Chapter 75: Brothers, I Really Like This One

"Actually, the reason I specifically sent soone to find you, Master, isn't that I have business, but that the guest who previously commissioned you to solve the haunting in the house has sothing they want to discuss with you."

Lynn frowned slightly.

He knew that if it were just an ordinary guest wanting to rent a house, Vim wouldn't have seed so anxious.

Vim's main businesses were banking and auctioneering, not specializing in the rental market.

Even if the house couldn't be rented out due to being haunted, he shouldn't have been so tense.

Unless the guest wanting to rent the house was no ordinary person.

But then again, this was the benefit of broadening one's network.

With the dwarven banker Vim's status, soone he had to curry favor with would definitely not be worse off than Lauxer.

Helping such a person with a contract would not only yield a large reward but would also be paid promptly.

Wasn't this much better than working for difficult commoners and risking a pitchfork?

Thinking of this, Lynn asked, "Alright, who is it?"

"Not a 'he', but a 'she'. Miss Triss rigold, the royal advisor of Teria, wants to see you," Vim said with a hint of sourness in his tone.

It was impossible for Vim not to envy the handso young witcher before him.

Anyone who had a slight understanding of Terian politics and cared about the situation in the Northern Kingdoms couldn't possibly not know the na Triss rigold.

This lady was the newly appointed royal advisor of Teria, a favorite of King Foltest.

Any rchant wanting to do business in Teria knew the importance of having a good relationship with this royal advisor.

Take Vim himself, for example.

If he could beco friends with such a big shot, Vim was confident that he could expand his family bank, the Vivaldi Bank, to Vizima.

Among the Northern Kingdoms, Teria was undoubtedly a power to be reckoned with.

Although it might still have so gap compared to top powers like Redania.

But compared to countries like Kaedwen, Aedirn, Lyria and Rivia, and Cintra, it was still much stronger.

Moreover, King Foltest was still very young.

He would likely rule Teria for at least another thirty years.

It was hard to say how far Teria could develop under his leadership.

But Vim was very optimistic about Teria's potential.

Although young, King Foltest, like King Vizimir, did not hold hostility towards non-human races.

Teria had thus absorbed many non-human races, contributing to Teria's prosperity to a certain extent.

In the future, Teria might even surpass Redania.

Therefore, investing in Teria was, in Vim's view, very worthwhile.

Unfortunately, the sorceress and court advisor didn't seem interested in him.

She hadn't even given them a chance to foster friendship.

This, it had to be said, made Vim feel very regretful and disappointed.

...

Leaving the Vivaldi Bank, Lynn arrived at the square outside.

The vendors in the square loudly hawked the discounted prices of various goods, attracting passersby to stop and buy.

At the sa ti, several bards stood on a makeshift platform performing, their songs and the sounds of their instrunts sounding sowhat out of place with the surrounding noisy clamor.

Lynn squeezed through the crowded people and walked outwards.

What he didn't expect was that the person who had rented the haunted house would actually be Triss.

But this also explained why Vim had been so anxious before.

Preparing a house for the royal advisor of Teria wasn't about making money.

What the dwarven banker feared was damaging his relationship with Triss because of it.

For a businessman like Vim, who considered connections as intangible assets, this was unacceptable.

Triss rigold.

A top graduate of Aretuza Academy, a mber of the Lodge of Sorceresses, and the royal advisor of Teria.

She wasn't like other sorceresses.

She had no prejudice against witchers.

She was a woman who was both passionate and gentle.

Although she couldn't avoid the political ambitions of sorceresses, if she had to choose between ambition and the person she loved, she would choose the latter without hesitation.

What was even more comndable was that this sorceress never chose to shirk her responsibilities when facing difficulties.

This was the case during the Battle of Sodden Hill, and it was also the case during the Great Retreat from Novigrad.

How could such a person not be liked?

Therefore, when he learned from the dwarven banker that it was Triss who wanted to see him, he didn't even ask what the contract was, what the reward was, where to go, what monster to kill, or how many to kill. He simply expressed his gratitude and left directly.

...

Lynn stood in front of the house that had once been haunted.

He stepped forward and gently knocked on the door.

Not long after, the door opened from the inside.

He had thought a servant would open the door, but unexpectedly, a head of red hair peeked out.

She wore practical hunting attire and long boots, an outfit that perfectly showcased the sorceress's graceful figure.

And while Lynn was sizing her up, she also noticed the witcher's unique cat-like eyes.

"So, you're the witcher who solved the haunting of this house?"

Lynn looked at the stunningly beautiful face before him, which was exactly as he rembered, nodded, and said, "Yes, but I think it would be best if we talked inside, if you don't mind."

"Of course, please co in quickly."

Lynn followed the red-haired beauty inside.

The interior decoration had changed greatly since his last visit.

It was obvious that Vim had gone to great lengths to make the royal advisor of Teria comfortable.

If one didn't know better, they would never have guessed that this house had once been rumored to be haunted.

Triss led Lynn upstairs to a room on the upper floor.

This room was arranged like a reception room.

She extended her slender hand and made an inviting gesture towards the sofa.

"Please sit down."

After the witcher sat down on the sofa, she asked, "Would you like sothing to drink?"

"Anything is fine, I'm not picky."

So Triss snapped her fingers.

The Wolf School dallion on Lynn's chest imdiately trembled violently.

The wine cabinet in the room opened by itself.

The cork of a bottle of Vizima Champion seed to be grasped by an invisible hand and pulled out.

Two transparent glass bottles hopped over to the wine bottle, each filling halfway, and then floated over to the two of them.

When everything returned to calm again, the Wolf School dallion, which had been trembling non-stop, finally stopped.

"Just a little magical trick," Triss said, sitting down in the chair opposite Lynn with her wine glass, and raised it towards him. "To your health."

Lynn also raised his glass, gesturing towards her. "And to yours, Madam."
