The Archmage explained, leaning over a microscope. “Mana harvested from the life force of an intelligent species carries a remnant of that intelligence. It possesses a 'calculative' property. As I ntioned before, folding space requires calculations so complex they would need days or months of writing runes. By using human life force, the mana itself performs the necessary spatial adjustnts to keep the traveler from being shredded between dinsions.”

Sarah shivered. “So the mana ‘thinks’ the door into existence?”

“Exactly. A simple flower converting light into mana lacks that cognitive 'weight,'” the Archmage said. Then, a sudden, boyish smile broke through his weathered features. “However, we have just made a significant breakthrough recently. We have a working theory on how to open a teleportation door without a dungeon spawn or a human sacrifice!”

He turned and walked toward a heavy workbench where several labeled containers were kept. He carefully opened one, revealing a sight that made Sarah’s stomach churn. Inside was a fish-like creature with multiple, blinking eyes scattered across its scales, its entire body pulsing with a rhythmic, heart-like beat. It was otherworldly, grotesque, and deeply unsettling.

“Her Highness gave us this specific recipe,” the Archmage explained, unfazed by the creature’s appearance. “It requires the use of Abominations.”

“Erh... well, it’s a good thing we have a dungeon nearby teeming with them,” Sarah replied, taking a cautious step back from the glass. “The mana within magical beasts becos warped by the Witch’s influence after her arrival, twisting them into these abominations. Since the Absolute Being’s nature allows him to bypass the fundantal rules of this world... well, he is the Absolute Being, after all.”

“So, because there is a trace of the Absolute Being’s mana within these abominations, it allows us to ignore natural limitations?” Sarah asked.

The Archmage nodded enthusiastically. He moved the abomination toward an irrigation tank connected to the laboratory's indoor plantation field. He added a vial of acidic catalyst, and Sarah watched in grim fascination as the creature dissolved, turning the water into a shimring, iridescent slurry.

“Are we actually going to water the plants with that?” Sarah asked.

“Indeed,” the Archmage replied, picking up a pressurized sprinkler. He walked toward a plot of vibrant, experintal flora. “According to our calculations, this ‘Abomination Water’ acts as a cosmic lubricant. It should allow us to crossbreed flowers that are genetically distant without the standard penalty of spawning a dungeon.”

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

“But I heard that specific crossbreeding thod was already discovered by Sir Eugene,” Sarah pointed out, her brow furrowed. “I thought we were discussing the teleportation door spell?”

“We are,” the Archmage said, his eyes gleaming with scholarly fervor. “We are running on the sa principle, utilizing the massive, chaotic surge of explosive mana that is released the mont two distinct flowers crossbreed.”

“I see. So, thanks to the abomination’s influence, the mana is released, but a dungeon doesn't manifest to consu it?” Sarah asked.

The Archmage smiled and handed her the sprinkler. “Precisely. We catch the energy without the monster-filled headache.”

“But...” Sarah paused, the logic stopping her in her tracks. “If we are using that chaotic mana as the raw power for the door, how do we fulfill the calculation requirent? We still don't have the ‘intelligent-infused’ mana that a human sacrifice provides. How does the door know where to go without a mind to guide the fold?”

The Archmage’s smile didn't falter. He simply gestured toward a large, humming chanical device in the corner of the room, its brass gears spinning in perfect, rhythmic harmony.

“The spell doesn’t necessarily require human-intelligent infused mana,” the Archmage humd, tapping the casing of the machine. “What it requires is a ‘processor', sothing that can calculate coordinates and vector points with absolute precision.”

He pulled a smaller version of the device from a velvet-lined drawer. It looked like a complex, multi-layered compass made of brass and silver, etched with tiny, shifting nurals.

“This was designed by the blacksmith workshop headed by Mister Nille. Her Highness calls it a ‘chanical Calculator,’” he explained, placing it on the table. “Though this portable model isn't powerful enough for spatial folding, it proves the concept. For a teleportation door, we will need a massive, room-sized version with multiple layers of logic-gears churning through calculations simultaneously.”

To demonstrate, the Archmage picked up a simple jasmine flower. He began to weave a standard Voice Amplification spell on it but instead of casting it directly by crushing it, he channeled the mana through the device.

“Observe,” he said. “Previously, we struggled to set the exact volu for voice amplification spells. It was either a whisper or a deafening roar, depending on the runes logic. But with this...”

He adjusted a small dial on the side of the calculator. As he spoke, his voice ca out at a perfectly asured, crystal-clear volu, neither too loud nor too soft. The machine reacted to the mana in the air, its gears clicking into place as it churned out a series of numbers on a paper strip.

“So, right now it handles basic variables,” Sarah said, leaning in to watch the gears spin. “But you believe that if we stack enough of these devices, calculating different layers of equations at once, we can actually replace a human mana’s processing power for the door spell?”

The Archmage nodded vigorously. “Exactly! The calculations required for a teleportation door are actually quite simple in their logic; it’s the sheer quantity of them that makes it impossible for it to work on its own. A machine doesn't get tired, and it doesn't make mistakes due to exhaustion.”

“I see,” Sarah said, her eyes bright with satisfaction as she scribbled the final notes into her ledger. “This is a monuntal shift. I will write all of this into the imdiate report for Her Highness. She’ll want to know that her ‘calculators’ are the key to the new flower spells.”

“She must have arrived by now”
