"...Spacious and open stone buildings, colored window glass, and vaulted ceilings make up the grand and splendid Vizima Royal Palace! An exquisite embodint of Mahakam dwarven engineering skill.

"And the White Hall! It is undoubtedly the finest part of the complex. Its na is very easy to understand, commorating the well-known 'White Raffard'..."

The guide Roderick had found, a court lady, walked ahead, introducing the history and allusions of the royal palace to Shani and Angoulê, giving the two newcors a wonderful atmosphere.

When Victor had co last ti, he had not received such a good sightseeing experience. Presumably, back then, the Lily Knight had not expected that the young man would one day step into the royal palace again.

At that ti, in Roderick's heart, Victor had looked like a disposable consumable, an entertaining clown whom the higher-ups would find fresh and amusing, then forget after watching.

Beforehand, he had absolutely not expected that Victor would astonish everyone with a single brilliant performance and obtain King Foltest's praise and recognition!

By now, in the Northern Kingdoms, the Dragonborn Bard already had quite a good reputation. Especially in Skellige, he had far surpassed Master Dandelion.

However, the interesting point was that his great fa ca from "Dragonborn," not from "Bard." This was truly a surprisingly hilarious story. When the intelligence personnel sent back their reports, the Lily Knight's first reaction was to think they were talking in their sleep!

Slaughtering a bear barehanded? Giant-slayer? Drawing his sword and cutting down a hundred people? They were all achievents that sounded fake the mont one heard them, but considering Skellige's fierce customs, this counted as a very normal phenonon.

Just as Toussaint was founded on chivalry and thus produced knights possessing all five virtues, the islanders who revered martial valor naturally produced mighty, heroic warriors in abundance. This sort of thing was very normal. Every few years, a new oddity would erge. At most, this ti, the target of the bragging, Victor, had a unique title and also worked part-ti as a bard.

It had to be emphasized that all of the rude thoughts above rely spun around in Roderick's mind. On the surface, he still liked and respected the Dragonborn Bard very much.

And so, the five of them entered the White Hall in happy harmony, amid laughter and cheerful conversation.

Having completed the task the princess had assigned him for this trip, the Lily Knight politely took his leave from the three of them and went first to report back to Adda. The maid serving as guide also curtsied and withdrew.

Looking around, Victor roughly estimated that there were already more than a hundred people present. The walls of the hall were decorated with tapestries, garlands, and triangular flags, occasionally stirring in the spring breeze.

Today's arrangent followed tradition. In the center of the great hall, the dining tables were arranged in a semicircle. Exquisite plates and dishes filled with delicious food stood upon splendid tablecloths, decorated beside them with flower arrangents and ornants.

Turning to look at the two ladies, Shani and Angoulê, he saw that they looked perfectly composed. His senior had seen the world at Oxenfurt Academy, and Angoulê had also attended quite a few banquets at the court of Toussaint. Once the unfamiliarity of the environnt was removed, neither of them was the type that needed soone to take care of them.

Calmly moving forward, the three of them walked toward the dining table to take food.

Taking a bite of bread and chewing it, Angoulê whispered, "Roderick isn't red."

"Treat him as red alert! Unreliable sources indicate that he isn't that simple," Victor answered decisively.

The leader and mber exchanged their brief opinions in very low voices while discussing Roderick, because there was no need for his senior to know about this kind of thing.

Taking a cup of red wine for Shani, Victor then poured himself a cup of grape juice. Later, he would be reciting poetry, so he would not drink anything stimulating first.

After taking food and drink, they walked aside and chatted. The young man had originally thought that the three of them would be an island at this banquet. After all, it had been like that last year. Without an identity accepted by nobles, no one would co over to speak with you.

Unfortunately, tis had changed. The Dragonborn Bard's reputation was loud enough, and he rarely appeared in public. As a result, people who took the initiative to co forward and chat with him ca in an endless stream.

At a banquet, avoiding conversation was unforgivably rude behavior. It was a kind of social obligation.

Nobles constantly recognized Victor and ca forward to ask after him, their tones both warm and false. They began with air kisses or soft, powerless handshakes, followed by standardized smiles and pleasant complints, then dull and entirely empty conversations.

