Vaan suddenly found himself back in the sa spot, not far away from the obliterated assassin’s location.
However, Empyrean Oceanheart and True God Galevyr were also present.
With a wave of Empyrean Oceanheart’s hand, space seemingly expanded, distancing the surrounding crowd from their group.
Shortly after, she made a series of hand symbols.
Threads of visible mana erged, and currents of water gathered, weaving together to form a revolving magic square, which duplicated into two parts. One part ascended above while the other descended to the ground.
Monts later, the two magic squares connected, forming a cubic field within the expanded space.
Ti stopped, then reversed, causing the scenery within this affected space to unwind.
For a mont, the temporal reversal seed to operate smoothly. Nurous disciples backstepped, the water current flowed in the opposite direction, and even the heavenly laws retracted their blessings.
Of course, it only replayed the scene in reverse.
The disciples outside the affected space didn’t suffer any sudden loss of mory or heavenly blessings in the past few minutes. It would be a different story if they were inside the magic field.
Nevertheless, when the scene reached the mont of the obliterated assassin’s reconstruction, the two magic squares suddenly shattered, and the magical power manipulating ti scattered.
"Hm?!"
Empyrean Oceanheart frowned at her sudden broken spell, not expecting her magic to fail at a ti like this.
Logically, such a thing shouldn’t happen under normal circumstances.
After all, she was an Empyrean God.
Beings at the True Divinity could manipulate destruction and creation, life and death, and ti and space. It was not difficult for her to revive a person or revisit an earlier event in a specified area.
Yet, her spell undeniably failed.
"Soone else has already tampered with the space and ti here, eliminating the traces of the past," Empyrean Oceanheart gloomily explained with rising yet silent fury.
Under these circumstances, she imdiately drew the conclusion that another Empyrean God had been acting in the dark, eliminating the past to erase all clues and traces.
They might even be the mastermind who orchestrated the assassination!
"Is that so?" Vaan furrowed his brows in doubt.
If the evidence of the past had been erased and even Empyrean Oceanheart failed to retrieve it, then it was naturally to think that another Empyrean God had secretly acted.
However, the rmaid Domain was Empyrean Oceanheart’s territory.
Was it really easy for another Empyrean God to act so stealthily right under her nose without her notice?
Although Empyrean Oceanheart wondered the sa thing, she didn’t have ti to ponder. Her expression quickly turned cold upon detecting several True Divinities arriving at the border of her territory.
"Hmph!" Empyrean Oceanheart coldly snorted.
With a flick of her wrist, a large spatial crack connecting to the outside of the rn Domain appeared in front of her.
"I have to receive so unwanted guests. Care to join , Sir Vaan?" Empyrean Oceanheart asked in a tone that was more demanding than suggesting.
Since Vaan’s life was being targeted, remaining by her side would be the best protection for him, even if they were to appear in front of multiple Empyrean Gods and other True Divinities.
"Sure," Vaan calmly nodded.
He just happened to be a bit interested in eting these other Empyrean Gods, who were also the rulers of the Myriad Sea God Palace.
After stepping into the void of space beyond the rmain Domain, Vaan expected the discomfort that ca with uninhabitable conditions.
However, the anticipated discomfort did not arrive.
In Empyrean Oceanheart’s presence, a domain of water was always present, accommodating all sea life.
"Have you co to provide with an explanation?" Empyrean Oceanheart spat into the void with a strong tone.
Within monts, several large celestial bodies appeared like star constellations in the void of space. The forms of Empyrean Gods appeared lightly illuminated and transparent, nothing like their true bodies.
Clearly, they were just spiritual incarnations accommodating the consciousness of the Empyrean Gods.
It was as if the Empyrean Gods couldn’t be bothered to visit in person. That, or they simply didn’t dare to.
Given the lofty pride of Empyrean Gods, the forr reason would be understandable. But if it was for the latter reason, then it could be the sign of a guilty conscience.
Within the rn Domain, Empyrean Oceanheart was an invincible existence.
"Oceanheart, you are too arrogant! It is not us who needs to give an explanation, but you, who should give us an explanation! What is the aning of this? You promised to protect the Prospective Sage, yet you let a mber of your own race make an attempt on his life?"
Empyrean Wavebreaker’s strong tone rippled across space and ti, causing the hearts of countless lesser beings to palpitate with dread and horror.
However, Vaan felt no such oppression or intimidation by Empyrean Oceanheart’s side.
