When the Jade Soul King saw Balmodan react angrily to his accusation, he beca even more livid. He did not believe the person was innocent at all.
After all, Balmodan seed so certain that he wouldn't be able to leave. If Thanatos wasn't the source of his confidence, then what else could it have been?
The Jade Soul King was very confident in his stealth ability. As such, he didn't believe that Thanatos could have discovered him unless he directly saw him in person.
Even if Thanatos was the Realm Lord of Gehenna, he was still a Peak Rank 6 Divine Being. Only Rank 7 Divine Beings could beco true Realm Lords. After all, only they could bind large celestial bodies such as stars.
Rank 6 Divine Beings could only bind smaller celestial bodies such as planets.
As such, the Jade Soul King didn't believe Thanatos' detection was so powerful that it could cover the entire realm of Gehenna. It should have only been limited to the Shadowcage Territory, where he normally resided.
Nevertheless, the Jade Soul King wasn't given a chance to think too deeply.
When he sensed Thanatos' death power gathering and shrouding the Wolf God Domain's atmosphere to seal off all chances of his escape, he could no longer be bothered with Balmodan.
The Jade Soul King quickly fled the Undying Devil Palace and soared into the sky, shooting straight through the tiny opening that wasn't covered in dark clouds.
anwhile, Balmodan watched the Jade Soul King escape without any concern.
Outsiders might not know, but all the Great Devils knew just how terrifying Thanatos truly was. Even if he wasn't a Rank 7 Divine Being yet, he was still the genuine Realm Lord.
As such, it was impossible for the Jade Soul King to escape Thanatos' grasp. The entire realm of Gehenna was his domain.

Just when the Jade Soul King thought he was safe from Thanatos' grasp, he sensed an unimaginable amount of darkness gathering all around him. The Gehenna Star's brilliance seed to dim as its radiating solar energy turned into dark energy.
In that instant, the Jade Soul King realized the severity of his situation.
"I-Impossible! You're not even a Rank 7 Divine Being! How could you draw out so much power from the Gehenna Star?!" the Jade Soul King shouted into the darkness of space, clearly agitated.
If the Jade Soul King knew Gehenna had a genuine Realm Lord, he wouldn't have stepped into Gehenna so confidently the way he did. In fact, he wouldn't have the courage at all!
Naturally, he wouldn't have given up on the Soul Master. However, there were other ways he could have chosen to achieve his objective!
The Jade Soul King regretted visiting Gehenna so hastily.
Shortly after the dark clouds completely sealed off the Jade Soul King's path of retreat, Thanatos' manifestation soon erged from them.
"How much do you know about our Soul Master?"
Thanatos' booming voice sounded, suppressing the Jade Soul King with sheer volu. However, not even a hint of noise escaped the cage of darkness he had constructed; it was perfectly soundproofed.
"Answer my question first!"
The Jade Soul King gnashed his teeth as he stood his ground, not showing any weakness. He was only useless when he had information that Thanatos wanted. Once he outlived his uselessness, Thanatos would likely kill him.
As such, the Jade Soul King didn't dare to share his information carelessly, even if he was at a disadvantage.
Unfortunately, he overestimated his importance in Thanatos' eyes.
"You want to act tough in front of ? Very well, you can just die then. I can guess you don't know much anyway."
"W-What—!!"
The Jade Soul King was instantly shocked by Thanatos' casual death sentence. He didn't think the latter would decide to kill him so readily before getting any information out of him.
Too bad the Jade Soul King didn't get any second chances.
Under Thanatos' will, the cage of darkness rapidly shrunk to drown the Jade Soul King in its dark sea of deathly energy.
Although the Jade Soul King quickly blocked the power of death with his own comprehension of the Death Law, his resistance was like trying to stop a tsunami with a thin wall of sand; it was quickly washed away.
The difference in the amount of energy they could command at once was simply too great apart.
The mont the Jade Soul King's defense shattered apart, he imdiately foresaw his impending death. But during their clash of deathly powers, he also seed to be enlightened about sothing.
"Stop! I know what you are! Do you think I will die if you kill —Ahhhh!"
The Jade Soul King gave his final cry before the wave of death completely devoured him, leaving behind nothing but a black ring—an interspatial tool.
Just like that, a Peak Rank 6 Divine Being was killed.
Thanatos was unmatched within his rank, not to ntion he was on his own turf. As such, the Jade Soul King's outco was to be expected. Killing him under such favorable conditions was nothing to boast about or feel proud of.
More importantly, Thanatos was interested in the Jade Soul King's interspatial ring. It was bound to contain so, if not all, of the Jade Soul King's possessions. As such, he brought it back to his true body.
'It seems Gehenna will be facing waves of fierce storms in the future…' Thanatos silently thought as he erged from his floating abode.
The matter with Nightmare had not been settled, and yet a new issue with Hades had already appeared. These were problems that had to be addressed and resolved before they developed into a bigger crisis.
Once more, the Great Devils of Gehenna were summoned to the summit for a eting.
However, with Abaddon dead, Helcan away, and Hecate in isolated cultivation, only phistopheles, Astarte, Balmodan, and Valefor arrived.
"What is the purpose of today's eting, Lord Thanatos?" Astarte asked curiously, seemingly unaware of the events in the past month.
"Representatives of Nightmare visited so ti ago, and just earlier, the Jade Soul King of Hades also arrived. Both Nightmare and Hades have been drawn to our realm based on rumors," Thanatos calmly inford the group, speculating, "These events are unnatural. Helcan is likely behind this."
