The gang mbers, including Sam, cursed a few tis. Each grabbed a weapon and moved behind the fence. They waved at the approaching figure.
"What the hell, you got a death wish? Get lost, now!"
However, whether it was due to the distance, the person not hearing them clearly, or so other reason, the figure didn't frantically run away as the gang mbers wished. Instead, he kept walking closer.
This imdiately ignited the gang mbers' tempers.
"I told you to get out, are you fucking lost?!"
"Just kill him, no one will see out here in the wilderness anyway!"
As soon as Sam finished speaking, he suddenly felt a silver flash shoot towards him. Before he could react, a gang mber beside him suddenly fell backward.
"What are you...?" Sam instinctively began to say. Then he saw clearly: an arrow was stuck in the fallen gang mber's neck. He turned his head in surprise.
He noticed that the figure walking in the distance, who had held nothing just a second ago, now suddenly had a longbow and two arrows. And the mont he turned his head, the other arrow nocked on the bowstring slowly released.
Ti, at this mont, seed to be manipulated by so unseen deity, slowing down by countless tis. Sam could clearly see the arrow slicing through the air, leaving ripples behind it, steadily heading straight for his forehead.
Sam saw the arrow. He wanted to dodge. But his body wouldn't obey him, as if he were under a Stasis spell, stiff in place, utterly unable to move.
Thump!
As if a red-hot iron nail had pierced his brow, Sam, like his companion, fell backward onto the damp, earthy ground. Darkness swallowed his consciousness in an instant.
Lynn moved forward, firing arrows as he advanced. Each ti, he drew three arrows from his magically enhanced leather pouch. He wasn't firing three arrows simultaneously, but rather in a rapid, successive volley. Thanks to Comprehensive Enhancent and Swift as the Wind, Fast as Lightning, his speed was astonishing. The gang mbers, who had been so arrogant and boisterous just monts before, barely had ti to react before falling dead from his arrows.
However, the commotion outside eventually drew a response from the farmhouse. More gang mbers, ard with various weapons, rushed out. Lynn glanced at them; there were quite a few, about thirty.
But he put away his Kovir longbow and arrows. He let the swarming crowd of n charge until they were about twenty ters away, then quickly pulled out two Superior Dancing Stars and threw them to either side.
Boom!
The flas from the explosions imdiately engulfed several gang mbers trying to flank him. The materials used to concoct a Superior Dancing Star were double that of the Enhanced version, so its power was naturally formidable. The ignited gang mbers imdiately rolled on the ground, wailing. Their nearby companions were plunged into chaos and shock.
As Lynn threw the alchemical bombs, he simultaneously drew his Gwyhyr from his back. A cold glint spilled from the scabbard. With astonishing speed, he cut into the frontal assault of gang mbers.
This was Lynn's first ti employing the Master-level Cat School sword techniques in actual combat. It had to be said, Cat School swordsmanship truly lived up to its reputation as an improved version of the standard witcher swordplay, focusing on speed and agility.
There were no flashy moves; all stances and techniques were designed purely for offense. Coupled with the two speed-boosting specializations...
The enemies didn't even manage to block before taking hits to their chests, necks, and thighs, screaming as they fell.
Jaeger, hiding in the farmhouse, was terrified, not daring to even breathe deeply. The mont he realized they were being attacked, he'd ordered his subordinates to swarm the intruder. Just one person, what kind of trouble could he cause?
But he quickly realized he was wrong. Terribly wrong. His subordinates were vanishing like snowflakes. Thirty gang mbers, and less than a minute had passed, yet more than half were already dead or wounded. The person who had co to crash their party hadn't even lost a single hair.
Was this even human?
"What are you idiots standing around for?! Hurry and shoot him with your crossbows!" Jaeger turned to the gang mbers hiding with him in the farmhouse. Each of these n held a crossbow.
"Boss, he's tangled up with our n right now. We might hit our own!" one gang mber stamred, wiping cold sweat from his brow.
"So what if you hit them?! Who cares about that?! If we don't shoot that plague-ridden bastard dead, we'll all die here!"
The gang mbers swallowed hard. Their eyes, however, hardened. While they were all from the sa gang, their bonds were clearly not as strong as those of comrades-in-arms. After quickly grasping the stakes, no one hesitated anymore; they all pulled their crossbow triggers.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—
The gang mbers surrounding the witcher fell like mown wheat. However, just as they feared, they only hit their own comrades. They didn't injure the enemy at all.
"Quick, quick! Reload your crossbows!" Jaeger hoped his subordinates fighting outside could hold on for a few more monts.
But his hopes were destined to be dashed. He watched in horror as the witcher pulled his sword from a man's chest. Then, with a swift movent, he dispatched another subordinate attempting to ambush him from behind. That was his last man outside.
"What's wrong with you, haven't you...?" Jaeger's shout hadn't even finished when a silver flash suddenly shot in through the window. A gang mber, struggling to reload his crossbow, fell backward without even a groan, never to rise again.
This was just the beginning. Next, the gang mbers beside Jaeger all fell to the ground with arrows in their foreheads. Terrified, Jaeger quickly dropped to the floor, narrowly escaping. Peering through a crack in the wall, he tremblingly observed the situation outside.
Luckily, Jaeger noticed that the witcher, perhaps thinking all enemies had been eliminated, approached without any cautious stance, strolling brazenly into the farm. Jaeger turned his head. He quickly had an idea.
He stealthily crawled to the nearest fallen gang mber, picking up the dropped crossbow. Then, slowly, he loaded a bolt. When he finished, and looked out through the crack again, he saw that the witcher was now less than twenty ters from the farmhouse where he was hiding.
Jaeger took a deep breath, then suddenly leaned out of the window and fired the crossbow bolt.
However, the next mont, Jaeger watched in horror as the witcher actually caught the incoming bolt with his bare hand. Then, he turned and threw it back.
Jaeger t the sa fate as his subordinates. An arrow in his brow, he fell to the ground, unable to rise again.
