deep Sea was no place for her, and it was certainly not where she belonged.
Even with all her hatred, she would not drag Evangeline into her feud with the galodon Tribe.
The galodon Tribe had always been vicious. If they truly set their sights on Evangeline, the one who would ultimately suffer would be her brother!
At the thought of her brother, a flash of pain crossed Rhea’s eyes. The hand at her side clenched into a fist so tight her knuckles turned white. The current, carrying a subtle undertow, swept past her, bringing a slight chill.
Seeing that Evangeline remained completely still, a blood-red fury surged in Rhea’s eyes as she snarled, "Get out!"
Evangeline half-closed her eyes. ’Heh, what a temperantal r female.’
