Evangeline looked at Elias Moretti. His usual fierce and grim expression had vanished, replaced by a much gentler one.

’Begging her like this, bowing his head for a female who had deceived him... this really isn’t like Elias Moretti at all.’

A flicker of light crossed Evangeline’s eyes. She stood up and picked up the oil-paper umbrella by the cave entrance. "Fine. Let’s go have a look."

After all, she, Thorne, and Caden Albright still needed to use the Grymdale Tribe’s territory. Besides, she was pregnant herself. Seeing Cecilia West struggle with a difficult birth, and having the ability to save the cub’s life, she couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.

Elias Moretti let out a sigh of relief, his tense expression softening considerably.

Evangeline glanced down at the murky, stagnant water, her brow furrowing slightly as a trace of disgust flashed in her eyes.

Seeing this, Elias Moretti extended a hand to her and said in a low voice, "I’ll carry you on my back."

She glanced up at him, her expression indifferent, and shook her head. "No need. Let’s go."

With that, she stepped directly into the turbid water. It ca up to her calves, chilling her to the bone, and splashed up as she walked, soaking her Beast Skin Skirt.

Elias Moretti stiffened. A complex emotion flickered in his scarlet eyes, but he said nothing more and walked ahead to lead the way.

Evangeline followed behind Elias Moretti, her steps unsteady in the uneven, watery ground. Soon, they arrived at the cave where Cecilia West lived.

Even before they got close, Evangeline could sll the thick scent of blood wafting from inside.

She frowned, unable to resist raising a hand to cover her nose.

Gable stood at the cave entrance, his brow furrowed and his face heavy with worry.

The rainy season had arrived after the hunting season, and Cecilia West was the first female in the tribe to give birth. For sothing like this to happen was definitely not a good on.

Elias Moretti strode forward, wiped the rain from his face, and asked, "Gable! How is she?"

Gable shook his head. Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly noticed Evangeline behind Elias Moretti. His gaze fell on her face, and he froze for a mont. He hadn’t participated in the annihilation of the Oasis Tribe, so he didn’t recognize Evangeline.

Evangeline closed the oil-paper umbrella and glanced at Gable. "The Witch’s mory isn’t very good, is it?"

That charming voice, tinged with a light, teasing mockery, sounded sowhat familiar.

Gable’s pupils contracted. He pointed a trembling finger at Evangeline and stamred, "You, you’re Flora?!"

His voice was full of shock. He truly never imagined soone could change their own appearance!

’This Flora... her thods are endless. She’s no ordinary Witch. If I didn’t know it was impossible, I’d suspect she was the reincarnation of the Beast God. Otherwise, the Beast God is just too unfair!’

Elias Moretti didn’t explain, simply saying to Evangeline, "Shall we go in and take a look?"

Evangeline was the first to step into the cave. Inside the dark, damp space stood several males with deathly pale faces.

They must have been Cecilia West’s males. Two of them were Snake Beastn from the Grymdale Tribe.

On the stone bed, Cecilia West’s pale face was beaded with cold sweat. Her eyes were shut tight in a coma, with only an occasional, thread-like moan escaping her chapped lips.

Just as Elias Moretti had said, the beast skin spread beneath her was soaked through with blood.

Most frightening of all, her high, swollen belly was now deathly still.

Evangeline handed the oil-paper umbrella to Elias Moretti, stepped forward to check Cecilia West’s pulse, and with a flick of her wrist, fed an Elixir Pill into her mouth. Her voice was cold. "It’s too late. We have to perform a caesarean!"

The mont the word "caesarean" was spoken, the faces of the males in the cave turned ashen.

If Cecilia West died, they, her Contracted males, wouldn’t survive either!

"No! We’ve never heard of cutting a stomach open! What if Cecilia West dies?"

"That’s right! If the cub can’t be born, then we’ll just give up on it! We can’t kill Cecilia West!"

"Elias Moretti, who is she? The Witch already said he gave Cecilia West dicine to make the cub co out!"

"..."

The wave of furious voices was almost enough to shatter the cave walls.

