But in special circumstances, such as fighting against a blood-sucking creature, a witcher will voluntarily drink Black Blood. This way, if a vampire or other creature were to feed on them, it would also ingest the deadly poison in the witcher's blood and suffer a similar fate. After all, a double loss is better than a single win.

While Sirens and lusines are not considered blood-sucking creatures, the effect of the superior Black Blood potion once it had seeped into the stag's flesh would be the sa. After the potion was poured down its throat, the stag struggled even more fiercely. But with its four limbs bound and Lynn's knee holding it down, it was powerless.

Gradually, the stag's eyes grew vacant, and its struggles beca weaker. Blood began to seep from its mouth, but because of the special lure potion, the blood gave off a strangely fragrant scent.

Lynn dragged the now-dead stag toward the cave where the lusine lived. He didn't go all the way to the entrance, stopping about a hundred ters away. He threw the stag onto the ground and returned to his companions.

"All we have to do now is wait," he told them.

Gied nodded. The two of them sat on the ground and entered a ditative state. A witcher's ditation can not only slowly adjust their body to its optimal state but also allows them to awaken the mont they sense danger. Olve found a place to rest, leaning against a rock.

Ti passed slowly.

After an unknown amount of ti, Lynn suddenly heard the flapping of wings and a screeching sound in the air. He opened his eyes and saw that Gied had also awakened, sensing the danger. They both cautiously peered out from their hiding spot.

They saw two or three dozen Sirens flying out of the cave in the distance. One of them was much larger than the others—this was clearly the leader of the Sirens, the lusine. The group of Sirens flew above the dead stag, but to the trio's surprise, they didn't imdiately swoop down. Instead, they hovered in mid-air, looking around warily.

Lynn and Gied quickly ducked back down. Witchers didn't need to see with their eyes to "see." After activating their witcher senses, a witcher could still sense a monster's location even with their eyes closed.

Gied gently woke Olve by placing a hand over his mouth. Olve startled, but quickly cald down after seeing it was Gied. Gied gestured for him to be silent, and Olve nodded, lying down obediently.

The three of them stayed in their hiding spot quietly for several minutes until the Sirens finally seed to confirm there was no danger. Half of them then landed on the ground. But even after they landed, they didn't rush forward all at once, even though they were salivating from the scent of the special lure. They simply surrounded the dead stag, allowing their leader, the lusine, to feast on the corpse.

Although Lynn didn't stick his head out, his witcher senses allowed him to "see" the situation outside by sensing the positions of the different monsters. His eyes narrowed slightly. It was no wonder so Islanders worshipped lusines as demigods. Even if you ignored its imnse strength, a monster that possessed the leadership to command other Sirens was terrifyingly formidable and could not be suffered to live.

Just then, a new developnt occurred in the distance. The lusine, which had been devouring the stag's corpse, suddenly stumbled back a step. It clutched its stomach and began to vomit violently onto the ground. What it spat up contained blood. Clearly, the superior Black Blood potion that had soaked into the stag's flesh was taking effect.

Lynn gave Gied a look, and Gied understood. Then, like tigers descending from a mountain, the two of them charged out from their hiding spot.

The Sirens hovering in mid-air noticed the two n and shrieked as they flew forward to intercept them. But Lynn raised a hand, and an invisible wave of force, like a wall, slamd into them, knocking all of the oncoming Sirens to the ground.

Lynn placed his hand on the hilt of the sword on his back. In the next mont, a silver light flowed from the side of the specially designed scabbard. The master-crafted silver sword spun in a deadly arc with its master, then plunged into the heart of a struggling Siren. The Siren's eyes widened, but the loss of life prevented it from doing anything else. Lynn quickly pulled the sword out and ended another Siren's life.

Plunge, pull... after this repetitive but effective action had dispatched four Sirens, the rest of the Sirens who had been knocked down by the Aard Sign finally got to their feet. Their wings had not fully regained sensation, so they could not take to the air. But they used their advantage in numbers to surround Lynn. Yet, the blood dripping from the witcher's blade kept them from daring to rush in.

At that mont, Lynn's reinforcents arrived. Gied, a step slower than Lynn, finally reached the battlefield. He was like a giant bear, charging into the fray. The silver sword he held was closer to a Scottish claymore than a bastard sword. He raised the Bear School silver sword high above his head with both hands. In the next instant, he delivered the signature Bear School overhead strike. A Siren who tried to block the blow instinctively put up a hand, but its arm and skull were effortlessly split in two.

While Lynn and Gied fought in the front, Olve, hiding in the distance, was not idle. Although he was brave, he was not a witcher, so Gied had told him to stay behind and provide support with the heavy crossbow. The Sirens were too busy dealing with the enemies in front of them and didn't expect a sly archer to be aiming at them with a heavy crossbow from afar. There was no saying on the Isles that "using a crossbow is a coward's action." Aside from formal duels, crossbows were always used as a ranged weapon in battle.

Therefore, Olve, without any hesitation, shouldered the heavy crossbow, taking aim at a Siren trying to swoop down from the air. He gently squeezed the trigger, and a bolt shot out, hitting its target in the blink of an eye. The heavy crossbow's power was enough to pierce the Siren's body, and it fell to the ground like a kite with a broken string.
