Now reading: Chapter 240: Sienna’s Fate Star from The Wandering Fairy, a Action novel by Frozen Over The Moon.

Staring silently at the vibrant star at the center of the fractal galaxy, Soren finally began to realize why the Whispering Dream didn’t want him activating [Eyes of the Fairy]. What he was seeing now… it should have been obvious.

From his earlier encounters with Rania who had offered him a cryptic warning, to now his even stranger interactions with Yvain, the first Witch, Soren finally understood a rather crucial truth: the Whispering Dream held no power over undead beings.

For only the living could dream…

Every ancestor who has ever possessed and passed on the Vessel of the Stars was here, orbiting faintly around the galaxy’s center. As they huddled around Sienna’s fate star, it beca obvious that they all intended to help their successor. But for whatever reason, their ability to interfere was limited.

Luckily, the Whispering Dream couldn’t interfere with them either.

Staring up at the distant star, Soren quickly understood why Yvain had reached out to him. She wanted him to be the one to do it.

Perhaps if I sohow ss with Sienna’s Fate Star, she might be able to escape SIlmar’s control… After all, the projection he was seeing there was no different from the other ghostly apparitions of her ancestors.

The theory seed plausible, but the question of how still remained. Before he could think any further, Yvain’s ghostly projection flew off toward the distant galaxy center, signalling him to follow.

Screw it… He sighed and expanded his Soul Realm. With [Eyes of the Fairy] still active, Soren’s concentration was very close to breaking, but he still managed to hold on—likely due to Yvain’s spirit influencing him in so way…

He imdiately went into channeling his anima into their proper ratios and imagining all the axioms according to their placents. Soon, an illusive blade ford before his very eyes. Soren took a deep breath then gently placed his feet above it, letting him hover in mid air. All around him, Venissa’s attacks were still coming incessantly—all of them blocked by Solyara’s protection.

Sensing the change, Solyara glanced at Soren once again. Her glassy, star-filled eyes locked with his butterfly trapping ambers. Even without exchanging words, both understood the other perfectly at that mont.

She nodded, “Go on. Nothing will happen to you—I swear it upon the Orbits.”

Soren didn’t need to hear anything more. With his boot firmly planted on the invisible sword, he gave the ntal command for it to fly off. Two other Fairy Blades ford above him, just in case he needed them.

His destination was clear: the spiral galaxy’s center.

By now, his vision was permanently clouded by endless explosions ringing all around him. None of them managed to pass through Solyara’s mysterious barrier, but the colossal blasts still shook his concentration slightly. This situation—it sowhat reminded him of his battle against Rodrick. Except now, he didn’t need to focus on both flying and dodging the attacks. And even more comforting, the Fairy Blades no longer required constant ntal control to keep them stable.

All that mattered now was reaching his destination. If he could sohow free Sienna from Silmar’s control, all of this would end rather quickly. At least—it would give Solyara enough ti and control over the subspace to prevent the enigmatic saint from fulfilling his goals.

Speaking of which… What were his goals?..

The question almost made him freeze mid-air. But it was one that truly did warrant such a reaction… After all, at any ti prior or during Myrin’s ritual, Venissa could have easily killed him. He was only a 2nd Circle magus while she was on the verge of becoming a Magister. What’s more, Soren never even expected Silmar to breach his one and only last refuge… If he did, Venissa’s initial attack in the ritual hall wouldn’t have damaged him as much as it did.

All of this to say, Soren seed to never have even been the Whispering Dream’s target this ti… There was sothing else the enigmatic saint was hoping to achieve…

But what exactly?..

The answers eluded him. Reigning in his thoughts, Soren decided to refocus his attention on the task at hand. Although his altitude only kept climbing higher and higher, Venissa’s attacks surprisingly did not cease. His field of vision was covered in sparks, as if flying through a fireworks show. And yet, none of them could stop him.

Solyara’s barrier was just too powerful.

More and more Fate Stars passed by him as he soared higher and higher. The colossal shining pearl at the center was now clearer than ever. Indeed, just as he had suspected, Sienna slept peacefully inside.

Eventually, he paused. He noticed her figure shining radiantly inside—pulsing in a strange yet hypnotic rhythm. The surrounding fate stars all seed to follow this rhythm, changing slightly with each pulse.

It took him a few seconds to realize why.

She’s obtaining another prophecy…

This was what Sienna experienced every ti she gained a vision of the future. Her Fate Star—it would experience a colossal alteration each ti… One that could quite literally influence the very existence of the Vessel of the Stars.

The spiral galaxy made of fate stars wasn’t just a random display—it was the embodint of destiny. Every star within the system holds its own force of attraction—a pull on the very fabric of fate itself. And their arrangent defines what the future could an… Sienna likely reads these constellations dwelling within her to interpret what’s ahead of the tiline.

In a way, one could even say that the history of the Fourth Age of Fantasia itself dwelled within this singular Soul Weapon. Every event—from the dawn of the First Year, to the present, the 1367th year—was etched into the orbits of these fate stars. All of them building upon each other to forge the future.

The Whispering Dream must have taken advantage of Sienna’s current state to possess her body. Soren theorized. If her prophesying ends, then perhaps she might finally have a chance to break free from his control…

Using [Eyes of the Fairy], Soren began to understand what was happening. Although Sienna did obtain visions of the future, the prophecy was interrupted by Silmar who used a certain skill called [Lucidity Loop]. From the information his mystic eyes were obtaining, this ability allows the Whispering Dream to trap soone in their own dream.

