During the coma, all his consciousness was swallowed by a huge black hole. No matter how much he struggled, he couldn’t crawl out from it; such despair was enough to kill him...
He didn’t know how long it had been.
He heard a familiar voice, followed by a beam of light shining into the black hole, illuminating him.
"Yuanyuan."
"Yuanyuan."
"Yuanyuan, save ..."
"Save ..."
He called out to her for help.
The beam of light shone steadfastly on him, but no matter how he shouted, how he pleaded for help, there was no response to his voice.
"Yuanyuan, save ."
"Why won’t you save ..."
"Yuanyuan..."
Despair was more dreadful than the black hole, quickly engulfing him, surrounding, oppressing, and corroding him from head to toe, even his internal organs, until finally his central nervous system, stripping away even the last bit of consciousness.

But despair ultimately remained despair; before the black hole could completely devour him, the beam of light extinguished.

In despair, he closed his eyes, waiting for the black hole to completely engulf him.
Yet, at that final mont, the beam of light that had disappeared shone again, brighter and hotter than ever; the light drove away all the cold, scattered all the despair, pulled him back from the brink of being swallowed by the black hole, carrying remorse and love, locks and chains...
The clock on the white wall was ticking away.
Just as the hour hand pointed directly to the number 6 at the bottom, the man lying in the hospital bed slowly awakened.
He opened his eyes with a scattered gaze, only briefly for a few seconds, his raven-black eyelashes softly fluttering as he blinked, then slowly closed again, with an escapist mindset seemingly wanting to fall back into sleep...
He could sense any movent beside him.
The blanket beside him was gently tugged, a small hand placed on the back of his hand, then softly patted him, calling out—
"Chi Yu."
"Are you awake?"
"Chi Yu, you’ve slept for so long, the sky outside is turning dark; if you don’t wake up, you won’t be able to sleep at night."
"Annoying!"
"Chi Yu, why aren’t you responding to again?"
At that mont, besides the newly awakened Chi Yu, the hospital room was filled with the continuous chatter of Suisui, like a little sparrow.
The escapist slumber didn’t last long; he opened his eyes once more, slightly turning his head, and could see his daughter with one hand resting her chin, the other on his hand.
After a few seconds of eye contact, Suisui smiled brightly: "Chi Yu is awake."
Chi Yu opened his mouth to speak, only to realize his throat was very dry; the simple sounds that ca out were hoarse and unclear. Suisui couldn’t understand, so she climbed onto the hospital bed, trying to get her ear close to Chi Yu’s mouth, eventually losing her balance and falling onto Chi Yu.
At three years old, she weighed over thirty pounds; the sudden weight on Chi Yu made him grunt and almost lose his breath.
Chi Yu lifted his other hand, trying to help his daughter up, but discovered it was attached to a blood oxygen monitor, helplessly, he asked his daughter, "Where’s your mom?"
Suisui lay there, reluctant to get up, her little hand ssily pinching Chi Yu’s face, confidently replied, "Mom is always around Chi Yu, but she said when Chi Yu wakes up, there are no clothes to wear, so she went ho to get so, and said she’d bring sothing tasty for Chi Yu."
Chi Yu asked, "How long has your mom been gone?"
Suisui shook her head: "I don’t know."
She couldn’t tell ti.
Chi Yu wanted to get up, but first needed to move the slightly heavy little one on top of him. But he couldn’t muster much strength right now.
Just then, Gu Yuan returned.
Gu Yuan opened the hospital door and entered, seeing Suisui clinging to Chi Yu, sighed helplessly, "Didn’t I remind you before leaving not to disturb daddy while he sleeps?"
Seeing mom return, Suisui was both frightened and happy.
She slid down from the bed, stood beside Gu Yuan, and said, "Mom, dad’s already awake."
Gu Yuan was stunned; it seed she didn’t expect Chi Yu to wake up while she was gone.
Her pace quickened as she approached the bed, then saw Chi Yu lying there looking at her.
He really had awakened.
"When... did you wake up?"
Gu Yuan placed the things she brought aside; her full attention was on the awakened Chi Yu.
Chi Yu replied indifferently, "Just woke up."
Concerned he was hungry, Gu Yuan produced a crock from the bag she had brought: "Mom had prepared this in advance, have so first, then let know what you feel like eating and I’ll order it."
Chi Yu didn’t speak, just watched her busying about.
As she busied herself, she didn’t forget to ask him, "Do you rember how you fell into a coma?"
"I do," he answered.
Gu Yuan glanced at him, noting his indifferent expression, assuming he was feeling unwell from just waking.
She opened the crock, slowly scooping soup, asking as she ladled, "And do you know why you fainted?"
Chi Yu: "Yes."
He t Gu Yuan’s eyes and said three words, "Because of you."
Gu Yuan’s hand, scooping the soup, suddenly froze.
