"I’ve learned a lot from Miss Gu," Quan Yin said humbly.
Gu Yuan responded gently, "Mr. Quan is being modest."
The two didn’t really have much in common, but they managed to exchange a few pleasantries about modesty. Gu Yuan could deal with soone like Quan Yin, but didn’t want to play cat and mouse with him too much—it was easy to get caught up in it.
No matter how you look at it, this person had eaten a lot more als than she had. As long as he was associated with Quan Jin, he was an elder; even if not, he was at least a senior, having seen and experienced much more.
Casual chatter was fine, but she would be at a disadvantage in deeper conversations.
Fortunately, Quan Yin had other matters to attend to.
Yu Rujin planned to stay a few more days at the Gu Mansion, and following his mother’s wishes, Quan Yin left first.
Gu Yuan received a call from Xu Wei, saying that Quan Jin was coming to the company. After giving instructions, she coughed slightly, then set off for Yingcan Century.
...
"I thought the rumors a while back were false, but turns out they’re true!"
"What happened?" soone asked curiously, intrigued by the sudden exclamation.
The person replied, "Didn’t you hear that the Young Master Quan was going to enter the entertainnt industry, supposedly chasing so ’white moonlight’?"
"What’s that about? Who is this ’white moonlight’?"
"How would I know?"
"The key point is that Young Master Quan is joining our Yingcan Century. He’s here today supposedly to discuss a managent contract. Everybody knows Yingcan is the industry leader, with substantial resources and connections. Add his background, and it’s clear he’s set to debut on an illustrious path."
The gossip was endless, with all sorts of rumors.
But given it involved soone with the Quan surna, while people gossiped, no one dared to say too much.
Gu Yuan sat beside Xu Wei, without makeup, pinching the bridge of her nose. Having taken dicine earlier, she was now unbearably drowsy.
"President Gu, here’s Quan Jin’s managent contract," Xu Wei handed the contract to Gu Yuan.
Gu Yuan took it and glanced through, "Looking at it, one might think it was drafted right after World War II—it’s even less equal than I imagined."
Xu Wei smiled wryly, "Of course, but considering he’s from the Quan Family, debuting from our Yingcan is seen as our gain, due to his background."
Gu Yuan remained silent, closing the managent contract.
Xu Wei continued, "This contract was structured by professionals, yet Young Master Quan doesn’t seem to have any personal opinions. He wants to choose his own agent and team, and they must be exclusive. The company’s public relations team is expected to prioritize him. The demands placed by Young Master Quan are what only our top-tier artists are afforded, yet he’s just debuting..."
Noticing Gu Yuan’s quiet deanor, Xu Wei’s voice carried a hint of bitterness, "Whoever controls the money gets to make the rules, right? Well, he’s the Young Master Quan."
Gu Yuan looked at Xu Wei and asked, "Do you think he’ll beco popular?"
Xu Wei shook her head, implying, "I haven’t t Young Master Quan in person yet. Although they say he’s coming, he hasn’t shown up, so he might be a no-show."
Gu Yuan said, "I’ve t him; his hard qualifications are outstanding, especially his image."
Hearing Gu Yuan confidently comnt on his image, Xu Wei felt reassured.
She was initially worried that if he didn’t look the part, pushing him too hard might incur divine retribution.
If he couldn’t be an idol, he might have to turn to cody—not knowing if Young Master Quan would be willing.
Why bother, when being a wealthy heir is the best life one could imagine.
Now that President Gu praised his image, Xu Wei could finally let go of her worries.
"President Gu, you don’t look well. Do you want to go back and rest?" Xu Wei had noticed Gu Yuan’s low energy and decided to ntion it after reporting the matters.
Gu Yuan nodded, coughing lightly.
She shouldn’t push herself and needed to recover quickly.
To avoid encountering Quan Jin, whom she wasn’t eager to et—seeing him only aggravated her mood—Gu Yuan instructed Xu Wei on so matters, then left Yingcan.
Outside the office building.
Quan Jin, surrounded by his entourage, arrived at Yingcan Century. Though not initially planning to co, he wanted to make the pretense of entering the entertainnt industry more convincing, so he reluctantly went through the motions.
As it was all for show, his arrival was quite high-profile.
With so many people present, Quan Jin wore a mask and sunglasses, exuding a remarkable presence. Before even debuting, he already had the air of a popular male star.
