That night, Gu Yuan didn’t sleep well.
She kept having a bizarre dream, a dream that made her anxious, as if it was a kind of separation... Half awake, half asleep, it continued until a few minutes past six in the morning when she opened her eyes and felt a heavy pressure on her chest.
The quilt in front of her was piled up, and so weighty thing was pressing on her chest.
She reached out to touch it and felt coarse, hard hair. Gu Yuan, who hadn’t experienced such a situation for a long ti, was so startled that she pulled her hand back.
The next second, Chi Yu’s face zood in right before her eyes: "Yuanyuan, you’re awake!"
Gu Yuan: "..."
She finally understood why she felt so uncomfortable upon waking up; his head had been pressing on her chest the whole ti. His ink-black, coarse hair was sticking up due to his sleeping posture, and when he realized she was awake and looked up at her, he looked just like so .
"How long have you been lying on ?" She pushed him, feeling uncomfortable.
"Just a little while. I wanted to try out a softer pillow." He obediently got up, then uncovered the quilt on Gu Yuan. Her dress had been pushed up to her waist, unexpectedly exposing a certain area to him.
Gu Yuan calmly sat up, pulled down her dress, covering the area from her abdon to her thighs.
Chi Yu’s gaze lingered on the red marks on the inside of her thigh which got covered when Gu Yuan pulled her dress down. Imdiately, he leaned over and asked Gu Yuan, "Does it hurt there?"
Gu Yuan: "Where?"
"Here." He said, reaching to lift her dress.
’Slap-’
Gu Yuan smacked his hand away: "Why didn’t you ask if it hurt last night?"
Chi Yu raised his hand and swore: "There absolutely won’t be a next ti."
Gu Yuan couldn’t be bothered with his sweet talk.
It’s better if he doesn’t ntion it. Speaking of last night, although nothing substantial happened, it was close enough. He was so excited that he couldn’t calm down, and Gu Yuan ended up helping him since she couldn’t bear to see him tossing and turning all night unable to sleep.
If they had actually done it, neither of them would’ve gotten any sleep for the rest of the night.
But this guy was really pushing his luck, so much so that the skin on her inner thigh was slightly bruised, and it was still red when she woke up this morning.
After getting up and freshening up, the breakfast Chi Yu ordered arrived.
He had already set the table, waiting for her to co out. Gu Yuan put on so makeup and changed into a clean, tidy outfit. She didn’t wear high heels but chose a pair of flat shoes that Chi Yu brought.
He had anticipated her running around Sydney, so he brought clothes and shoes that were the most comfortable for Gu Yuan to wear.
The breakfast was exceptionally sumptuous.
She sat down, and Chi Yu handed over a box of ointnt. Gu Yuan didn’t look at the lettering on the box, wiped her hand, and asked, "What’s this?"
Chi Yu, biting a stainless steel spoon, mumbled softly, "It’s for external use."
Gu Yuan didn’t catch what he said. She reached for the spoon and asked, "What?"
Chi Yu spoke even more softly, "It’s for... the place that got hurt last night."
Gu Yuan paused mid-motion while picking up the spoon, then looked at Chi Yu and opted to take the cup of milk instead.
Their gazes t.
He didn’t look away. He felt guilty about accidentally grazing her skin last night; it happened too fast, he couldn’t help it!!!
Gu Yuan actually appreciated how thoughtful he was, ordering breakfast early and even rembering to bring ointnt. The little unpleasantness from last night had almost dissipated.
But then he suddenly said, "The skin there is so tender, it can’t take much of a beating at all. It won’t happen next ti."
"Cough..." The milk she had just taken a sip of unexpectedly choked her throat.
Gu Yuan coughed several tis, her throat itching from the choking.
Quan Jin quickly handed over a glass of warm water, as Gu Yuan needed it. She took it and had a small sip. Then Chi Yu shifted closer and gently patted her upper back: "Drink slowly, look at you, just like a child."
"Cough... cough, cough, cough..."
He really shouldn’t speak anymore.
If he continued, Gu Yuan probably wouldn’t be able to eat her breakfast.
Even drinking warm water, she choked, coughing several tis in succession.
Chi Yu’s hand was still gently patting her back, but Gu Yuan looked rather annoyed and pushed him away: "Go back to your seat."
Chi Yu leaned in and asked, "Yuanyuan, are you feeling better?"
Gu Yuan: "If you’re not in front of , I’d feel a lot better."
His thick-skinned audacity was beyond imagination: "I’m not in front of you, I’m beside you."
"..."
Gu Yuan’s sharp gaze landed on his face, and he gave a harmless smile, a row of neat white teeth on what was clearly a cheeky expression, yet his strikingly handso face made it look endearing.
After finishing breakfast, Chi Yu asked her, "Are you going to visit Auntie later?"
