Jiang Xinghai thought Shen Lingxue was waiting for him to apply her dicine, a faint smile playing on his lips as he walked over.
But as he drew closer, he realized the woman sleeping on her side wasn't Shen Lingxue!
The woman's features were delicate and beautiful, bearing so resemblance to Shen Lingxue, but with a red beauty mark under the corner of her left eye!
'Could this be Lingxue's sister?'
Jiang Xinghai studied the sleeping woman, preparing to retreat quietly.
"Sis, I really don't need any water. Why are you here again?" Suddenly, the sleeping woman murmured, her eyes still closed. She was clearly talking in her sleep.
'Sis?'
Jiang Xinghai latched onto this important clue. 'So it really is Lingxue's sister.'
"But... I drank a lot of water on the road. I have to pee."
Just as Jiang Xinghai was about to leave, the sleeping woman kicked off her thin blanket and suddenly sat up.
Jiang Xinghai didn't hesitate any longer, but a hand landed on his shoulder. "I'm so sleepy... Can you help to the bathroom?"
The woman still hadn't opened her eyes.
Jiang Xinghai, of course, said nothing and simply walked toward the en-suite bathroom.
The woman yawned, her eyes barely open, and then, right in front of Jiang Xinghai, she pulled off her slip dress and plopped down onto the toilet.
'So fair!'
Even without the lights on, Jiang Xinghai could still see her pale bottom.
"Oh, right, Sis, take to the beach tomorrow. I haven't seen the ocean in ages." After she was done, the woman fumbled for the flush button, a look of pure bliss on her face.
It was a fully automatic toilet with a heated bidet function.
"Hey, Sis, how co you're not saying anything?"
Finally, as she stood up, the woman opened her sleepy eyes.
When she saw that the person before her wasn't Shen Lingxue but a strange man, she let out a bloodcurdling scream, as if she'd seen a ghost. It instantly echoed throughout the entire Shen Family residence.
"AHHH!!!"
The woman's shriek was ear-splitting. She was so shocked she forgot to pull her slip back on, and just stood there staring at Jiang Xinghai.
"One shouldn't stare."
Jiang Xinghai had, of course, already glimpsed the dense forest, forcing him to turn and leave the spot.
"Who the hell are you!"
The woman started crying hysterically, her sobs loud enough to tear the roof off.
"What's wrong!"
"Lingyin! What happened!"
Soon, Shen Zhengye and his daughter, Shen Lingxue, rushed out of their respective rooms.
They could both clearly recognize the voice as Lingyin's!
"Jiang Xinghai's bedroom!"
The pair's gazes fell on Jiang Xinghai's room in unison, as if they'd realized sothing.
"Lingyin!"
Shen Lingxue was the first to burst into Jiang Xinghai's bedroom, flicking on the light.
Jiang Xinghai was standing awkwardly to the side.
Before she could ask him anything, she called out again, "Lingyin, are you in... the bathroom!"
She turned to see Lingyin, who still hadn't pulled her slip back on. She went in and helped her with it. "What are you doing in Jiang Xinghai's bedroom?"
"Jiang Xinghai? That pervert is Jiang Xinghai?" Lingyin was furious, on the verge of a ltdown.
"Lingyin!"
Shen Lingxue grabbed Lingyin. "Did he... do anything to you?"
"As if he'd dare!"
Lingyin furiously threw open the bathroom door, marched up to Jiang Xinghai, and gave him a shove. "Would you dare lay a finger on ?!"
"I'm an honest man. Of course not," Jiang Xinghai said, taking an innocent step back.
"Hmph!"
Lingyin raised a small fist threateningly. "So 'honest man' you are, doing dishonest things! Just you wait!"
"Lingyin, you and your mother only got back in the middle of the night. You must have been exhausted, so wandering into Jiang's bedroom by mistake is understandable."
At this point, Shen Zhengye began to analyze the situation logically. "Stop all this shouting. First, you need to apologize to Jiang."
"Dad, you want ** to apologize to *him*?"
Lingyin shot another fierce glare at Jiang Xinghai, then looked indignantly at Shen Zhengye before covering her face and bolting from the room.
She was, in fact, Shen Lingxue's younger sister, though with a three-year age gap, they weren't twins.
Half a month ago, her maternal grandmother had fallen ill, so she and her mother had gone to stay in Central State for two weeks.
According to their plan, they were supposed to wait for Shen Zhengye to co and pick them up.
However, her two younger maternal uncles and her aunt often gave her and her mother the cold shoulder.
Left with no choice, the two of them packed their bags and ca back from Central State after dark.
By the ti they arrived ho, it was already midnight.
After a simple late-night snack, Shen Lingyin took a shower and went straight to bed.
Who would have known that, overwheld by exhaustion, she would sohow wander into Jiang Xinghai's bedroom as if possessed!
"Jiang, I'll let Lingxue explain everything. I'm going to go back to your aunt now."
Shen Zhengye pumped his fist with considerable excitent. It seed he had been in the middle of a very important "aerobic activity" in his bedroom, and he was clearly not pleased to have had his rhythm disrupted.
"That... was my younger sister, Lingyin."
Shen Lingxue let out a long sigh and gave him a brief explanation.
"I see," Jiang Xinghai said, smiling in relief.
Shen Lingxue, however, just smiled sweetly. "Actually, I haven't gone to sleep yet. I was waiting for you to put dicine on my injury. If you don't mind, you can co to my room."
