"By the way, Your Majesty, may I ask you a question?"

"What is it?"

"Are my parents... still alive?"

The plot had begun to change, the protagonist line had disappeared, and Liana wasn’t sure about the current status of her parents.

"They will co back, I promise you."

"I see." Liana relaxed slightly.

"As I said before, if you agree, you can beco my adopted daughter, a mber of the royal family," King Lisat said.

"Your Majesty, didn’t you just say that you’ve stepped back from ruling and won’t interfere in the power struggles between the nobility and the royal family?" Liana asked with a faint smile.

"But this was a decision I made while I was still in power, so it doesn’t count as interference," King Lisat responded cheerfully, "So, what is your decision?"

"I’m not very interested in royal status. It’s too precious for , and too troubleso. Besides, with my current reputation, joining the royal family would only bring harm to it."

"Most importantly, I still have my own tasks to complete, so I must give the sa answer as before. I’m sorry, Your Majesty, but I cannot accept your kind offer." Liana refused politely.

If the original protagonist were still around, Liana might have agreed and simply taken a step back.

But now, if she suddenly joined the royal family, Countess Ruth would beco more cautious. She wouldn't dare to make any moves against her, but it would still cause so trouble.

Moreover, her current position already surpassed what an ordinary royal status could offer, and she didn’t need the title.

"About magic, I’m sure peilu has told you much already. I won’t ddle in your matters. I believe you, Liana, can handle things well."

"Your Majesty, shouldn’t the royal family have greater expectations of ?"

Liana hated that feeling—being expected by others. It placed imnse pressure on her.

The two of them chatted idly for a while, but most of the ti was spent on aningless talk. Talking to elders could be quite exhausting.

"Your Majesty, I think that’s about enough for now. I’ll find an excuse to end the conversation soon."

But before leaving, King Lisat took out a bag of tea leaves and handed them to Liana.

"You said the tea tastes quite good, didn’t you? Take this and try it at ho."

"Thank you, Your Majesty." Liana took the tea leaves with both hands.

peilu had a mischievous look on her face, as if to say, "So you pretended it was good, and now you get this?"

Liana and peilu stood by the door and bowed to the King.

"Your Highness, Princess. Your Highness, Lady Liana."

The guards bowed to them.

"Sorry to disturb you."

They walked down the sa corridor as before, and at the point where the guards had first appeared, they ca across a man Liana didn’t recognize.

He was handso, with golden hair, and wearing an extravagant robe embroidered with golden thread that shimred in the sunlight, giving him an air of nobility.

This was Prince Lindwen Lisat, the First Prince of the Lisat Kingdom.

"I thought it was soone important visiting Father. It’s just peilu and my sister." Lindwen said elegantly, his tone light.

"When he speaks like that, he really does resemble King Lisat."

"Is Brother Lindwen here to see Father too?"

"Mm, just a quick chat about tomorrow’s matters."

"I see," peilu responded.

"Then I won’t disturb you," she said, giving Liana a playful nudge and walking away.

It was already close to evening, and they had spent a pleasant ti in King Lisat’s garden.

At least, peilu thought so.

Her father was extrely pleased with Liana, even saying such things!

"What’s the difference between this and eting a parent?"

Though, she thought, they had already t their parents countless tis...

Parents...

peilu thought about what Liana had asked King Lisat earlier.

"Liana, your parents will co back soon," peilu said softly.

But she wasn’t entirely sure. Still, she could guess. Liana’s parents had left for matters concerning Lisat Kingdom. Given their strength, it was surprising they hadn’t returned after so long.

Only her father knew the details. Even as a Lisat heir, she had no right to know.

"Mm..." Liana understood that peilu was trying to comfort her. "Don’t worry, I still have you by my side."

"I will always be by your side," peilu reassured her.

"Good night, Your Highness Liana."

Turning a corner, they found Loraviel waiting for soone.

"Loraviel?" Liana hadn’t expected to see her here.

"Loraviel?" peilu squeezed Liana’s waist, as though she was being playful.

"Your luggage is already in your room, Your Highness Liana. Would you like to show you the way?" Loraviel asked.

"It’s getting late," Liana glanced at the sky. "Tomorrow you have to get on stage, so let’s leave it for today."

"You should rest well. Tomorrow, many people will likely co to find you. As the one who can most change the crowd’s mood, peilu, you’ll definitely be the center of attention tomorrow."

"Don’t let them put you on stage and have you ss up. I don’t want anyone to target you." Liana pulled herself back into her usual posture, leaving her playful mont behind.

peilu felt sowhat empty, and now, there was also Loraviel around.

