In the old book section, Vaan did not select a particular topic to focus on. He had covered all subjects. Whether they were plants, races, maps, or history, he had gained a general understanding of each.
To begin with, the old book section only covered general to basic knowledge. More advanced knowledge was locked behind price tags.
Even so, such rudintary knowledge was enough for Vaan to lay a solid foundation of understanding regarding the Myriad Sea God Palace. At the very least, he wouldn’t be stumped by mistakes and encounter avoidable troubles or dangers.
Of course, even if Vaan didn’t voluntarily look for them, they might still co looking for him.
Vaan still had yet to ascertain whether the Myriad Sea God Palace could shield him from the heavenly tribulation.
However, staying in Pangea and Gehenna would only put his people in danger.
As such, whether for seeking refuge, protecting the others, or personal growth, the Myriad Sea God Palace was an ideal destination.
After reading so many books for a week straight, Vaan also glimpsed the myriad pathways in cultivation. With the passage of ti, new paths were constantly being discovered.
However, newer paths didn’t necessarily an they were revolutionary or superior to older paths.
’It seems no other path can compare to Soul Masters, whether it is in terms of versatility or power...’ Vaan mused.
According to the [Introduction to the Supremacy of Soul], Soul Masters could do virtually anything.
Soul Masters were like conscious drears in their dream world; anything could be created or bent to the whims of their will. They weren’t shackled by the laws or reasons. In other words, they didn’t have to accommodate the heavens; the heavens accommodated them.
’Soul Masters in the [Introduction to the Supremacy of Soul] are described as the chosen ones, destined to lord over Chaos... Surprisingly, sothing like this wasn’t regarded as heresy and erased before it could even be published...’ Vaan thought.
After all, such claims were practically challenging the Lord of Chaos’s authority.
However, since such a book was permitted to exist, did that an the Lord of Chaos acknowledged it?
Considering the author seed to have a biased view about Soul Masters, Vaan couldn’t completely believe everything recorded within the [Introduction to the Supremacy of Soul].
Even so, he had to admit that it was also hard to refute the claims, according to how Soul Masters were described. They were considered gods beneath True Divinity due to possessing all the abilities of one before reaching such a state of existence.
’Once I learn the cultivation techniques of Soul Masters, wouldn’t I beco invincible?’ Vaan mused.
He had a powerful mind, but his limited abilities constrained it. If he mastered the Soul Master’s ability to manipulate everything with the mind, wouldn’t that be like giving his already powerful mind wings?
However, considering the price of learning Soul Master cultivation wasn’t cheap, Vaan had to accumulate plenty of contribution points and credits. As such, he also couldn’t spend too much ti at the Grand Hall of Knowledge.
Just the old section alone contained billions of books. Attempting to consu all of its knowledge at once would greatly delay his cultivation progress.
He could take things one step at a ti.
’I will need to relocate. The Fish-n Domain is not too suitable for ,’ Vaan figured.
According to [Soul Master Cultivation for Dummies], discovering one’s talent for Soul Master cultivation is recomnded before officially beginning. The most straightforward thod was to learn an auxiliary path that could resonate with the soul.
Auxiliary paths related to taste, sound, and sight, such as cooking, music, and painting, were so examples that could resonate with the soul.
Although the old section didn’t possess any books with cultivation techniques, it did provide directions. Such directions were more valuable than simply learning cultivation techniques blindly.
Vaan ultimately decided on the path of music, which was considered a language of the soul.
Despite his interest in learning other auxiliary paths, music required the least preparation, ti, and cost to resonate with the soul. He believed it was the most efficient and cost-effective path.
After all, he only needed an instrunt to produce good sound.
On the other hand, cooking requires high-quality ingredients, suitable cooking utensils, and considerable preparation ti before producing good food. Painting was also similar in terms of requirents and preparation.
’Since I have decided on the music path, I should pick the best hall to learn music. The rfolk Domain’s Grand Hall of Sound it shall be,’ Vaan acknowledged.
The rfolk were said to possess the most beautiful voices within the Myriad Sea God Palace. In order not to lose their natural advantage to other races, rfolk had researched the art of sound far more intensively than any other race.
The deadly combination of innate voice talent and advanced instruntal technique made rfolk’s sound arts indisputably the best in its field.
’Even if I don’t intend to sing, just the Grand Hall of Sound’s instruntal knowledge alone is an advantage I won’t find anywhere else,’ Vaan acknowledged.
Surprisingly, once Vaan decided to end his week-long reading session, he received another surprise.
Ding!
Once the new information was added to Hall of rit’s records and discovered by others, the news quickly rippled across the myriad seas of the Outer Palace, like a thunderclap, abrupt and shocking.
Many disciples revealed dumbfounded looks upon hearing it.
"O-one million books in seven days?! And they are even old books at that?! What kind of monstrous reading speed is this!? How is that even possible?" a horrified Junior Disciple uttered in disbelief.
Even if they were given seven days to read as many old books as they could, their count might not even surpass a thousand!
Yet... soone actually read one million such books in that ti!
"Bahahaha, what kind of achievent is this? What a weird flex. Give unlimited use of contribution points, and I can even read one million books in one day!" an ignorant Pufferfish-headed Junior Disciple boasted.
However, a Goldfish-headed Junior Disciple imdiately scolded him, "Stupid! It said old books! Do you understand? Old books!! Noble Vaan did not rely on Knowledge Potions or Divine Impartation!"
"Hahahaha, what an idiot," a Great White Shark Fish-man laughed and said, "Even if that body of yours can inflate a hundred tis its size, I’m afraid it will still burst after taking a million Knowledge Potions in a day."
"As for a million Divine Impartations in a day? Hmph! Even if soone offered it to on their knees, I still wouldn’t dare to accept it. That’s simply asking for death!" the Great White Shark Fish-man snorted.
Such an extre overload of information would burden the soul to the point of collapsing! It was simply life-severing! Soul-scattering! Foolish beyond recognition!
Only an ignorant idiot would be bold enough to attempt such a thing!
Besides the disciples who were greatly shocked by Vaan’s shocking feat, so were also extrely overjoyed by it.
"I knew it! Soone like Noble Vaan is destined for greatness! How could his heart and mind be affected by such a trivial setback, like you all said? I want to see who still dares to underestimate Noble Vaan!"
"Hahaha! Who said Noble Vaan was an unworthy rival of their lord? Co out! I want to hear what you have to say now! Can your lord read a million old books in seven days? Well, can they? Hmph!"
"Argh, these past few days have been so suffocating. I’m glad I can finally vent my heart’s frustration. So satisfying, ah!"
"I said, How could a Noble Being like Vaan possibly be ordinary? You people only know how to make annoying noises when the dragon is sleeping; once it wakes up with a mighty roar, ya’ll imdiately beco as quiet as mutes!"