Indeed, Sienna’s prophecies acted similarly to dream divinations. It was then no wonder why the rhythmic pulse of her fate star felt so… cyclical. She was likely stuck visualizing the prophecy over and over again, with no end in sight.

As he thought of this, Soren also realized that [Record] had chronicled the rest of Silmar’s status page alongside Sienna’s. His eyes almost widened in shock, if not for his discipline.

This was information he never expected to obtain from this…

Focus… Soren reminded himself. The job wasn’t finished yet, after all.

Breaking Sienna out of her own prophecy was easier said than done. Since the projection of her that he was seeing wasn’t physically real, his magecraft had no effect. And even more annoying, he had yet to pay the sacrificial tribute for the Heartdrinker Sigil, so it was refusing to follow his commands…

Perhaps if I ask Tazzith to force it…

“That won’t work either,” a child-like voice entered his mind with an answer he didn’t hope to hear.

“Why not?” His frown deepened.

“Because that bastardly little jewel wants to conspire against …”

“.....” Soren couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Here he was, battling against ti while trying to find a solution to this MIstress’ dilemma, and the Daemon he was contracted to was having trouble controlling the pieces of his own Spirit Body?...

For a mont, Soren wished he could punch that damned Sovereign in the face.

“It’s not my fault, okay?! The Subterranean Shunning Grounds had its subspace strengthened significantly, so my connection to all the pieces of my Spirit Body was weakened. I can barely even communicate with you…”

Shaking his head, Soren gazed back at Sienna’s floating body—his thoughts in complete disarray. He could only think of one final solution, but it would require him to give up on the protections Yvain placed on him.

He smiled nervously. Why do I always have to do this…

Taking a deep breath, Soren let go of his hesitation and allowed [Eyes of the Fairy] to once again peer deeper. His gaze upon the unseen took a turn—this ti, his target was Sienna’s prophecy itself.

If she can’t break the loop, then I will.

In an instant, visions flashed through his mind rapidly.

Visions of a colossal mount piercing through the veil of the sky itself. Visions of an endless stream of stars pouring through the opening that the mountain had created. Visions of distant worlds…

What is this… The butterflies in his eyes danced wildly as more and more blood poured out of his orifices. His head began to spin wildly, scarred with newfound pain. And yet, despite it all, Soren couldn’t look away.

What he was seeing… It wasn’t just any fated future.

It was his future…

The more he saw, the more his expression twisted. Not into a frown, and not into a smile either… His deanour remained neutral, unsure of what to feel.

“What did you see?” Tazzith’s inquisitive voice buzzed in his ear like a fly. As one would expect from the Daemon of Knowledge, He was trying to pry out more information.

With a sigh, Soren finally replied, “The decision Cassia refuses to make.”

The words confused Tazzith, so He remained silent.

Just as the vision was about to end, Soren felt the tug of an external force siphoning at his anima. His [Eyes of the Fairy] imdiately categorized what it saw.

“The Whispering Dream…”

He was once again trying to interfere. But Soren already knew that. After obtaining his status page earlier, he beca aware that his presence still lingered on Sienna’s Star Fate, despite him currently possessing Venissa.

But unlike Sienna who obtained the prophecy through Dream Divination, Soren was only able to see the visions by acquiring the information externally. His [Lucidity Loop] skill couldn’t affect him!

Just as he had assud, the rhythmic pulse flashing endlessly from her Fate Star ended. The changes to the spiral galaxy had been finalized. Although Sienna herself couldn’t fully close the prophecy, Soren had fulfilled that condition for her, ending the cycle.

However, the cost was massive. In those short few seconds, Soren had peered into far more than if he had simply gazed upon a single spiral arm of the fractal galaxy. His mind… it was on the verge of breaking.

Without any willpower, his Soul Realm once again collapsed, breaking all his spellforms—he began to fall rapidly toward the void. And with [Eyes of the Fairy] deactivating from exhaustion, the distant projections of fate stars also slowly began to vanish. Soren’s gaze, however, remained fixed at where he was just earlier… Sienna’s Fate Star was rapidly becoming brighter and brighter.

A smile tugged at his lips. “She has broken free…”

“Indeed she has.” The voice that answered back wasn’t child-like, as he had expected it to be.

This wasn’t Tazzith.

This was The Whispering Dream himself…

Silmar continued, “It seems our ti together is over. We shall et again soon.”

Soren didn’t reply. After all, the prophecy guaranteed it.

He closed his eyes, leaving the rest to gravity. His exhaustion was far greater than he’d estimated. But he wasn’t at all surprised… This was the longest he had ever used [Eyes of the Fairy].

Just as he was about to reach the floor, a mysterious force drew his montum sideways until a vibrant white star crossed his path. Solyara’s blazing form continued to radiate the surrounding void, this ti orbited by three familiar figures—Soren, Myrin and Venissa. All three were unconscious.

Frowning deeply, she scanned the rest of the subspace. All the other temple sisters were still alive, but a few had clearly been turned into puppets as well. Thankfully, most of the Whispering Dream’s attention was focused on them so the damage he created was minimal. Moreover, no one perished in Venissa’s initial explosion attack, thanks to Her quick thinking.

But there was one subtle change She never expected… One that left Her deeply stunned.

Cassia… was missing.