"That damn cheating cat!" Although Loraviel did not yet know Liana's worth, she would surely still try to get close. After all, it matters who ends up sleeping together first!

"Liana, I'm a bit nervous," peilu said.

"You've been an heir for so long, what's there to be nervous about?"

"Could you co over and chat with for a bit, just like old tis?" peilu asked, "If you don't co over, I might be a bit nervous tomorrow, and it wouldn't be good if I made any mistakes."

"Are you... threatening ?" Liana raised an eyebrow.

peilu pursed her lips deeply, "Why do you have to make it sound so bad?"

"No, no, if you don't want to, then never mind..."

"Just this once, I don't want to look odd in front of others because of you."

Since peilu had put it that way, what could Liana say? She couldn't exactly refuse.

After all, it's not a big deal, it's just sleeping together, it's normal for two girls to share a bed, it's not like they are of the opposite sex, nor are they a couple on a date, and they used to do this often as children.

"Alright," Loraviel said with her head down.

"By the way, Loraviel, could you take Liana's luggage to my place? I'll have a servant pick it up later," peilu said.

"I understand, Your Highness."

Was it Liana's imagination, or did Loraviel seem a bit down today?

After all, these past days, Loraviel might have seen a forr partner who could have beco a classmate co here, so she felt sowhat dejected.

"Heh, you still talk too soon." She still had so aspirations for Ibet Magic Academy, and seeing those people, it was normal for her mood to fluctuate.

"Thank you," peilu said cheerfully, taking Liana's hand and heading towards the room, "Liana, you still rember where my room is, right?"

"I can't quite rember, I only roughly rember what your room looks like."

"Are you kidding? Kosat Royal Capital is so big, getting lost is normal! Let alone finding peilu's room accurately, it's a bit too hard for you, Liana."

"Well, you better rember clearly this ti, you might co over more often in the future."

peilu joked as she led Liana through lefts and rights towards the room.

"Your Highness, and Lady Liana." A familiar voice ca from inside the armor.

"You're not Olivia, are you?" Liana looked at the person in front of her, clad in iron. Although she couldn't see the face, the voice was sowhat familiar.

"Lady Liana, what brings you here?"

In front of peilu, Olivia had to give so face to Liana.

"Does it matter to you? What about you, why are you here?"

Liana was curious, was her original position just to be peilu's gatekeeper?

"Whether or not, I am the princess's guard, just that the guard stationed at the princess's residence had so matters to attend to, so I ca to substitute," Olivia explained.

"Olivia, you're pushing yourself too hard. The festival invited you back just for you to enjoy it properly," peilu said.

"Protecting the princess is what every knight should do, and being able to do this /N_o_v_e_l_i_g_h_t/ perfectly makes happier than any festival," Olivia replied.

Liana was sowhat moved by Olivia's loyalty, "It seems I underestimated you before."

"I didn't expect Lady Liana to complint soone."

If it were usual, Olivia might have retorted, but in front of Princess peilu, she decided against it.

"Perhaps there will be more opportunities in the future?" Liana shrugged.

Liana entered peilu's bedroom, which was largely similar to what she had seen in the crystal ball before.

"The layout is still not much different from before," Liana said.

"Um... yes," peilu seed a bit distracted.

"Actually, there are so differences, but it seems Liana hasn't noticed them yet."

"Liana, isn't it the sa for you? The room is almost exactly like before."

"I don't really like having other things, just so necessary furniture is enough, too much feels very fancy and most of the ti it's not used, and cleaning up is more troubleso."

Liana looked at peilu's soft large bed, having traveled by carriage all day, which although was not bumpy and quite comfortable, for so reason she felt very tired and uncomfortable today.

"So soft..." Liana collapsed onto it, feeling like she lted into peilu's bed.

"Having traveled all day, and having to sit with your father for twenty hours, it's normal to be tired, but rember to take off your shoes when you get into bed."

peilu reached out and patted Liana's buttocks, then bent down to help Liana take off her shoes.

"This kind of thing, you should do it yourself, if soone sees a princess taking off soone else's shoes, I feel like I would be killed by their gazes."

Liana said this, but she honestly placed her feet on the bed.

peilu lay down next to Liana, who was lying face down, so peilu's palms were facing up, and as she lay down, she placed her hands on Liana's, holding her hands.

"I really am a bit nervous about tomorrow," peilu said.

"I thought you were used to such things by now. I didn't expect you to be nervous," Liana said with a smile.

"It's a bit different from before," peilu replied. "Previously, when I stood on stage, the audience was full of good people, all who supported , which is why I wasn't so nervous."

