Chi Yu’s mouth twitched again, and his gaze grew colder.
Tu Kuan frowned, his eyes darting around. He glanced at the two big n sitting next to Chi Yu and suddenly understood: "Are you embarrassed?"
Chi Yu: "..." You bastard!
Tu Kuan continued: "What’s there to be embarrassed about among n? They have what you have. Besides, we’re all n in this car. Relax, no one’s going to molest you."
Chi Yu: "..."
Originally, Chi Yu had a survival instinct, but suddenly he gave up.
Why bother?
If you find a soulmate in life, just take a glance when you cross the Naihe Bridge and remind yourself to take a detour in the next life.
Tu Kuan noticed Chi Yu looking calm, his face normal, and his mouth no longer twitching. Tu Kuan thought since Chi Yu could accept squeezing in, he might as well endure too.
Just this endurance.
About seven or eight minutes passed.
Gradually, Tu Kuan noticed sothing was wrong.
He looked out through the car window and suspiciously asked the driver: "Why are there no buildings on either side? This is the suburbs, right?"
Tu Kuan had just casually ntioned it, never expecting to hear Chi Yu say nonchalantly from the back seat: "Hmm, at least you’re smart enough to realize we’re heading to the suburbs."
Tu Kuan: ???
At this mont.
Tu Kuan admitted he was stunned for dozens of seconds.
Completely unable to react.
Once he ca to his senses, he expressed extre confusion: "What high-end hotel is going to the suburbs, is it a haunted castle or a cliff villa? We’re not here to play an escape room, are we?!"
Chi Yu sneered but said nothing.
The thing behind him still threatened him.
It was a sharp blade, and Chi Yu wasn’t sure if the person threatening him with the knife would actually do it.
He guessed who might be behind this. If it was Wen Bo, his life might not be in danger, just a case of an eye for an eye.
But if it wasn’t Wen Bo, and instead targeting his identity as Quan Jin, then he was truly in danger.
Chi Yu raised his hand, and as he did, the blade behind him pressed closer. The threat was imnse.
Chi Yu raised his hand simply to reopen his phone and increase the volu. When he started the navigation voice prompt, Tu Kuan in the front heard—
"You are leaving the city, ahead is..."
Hearing the voice prompt, Tu Kuan was completely dumbfounded.
He turned back and imdiately understood from Chi Yu’s expression what was wrong. No way... Are they giving him such a big surprise?!
KIDNAPPING!!!
Tu Kuan couldn’t have imagined he would have a day of being kidnapped.
He first looked at the two big n beside Chi Yu, who were very calm, then turned to look at the driver, who continued driving calmly even after hearing the navigation prompt. These kidnappers had nerves of steel.
Tu Kuan tried to unbuckle his seatbelt, and at this mont, the driver glanced sideways at him.
Then, in the next second, the driver floored the gas pedal, and the car’s speed suddenly soared.
Tu Kuan, who initially intended to forcibly make the driver stop, was stunned by this acceleration. Speeding on the highway, any slight touch on the steering wheel could be fatal...
The naive Tu Kuan was scared senseless, and from the back seat ca Chi Yu’s calm voice: "Don’t worry, they’re after ."
"Who did you offend?" Tu Kuan tried to stay calm.
"I’ve offended many people. Which one do you an?"
"..."
Clearly, it was a very dangerous situation, yet Chi Yu spoke in such a relaxed manner that Tu Kuan wasn’t panicked either, suspecting Chi Yu must have a backup plan.
Right, Chi Yu was so smart, how could he let himself fall into external danger easily?
As Tu Kuan confidently thought this, he heard Chi Yu negotiating with the two people beside him: "How much did he pay you? I’ll give you double."
Hearing this, Tu Kuan thought it was a good idea and gestured ten with his hands: "Not just double, ten tis, would that work for you?"
Chi Yu said: "No, more than that and it’s on you."
"!!! Quan Jin, do you understand the situation? This is life and death! You’re actually haggling over money." Tu Kuan felt this shitty situation was beyond words.
The two kept up the back and forth, while the two beside them couldn’t get a word in.
The car’s speed was getting faster.
Chi Yu had already contacted soone and sent his location, staying mostly calm throughout, but couldn’t tell Tu Kuan, as his mouth might get them killed before they were rescued.
’Buzz’
Just then, Chi Yu’s phone vibrated, and a ssage ca through.
He picked up his phone to see a ssage from Gu Yuan:
[Buckle your seatbelt.]
The short five words gave Chi Yu a massive jolt inside—
Chi Yu was just about to reply to Gu Yuan when the person next to him snatched his phone away. Instinctively, Chi Yu wanted to grab it back, but the sharp blade on his back and the ssage content made him imdiately calm down and instead buckle his seatbelt.
This kidnapping was preditated, but it was not for money extortion; it was aid at Chi Yu, and so far, they showed no signs of violence. Chi Yu was almost certain it was Wen Bo.
Wen Bo intended to kidnap him and teach him a lesson.
The deep grudge from the beating in the holding cell last ti couldn’t easily turn into reconciliation.
What Chi Yu hadn’t expected was that Wen Bo would be so eager to act on the day he returned to Sui City. It seed that Wen Bo had been lying low for a long ti during his disappearance.
Amidst his myriad thoughts, the driver suddenly jerked the steering wheel sharply on the highway, a move that was suicidal. With the car swaying, everyone inside tilted in one direction.
Chi Yu had buckled his seatbelt, so he wasn’t jostled.
The two n beside him, however, were tossed about, their heads hitting the ceiling, and one of them slamd his face directly against the window glass.
"Damn it!"
The driver cursed: "Cutting off on the highway! Are you looking to die?"
After the cursing ceased, the car maintained its initial stability, and everyone remained unscathed.
Sitting in the front passenger seat, having witnessed the harrowing scene, Tu Kuan’s heart couldn’t take such shock. To think, Death was only a few centiters away; if the other side hadn’t corrected in ti, their car would have definitely overturned!
What awaited him then would be a horrific car crash.
However, just after he exhaled a breath of relief, another car ca chasing up from behind.
No sooner had one fright settled than a greater one followed. Tu Kuan turned pale, gripping the car’s overhead handle tightly.
"Quan Jin! Quan Jin!" Tu Kuan shouted Chi Yu’s na as they ca dangerously close to crashing.
Chi Yu fared no better than Tu Kuan, his face also pale; the knife had almost stabbed him. Such a thrilling scene heavily tested both drivers’ reflexes; if either driver reacted too slowly, what remained would only be chaos.
