Renee was, of course, just joking about the money.

The system had already rewarded her with two million.

Before her awakening, she would have taken the money without a second thought.

But now, she wanted to change.

’I refuse to be the vicious side character who drags her friends down to a tragic death!’

Seeing that Renee was unwilling to eat or accept the money, Evan Griffin suggested they exchange contact information.

Renee agreed.

Having Evan Griffin’s number would make it easier to see the tigers again. After all, Rory had saved her life today.

When she got back to her apartnt building, a few little mice and sparrows were waiting for her.

"Renee, you’re finally back!" Mary the Sparrow cried, flapping her wings and circling around her.

Jack the Mouse squeaked at her feet, "Renee, I brought tons of friends and family. They’re all waiting for your command."

Renee’s lips curled. "Well done."

Mary the Sparrow chirped, "I brought lots and lots of friends to help, too!"

Renee raised an eyebrow. "Excellent work."

Jack and Mary were overjoyed by the praise.

"Renee, do we start now?" Jack asked excitedly.

It was his first ti organizing such a large-scale event.

A faint smile touched Renee’s lips. "Hang on. I’m going to call so people to watch the show."

"Is there a good show?" Michelle Fuller’s eyes lit up.

Renee gave her the short version. "Last ti, Old Hag Crawford tried to set my sister up with so guy in his forties. Yesterday, she was spreading rumors about again, which really pissed off Ms. Dempsey. I’m planning to teach her a lesson."

"That damned old hag!" Michelle Fuller clenched her fists. "Destroy her!"

Renee stared at her furious friend, montarily stunned.

In her dream, every ti she said she was going to take care of soone, Michelle had been just like this—unconditionally supportive.

"You silly fool," she murmured.

"Huh?" Michelle said. "Renee, who’s a silly fool?"

"You are," Renee said, ruffling her hair. "The biggest silly fool in all of Zenvia."

Michelle pouted. "Why are you calling silly all of a sudden?"

Renee replied, "Silly in a cute way."

Michelle instantly brightened up. "So after all that, you were just trying to call cute!"

Renee smiled and took out her phone to make a call.

She called Rhea Dempsey and Dalton Jenson downstairs.

"What’s with all the mystery? Why’d you call us down here?" Rhea Dempsey had been in the middle of binge-watching a drama, right at the most exciting part. "You’re interrupting my show!"

Dalton Jenson followed behind with a scarf, catching up to wrap it around her neck. "It’s cold out."

Renee said with a grin, "You’ll see in a minute."

She turned to Jack the Mouse and Mary the Sparrow. "Okay, my friends. It’s ti to begin."

The complex where Renee and her family lived consisted of old-style residential buildings. They weren’t tall—each building had only five stories, with one apartnt per floor.

Old Hag Crawford lived on the second floor of Building Three. The army of mice showed off their skills. So scurried up the stairs, step by step, like well-trained mountaineers.

Others nimbly scrambled up the pipes on the exterior walls.

Rhea Dempsey and Dalton Jenson were dumbfounded as they watched a dense swarm of mice crawl out from the shadows.

"My God! So many mice!"

"How terrifying!"

As soon as they spoke, flocks of birds suddenly flew out of the trees.

"Sparrows, cuckoos, crows..." Dalton Jenson recognized several types of birds.

Nearby, a neighbor exclaid, "So many birds and mice! Is so kind of natural disaster about to happen?"

"It’s an on! Amitabha Buddha..."

Michelle Fuller found this hilarious and covered her mouth to stifle a giggle.

’This is no on,’ she thought. ’This is her Renee getting revenge!’

At that mont, Old Hag Crawford was still oblivious to her impending doom. She was at ho with her feet up, bad-mouthing her neighbors to her husband and daughter.

"That little bitch Renee just spouted so nonsense and made a hundred thousand? How is that fair?"

"Cindy, maybe you should learn from that little bitch! You could make that much money in no ti!"

Joy Warren, lounging on the sofa, was sowhat tempted. "I could give it a try."

Just as she said that, her head and neck started to feel itchy. She reached up to scratch and suddenly her hand closed around sothing small and furry.

Joy Warren looked down at what she was holding in her hand and shrieked in terror, "AHH—A MOUSE!"

"Don’t be ridiculous! That’s bad luck!" The words were barely out of Old Hag Crawford’s mouth when a mouse suddenly landed in her lap. "Mother of God!"

Old Hag Crawford leaped to her feet in terror.

As she stood up, she realized their ho had been overrun by mice.

The whole room was full of mice!

The sight of the writhing, densely packed mass of mice made her skin crawl. "How can this be?"

Joy Warren was having a complete breakdown, crying hysterically. "AHHHH! I HATE MICE! They’re so disgusting! Do sothing! AHHHHH!"

"Hugh Warren, what are you just standing there for? Kill these damn mice!" Old Hag Crawford snapped.

Jack the Mouse snorted. "Uncles, aunts, brothers, and sisters! This old hag wants to kill us, and she bullied Renee! Everyone, charge! ss ’em up!"

At his command, the mice sward over them.

"You got it, Little Jack!"

"Take this, old hag! See how tough we mice are!"

Bloodcurdling screams echoed through the apartnt.

"Help! Help —"

"AHHHH, I’m going to lose my mind!"

"Get off , you filthy mice!"

But no matter how much they thrashed, the mice clung to them like expert climbers.

Downstairs, Rhea Dempsey heard the screams and grinned from ear to ear. "Oh my, how pitiful. But pitiful people always have their hateful side~"

Renee slung an arm around her mom’s shoulders. "So? Isn’t this way more interesting than your drama?"

"Way more interesting!" Rhea Dempsey nodded enthusiastically.

Renee’s lips curved upward. "I staged this show just for you."

"My good girl!" Rhea Dempsey bead, reaching out to cup Renee’s face in her hands before impulsively planting a kiss on her cheek.

Dalton Jenson, feeling jealous, piped up from the side, "Rae, why don’t you kiss ?"

"Oh, get outta here!" Rhea Dempsey shot him a look.

Just then, Old Hag Crawford’s family of three burst downstairs. Their tear-streaked faces were contorted in horror, and their bodies were still covered in a writhing mass of mice.

They had thought that with more people strolling about downstairs, the mice would attack the other neighbors and relieve them of so of their tornt.

But they never expected their suffering not only to continue, but to intensify!

A flock of birds suddenly swooped down and started pooping on their heads.

The bird droppings rained down on them like snowflakes.

The neighbors, who had never witnessed such a scene, were all completely dumbfounded.

"AHH! A bird dropping fell right into Mrs. Crawford’s mouth!"

"What in the world is going on?"

"Good heavens! Did the Warren family offend the gods of mice and birds?"

So neighbors started whispering among themselves.

"Maybe this is divine retribution for all the bad things they’ve done."

"That family’s nothing but trouble. They deserve it!"

A few neighbors, worried the mice would get into their own apartnts, demanded that property managent call an exterminator.

The ever-alert Jack the Mouse issued a command: "Brothers, sisters, aunts, and uncles—retreat!"

The army of mice vanished like a puff of smoke.

The birds, however, were still hard at work.

With wings, they could make a quick getaway.

Mary the Sparrow led her sisters in for another attack, fiercely pecking at the family’s faces with their sharp little beaks.

Renee went to a nearby shop to buy so sunflower seeds to share with everyone.

After taking a few steps, she suddenly felt soone watching her from the shadows.

Renee stopped and turned around, just in ti to see a figure whip around and hurry away.