"But this ti it's different. Tomorrow, the most prominent figures of Lisat Kingdom will be there. Even if sothing unexpected happens, they'll use crystal balls to watch the festival in real-ti."

"There will be so unfriendly eyes on , and I'm a bit scared." peilu had officially beco an heiress three years ago. At that ti, she was only eleven, an extraordinary person. Because of her age, many people felt relieved and had high expectations for peilu's achievents at such a young age.

However, others felt that due to her age, she might not have considered everything fully, especially regarding Liana's matter. "It must be sowhat upsetting, like a child."

But in fact, peilu was just a child, and she too was afraid of others' malicious gazes. However, she had always endured it, never speaking out because there was nothing good to say, so she simply didn't speak. Liana could indeed feel peilu's hand trembling; her age really did show here—fourteen years old...

After all, this was still the prelude to the main storyline, and after the real story started, she was already sixteen, an adult in this world. However, perhaps because of the presence of magic, people in this world developed much faster than those Liana knew from Blue Star; though she was fourteen, she was actually more like seventeen or eighteen in appearance.

Liana gripped peilu's hand tightly, their fingers interlocking, "Then, I'll be watching you from below, and you know I fully support you."

"Yes, I know." peilu felt considerably relieved.

"Thank you."

...

Loraviel returned to the room prepared for Liana. The sheets and blankets were already laid out, and Liana's clothes were hung in the wardrobe.

"Are you going to sleep with Princess peilu?" It seed like a normal thing to consider, after all, they were childhood friends, and their relationship seed to have improved a lot recently, especially since they had specifically communicated through crystal balls before.

Princess peilu was very generous, always treating her well from their first eting to now, always thinking of ways to distance her from Lady Liana, making arrangents for her, compensating her.

But if Princess peilu knew what Lady Liana was really like, then the nature of things might change.

Loraviel neatly packed Lady Liana's clothes, trying her best not to think about it.

"Loraviel, what's wrong?" Naibet noticed the unlocked door as she passed by the room.

"Nothing."

"Are you okay?" Naibet observed Loraviel's pale face.

Loraviel took a few deep breaths, "I'm fine, maybe just a bit tired from sitting in the carriage all day."

"Then you should rest a bit, let help you with anything you need," Naibet offered.

Loraviel shook her head, "I can do it myself."

"So, what are you doing now? Aren't the clothes already hung? Why are you packing them up suddenly?" Naibet asked.

"Lady Liana and Princess peilu's relationship has beco much closer recently, so Lady Liana will be staying with Princess peilu for a while. I'm just packing up Lady Liana's luggage to take it over to Princess peilu's place," Loraviel explained.

"That's good, isn't it?"

"Not really... It's a bit not so good." Naibet realized her mistake, "Sorry, Loraviel, I misspoke."

"However, maybe it's good news after all. You can relax a bit during this ti. I'll see if there's anything special to do; if not, I'll take you around Lisat Kingdom."

"Good news, huh?"

To outsiders, that's probably what they would think.

"Thank you."

"But for Princess peilu, it might not be such good news. Lady Liana's personality is quite peculiar. Although their relationship seems to have eased a bit now, I still feel that Lady Liana will cause a lot of trouble for Princess peilu," Naibet said.

"Right." Having finished packing, Loraviel said, "Then I'll go deliver the luggage now."

"Be careful on the way."

As Loraviel walked towards Princess peilu's residence, she saw a familiar figure.

"Loraviel?"

"Lady Olivia? What are you doing here?"

After explaining the situation to Loraviel, Olivia also inford her that Liana and peilu had already gone in.

"And you? What are you doing here? Ordinary people aren't allowed in Princess peilu's residence."

Loraviel lifted Liana's luggage with effort, "This is Lady Liana's luggage. Since Lady Liana will be staying with Princess peilu for a while, I need to move the luggage over."

"I see." Olivia nodded, having also heard about this from Princess peilu.

"Should I leave it here? Princess peilu said a servant would co to take it upstairs."

"About that, the servants have gone to prepare dinner on Princess peilu's orders. Right now, I'm the only guard here," Olivia explained.

"Princess peilu only has one servant?" This surprised Loraviel.

"Since Princess peilu spends most of her ti away from the capital, having more servants would be a waste. Just one is needed to ensure the room's cleanliness," Olivia said.

"Then, shall I take the luggage inside?"

"Go ahead, it's fine. If there's any issue, I'll take responsibility," Olivia thought for a mont.

"Alright."

"It's on the third floor."

"Right." Loraviel, carrying the suitcase, headed towards the third floor.