Empyrean Wavebreaker’s oppressive voice only felt like the buzzing of a fly, insignificant yet still too annoying to ignore. Still, Empyrean Oceanheart’s fury, which had been boiling all this ti, almost erupted at once.
"You even dare to ntion that matter?" Empyrean Oceanheart gritted her teeth before roaring, "Are you trying to play the ignorant card, Wavebreaker!?"
"Do you think that if you feign ignorance, I wouldn’t know it was you who manipulated a mber of my race to commit such a cri!? Even tampering with space and ti to erase all traces of your involvent!"
"You’ve gone too far, Wavebreaker! Do you think being an Empyrean God ans you can act so lawlessly!?" Empyrean Ocean barked thunderously.
What!
Empyrean Wavebreaker had intended to pressure Empyrean Oceanheart into making concessions, but was imdiately taken aback by the flurry of accusations thrown at him. They were both shocking and outrageous.
"Did you feed your brain to the dogs, Oceanheart?! How dare you blindly accuse this Empyrean!" Empyrean Wavebreaker angrily bellowed, adding, "You spew a bunch of outrageous accusations and expect others to believe it?!"
"How do we know you aren’t making shit up just to cover your mistake and shift the bla?! Do you have proof!?" Empyrean Wavebreaker solemnly questioned.
"Do I have proof?!" Empyrean Oceanheart trembled with anger, and cold rage filled her glaring eyes, before she roared, "The proof was destroyed, and you dare ask for proof!?"
As the two Empyrean Gods confronted each other, invisible waves of divine power clashed. Their genuine feelings and thoughts were also conveyed through this exchange.
As a result, Empyrean Wavebreaker understood that, while she had falsely accused him, her feelings of fury were genuine, indicating that covert sches had indeed taken place. A manipulated rman and the tampering of space and ti after death; these were true events.
anwhile, Empyrean Oceanheart also understood that Empyrean Wavebreaker was innocent.
Empyrean Oceanheart and Empyrean Wavebreaker had been at loggerheads.
Did soone try to trigger a civil war between them?
Just when other True Divinities thought a battle would erupt between Empyrean Oceanheart and Empyrean Wavebreaker, the two surprised everyone by directing their attention to them.
"Who did it? Who violated the ancient laws?" Empyrean Wavebreaker questioned.
To seize control of a disciple through puppetry or mind control and force them to commit an assassination on an important target was beyond taboo.
Such an insidious act would seriously impact the stability of the Myriad Sea God Palace and the loyalty of the disciples.
"Tidefather? Voidcurrent?" Empyrean Wavebreaker ntioned the other Empyreans of his Fishn race.
"It was not this Empyrean’s doing."
"Neither was it mine."
Two deep replies resounded from the depths of the Fishn Domain as their whale shark and dolphin constellations briefly appeared above the heavenly do.
"Vastheaven?"
Empyrean Oceanheart turned her attention to the Blue Whale Domain, her tone evidently more respectful and gentle in questioning.
The Blue Whale Clan only had one Empyrean God, like the rn Domain, but it was the most ancient and powerful race in the Myriad Sea God Palace, naturally warranting the respect of all.
Rumble...!
After Empyrean Vastheaven was called out, the shadow of an ancient celestial being greater than the Blue Whale Domain itself seemingly moved, blotting out the light of many stars.
Even the Blue Whale Domain itself disappeared behind the darkness of a cosmic shadow as the form and movents of Empyrean Vastheaven beca clearer.
As it turned out, Empyrean Vastheaven was an absolute behemoth, containing the entire Blue Whale Domain within its vast and mind-bogglingly large body. Just the gaps within the ancient scars on its skin could form rivers of stars.
Two galaxies seemingly appeared as Empyrean Vastheaven opened his eyes.
Empyrean Oceanheart was awed ti she saw Empyrean Vastheaven’s true form.
Although she could adopt a form much larger than rn Domain, this was done through the use of hid Empyrean Power and Divine Ability. It was not her natural form as a rmaid.
On the other hand, what she was seeing unfold before her was the true body of Empyrean Vastheaven.
Such an enormous lifeform was truly a rarity, even in Chaos.
"Oceanheart couldn’t find out who tampered with the space and ti within your domain?" Empyrean Vastheaven casually inquired, but it directed everyone’s attention to the heart of the problem.
It was one thing if Empyrean Oceanheart couldn’t reverse a tampered spaceti region within her territory, but to not even know who did it as it happened revealed a much bigger problem.
If Empyrean Gods couldn’t even detect an intruder breaking into their backyard, how could they expect to sleep at night?
Who could rest easy with such an unknown enemy in their ho?
