“Your Majesty...”

“Hodwen, you disappoint .” The King of Lisat looked at Hodwen and shook his head.

“Father...” Hodwen bit his lip. He knew that when His Majesty spoke these words, he had completely lost his chance.

He had thoroughly lost his qualification to compete for the throne.

He hadn’t originally wanted this, but there was no help for it. The King of Lisat had forced him into this position.

He believed that what he had done was no worse than philia, but the King of Lisat seed never to glance his way. No matter how hard he tried, in the king’s eyes, what he did was never good enough.

Of course, if Hodwen knew how the king treated philia, he probably wouldn’t have felt this way.

So, this was the King of Lisat forcing him. He hadn’t originally had such thoughts.

A very dark thought flashed through Hodwen’s mind. All along, he had never considered going this far, but the king had pushed him to this point.

Of course, no one knew his dark thoughts. Oh, no, perhaps Liana would know, but no °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° one cared.

“Miss elf, may I ask how to address you?” The King of Lisat showed Liana full respect.

“Just call ‘miss elf.’ I won’t be staying in your human kingdom for long anyway,” Liana looked at Hodwen. “If not for Princess philia’s invitation, I would have left already.”

“I apologize to you for Hodwen’s discourteous behavior. I hope you can forgive him.” The King of Lisat bowed.

“King of Lisat, this seems unnecessary?” Liana raised her hand, and plants helped the king straighten up.

philia probably hadn’t inford His Majesty about herself, so he was simply apologizing to a foreign race because of Hodwen.

“As His Majesty the King, doesn’t doing this compromise your dignity?” Liana asked.

“Dignity? That’s the most useless thing. I don’t want to lose a friend because of so-called dignity,” the King of Lisat said.

“Oh.” Liana nodded. “Then, how did the King of Lisat discern that there were traces of a demon here?”

Liana asked with curiosity. She herself wasn’t very clear on this. Perhaps it was because he was a Judge?

Could he see more mana auras that Liana couldn’t see?

Liana didn’t understand these things well, but the old king’s willingness to speak about this was already good news for her.

“Due to so special circumstances, I have so understanding of the demon race,” the King of Lisat said.

“But this wasn’t a true demon; it was just part of their advance party,” Liana said.

“Indeed. Had I co a day later, I wouldn’t have detected these subtle demon traces.” The King of Lisat nodded in agreent.

“Defeating a demon doesn’t equal eliminating it. Even if you pierce its heart, even if it has stopped breathing, you can’t relax your vigilance. They can parasitize in many strange places, waiting for an opportunity. Only by using sacred magic to deliver the final blow can you truly eliminate a demon.”

“Sacred magic?” The King of Lisat glanced at philia. When philia’s mana had awakened, the king already knew that sacred magic had a very unique significance.

“I know many people can’t use sacred magic, so so dispelling, purification, or light magic also has this effect, but compared to sacred magic, they’re still sowhat inferior,” Liana said.

“I understand.” The King of Lisat nodded. Going forward, every person in the Lisat Kingdom must learn so magic to counter the demon race. This would be their most basic counterasure.

“Our understanding of the demon race isn’t extensive. We hope our elven friends can provide us with so assistance in this regard,” the King of Lisat said.

“Telling these things doesn’t have much aning, Your Majesty. I’m just an ordinary elf with no status in the Elf Forest, or rather, I’m at the bottom,” Liana said. “If you want to learn about demorkind. I suggest finding the nobles of the Elf Forest, the high elves. Perhaps they have so understanding of this matter.”

“Thank you very much for your suggestion.” The king already had this plan.

And now, philia was the best choice. She had elf friends, and her relationship with Princess Avira was decent.

After all, Princess Avira had co to comfort her at Liana’s funeral.

“Is there anything else you need to know?” Liana asked.

“Miss elf, what characteristics does the demonkind possess?” Oester asked at this mont.

Liana had previously ntioned the demon race’s advance party with a black crown on its head, but what did the true demon race look like?

“They resemble humans, but with several unique features. As I ntioned earlier, they have high magical aptitude and feed on mana, so their skin has natural luminous patterns. For example, fire attribute displays crimson like magma, wind attribute is erald like dawn, and dark attribute is purple-black like the night.

These patterns emit a faint light when mana flows, and the more powerful the demon, the more complex the patterns. Also, a demon’s body gradually crystallizes according to its talent. For instance, crystal-like mineral structures form on the forehead, hands, and shoulder blades. Moreover, most demons have ears longer and more pointed than humans, just like... elves.” Liana described the demon race according to the records in the original story.

“Hearing miss elf’s description, I can’t help but feel...” Oester didn’t say it directly, but his implication was obvious.

“The patterns on their bodies and the elongated ears are very similar to us elves, correct?” Liana understood the doubt in Oester’s heart.

“I apologize if this seems impolite.” Oester now acted properly, but Liana knew well that a scoundrel was still a scoundrel.

Others might be deceived by Oester, but Liana wouldn’t be. However, the questions he raised now were sowhat useful.

“That’s why we’re mortal enemies. However, there’s a fundantal difference between us and the demon race. Places where elves have stayed are full of vitality; the growth rate and health of plants are effectively enhanced. Where demons pass, they bring death. For example, plants wither wherever they go.”

“And most importantly, the foul mana aura around demons, once you encounter it, you absolutely won’t mistake it,” Liana said.

“I understand. Thank you for your explanation, miss elf,” Oester nodded.

“Is there anything else you want to know? Though my understanding of the demon race isn’t extensive either, and I can’t answer all your questions,” Liana said.

“Nothing for now. Thank you, miss elf,” Oester said.

“Since there are no more questions, I’ll take her to rest,” philia pulled Liana’s hand.

Liana was led by philia toward Gran Town, not far away.

Liana bit her lip under her mask. ’It hurt so much!!!’

However, Liana also wanted to leave this place quickly, so she endured the pain and stepped forward, arriving at Gran Town.

“Miss elf, I didn’t expect to see you again.” Liana hadn’t anticipated eting Loraviel’s mother, Miss Anna, as soon as she reached Gran Town.

“It is quite a coincidence...” Liana took a deep breath, slowly recovering.

“You know each other?” philia asked curiously.

It was normal for Anna to know philia, but knowing about miss elf was sowhat strange.

“The miss elf has visited our village and helped . She’s a very gentle and kind miss elf,” Anna praised.

“Gentle and kind?” philia smiled at Liana.

“Princess, do you know this miss elf too?”

“Yes, we’re friends. We’re just passing by and taking a short rest,” philia said.

“I see.”

Liana felt sothing odd. Anna didn’t seem like such a reserved person; she could chat well even with an unfamiliar elf.

But why did she seem sowhat hesitant in front of philia?

philia’s style had never been particularly strict, had it?

Why was Miss Anna behaving this way?

Liana completely failed to realize that this was because of herself.

After all, Anna’s daughter had special feelings for Liana, so when facing philia, Anna also felt a bit awkward.