The males’ muscles bulged, their fangs partially exposed, as they stared at Evangeline as if she were an executioner. To them, while a cub was precious, Cecilia West’s life was more important. And now this outsider female was clearly planning to kill Cecilia West to save the cub. How could they allow that?

Suddenly, one of them pointed a trembling finger at Evangeline and shrieked, "She... she’s Evangeline!"

One of Cecilia West’s males had participated in the destruction of the Oasis Tribe and had seen Evangeline before.

"She’s a vicious female! Kill her!"

A cold glint flashed in the cave. The young Snake Beastman was instantly covered in scales, his body swelling abruptly as he transford into a giant, black-striped python. Its crimson tongue hissed, and fangs dripping with venom shot toward Evangeline’s throat!

Evangeline’s eyes turned icy. Her fingertips twitched as turbulent Spiritual Power gathered in her palm.

However, before she could make a move, Elias Moretti lunged forward. His hand, like an iron pincer, accurately clamped down on the Snake Beastman’s vital spot. The scales between his fingers made a cracking sound, as if unable to bear the pressure.

His scarlet eyes were filled with grim fury as he snarled, "Enough! Calm down!"

Elias Moretti took a deep breath and looked at Evangeline. "Save her!"

He trusted Evangeline.

Before the other Beastn in the cave could object, Elias Moretti had already struck.

His power was imnse, and he easily drove the other Beastn out.

Gable opened his mouth, about to speak, but fell silent when Elias Moretti’s cold, scarlet eyes swept over him.

The cave instantly fell silent.

Elias Moretti stood at the mouth of the cave. As he watched Evangeline’s figure, the shadow cast by his brow bone couldn’t hide the turbulent emotions in his eyes. His Adam’s apple bobbed for a long mont before he finally managed to say in a low voice, "I’m counting on you."

Evangeline didn’t even spare him a glance. With a light wave of her hand, a dical kit materialized on the stone bed.

Inside the kit were various dicines, a gleaming scalpel, and neatly arranged catgut sutures. Small, but complete with everything necessary.

She glanced down at Cecilia West, scalpel in hand. Without using any anesthetic, she made a light incision across her rigid abdon. The dull sound of the blade cutting through flesh and skin mingled with the sll of blood, filling the cave.

When she saw the gray wolf cubs twitching slightly inside the uterine cavity, the tip of her brow moved almost imperceptibly. She had delivered babies before, but this was her first ti delivering Beastman cubs. Her expression couldn’t help but show a hint of novelty.

There were three small, gray wolf cubs in Cecilia West’s belly, each only the size of a palm. Their small, wet bodies were rising and falling weakly, their natal fur matted with blood. Their heartbeats were as faint as a candle flickering in the wind; they didn’t look good.

Evangeline put on gloves, scooped out the small wolf cubs, and passed a breath of Spiritual Energy into them.

The Spiritual Energy swirled around them, and color imdiately returned to the cubs’ pale, bluish noses.

Her movents didn’t stop. She picked up the catgut suture, the needlepoint dancing deftly across Cecilia West’s abdon. The wound was stitched ticulously and neatly. When she finished, she even tied the end of the thread into an exquisite little knot.

The entire caesarean section took almost no ti. Performing surgery in such an environnt... it was a good thing the females of the Beastman Continent had such strong constitutions. Otherwise, an infection would have been guaranteed.

Just as Evangeline was taking off her gloves, Thorne’s cold voice sounded from outside the cave. "Where is she?"

Evangeline glanced back over her shoulder and answered, "In here!"

The next mont, Thorne and Caden Albright entered the cave, with Elias Moretti and a group of males following close behind.

Gable couldn’t squeeze in, so he stood on his tiptoes outside and asked, "How is she? How are the cubs?"

Evangeline pinched the soft scruff of a gray wolf cub’s neck between two fingers, lifting the little ball of wet, gray fur into the air.

The cub suddenly let out a yelp, its short legs kicking wildly in the air, full of Life Force.

Evangeline raised an eyebrow. Her long, narrow eyes watched the small life, and they suddenly curved into crescents.

She stood up and gently tossed the cub into Elias Moretti’s arms. "So, they really aren’t your cubs."