The young man soon felt extrely uncomfortable. Although he did not intend to speak deeply with any of them, and very quickly expressed subtle farewells, rely listening to them express their admiration and affection unknowingly consud a great deal of ti.

Silently and without notice, Shani and Angoulê were even squeezed to the edge.

And the beautiful lady, referring here to Shani, usually relied on that "plague doctor" outfit to intimidate all heroes. Rarely changing into won's clothing today, she could be called a luminous body that naturally drew traffic.

Very soon, several n went forward to strike up conversations with her. However, there was nothing to worry about in such a setting. Courtship had to observe gentlemanly conduct. They were all Adda's guests, and the princess's status was enough to keep the scene under control. Besides, Angoulê was there to help.

So ti later, after finally dealing with another middle-aged couple and gaining a brief opening, Victor quickly took several steps forward and led Shani out of the pile of nobles showing their interest.

Hiding in a more remote corner to rest, the three of them recalled what had just happened and shared a knowing laugh.

Suddenly, his senior extended a finger, tapped her junior's arm, then pointed toward Dandelion not far away. "Look! Senior is over there."

"Wrong! Senior is courting soone." The young man corrected ambiguity into precision.

Shani rolled her eyes at Victor. What she ant was whether they should go forward and talk, while what he ant was not to disturb the man.

Checking the ti, he explained a few things to them and asked Angoulê to take good care of Shani. Then Victor left alone.

During the final short stretch before his performance, he wanted to find Keira tz and talk. Last ti, their eting in Sapopan had ended unhappily, and after that, they had not contacted each other at all.

When he had arrived at the White Hall earlier, he had seen the sorceress talking with Mayor Velerad. The young man planned to look for an opportunity to break the ice and also ask about the matter he had entrusted her to investigate earlier.

...

Before long, Victor found Keira tz beside a floor-to-ceiling window. She was leisurely sipping from a glass of red wine, with two male nobles beside her trying to please her. The sight of the two handso n competing with each other and striving to perform made her giggle charmingly.

Moving forward and eting the sorceress's gaze, the instant she clearly saw the young man's ordinary face, Keira's smile vanished at once, and her lips also pursed slightly.

Seeing this, Victor did not hesitate at all. He "placed a hand on his chest and bowed deeply," none other than the secret art, Tiger Landing Style! With this move, he had survived desperate situations many tis. Together with Donkey Rolling, it was one of his supre skills.

On the other side, when the male nobles discovered the sorceress's changed expression, they did not understand why. Thinking that soone had said sothing wrong, both of them imdiately beca sowhat frightened.

Fortunately, their unease did not last long. Keira quickly passed between the two of them and walked toward the person bowing not far away. She extended her right hand and held it out in the air. The other party gently held the tips of her fingers and symbolically kissed the joint on the back of her hand.

Then the sorceress and that young man walked out of the White Hall side by side.

The two n left ignored where they stood imdiately knew they had no chance. After glaring at each other, they each left.

...

In the late-spring garden, Victor and Keira sat on a bench, maintaining a proper distance between friends. He suddenly rembered that last ti, he seed to have sat here with Triss.

"You look very good dressed like this today!" the young man's voice sounded very sincere.

"...Is that so?" The sorceress's voice sounded a little cold, but compared to her silence while walking over, this was already precious progress.

After dealing with Keira a few tis, Victor had gained a little experience, which was that no matter what, complinting her first when they t would never be wrong.

Complints would improve her mood. When her mood was good, she was easier to talk to. Conversely, if he missed this step, her mood would worsen, and their communication would beco very unsmooth.

"It's true. You look very good like this. It suits you very well." The young man continued adding praise. Although the sorceress could not read his mind, she could easily judge whether what he said was true or false.

In fact, Keira's clothing today did indeed suit Victor's aesthetic sense very well. A high-collared, sleeveless pink dress, a scarf wrapped around her neck, sheer gauze sleeves over her fair arms, and a zircon ankh gleaming on her chest.

Hearing the young man's words clearly, the sorceress tilted her head and stared into his eyes. After watching for quite a while, she finally said in a stiff tone, "Forget it... say it. What's going on today? You wouldn't co looking for if nothing was wrong!"

It was not an illusion. Victor read complaint in Keira's words. She was complaining that he had not contacted her again after last ti.

From the young man's standpoint, he had felt that the sorceress was moody and had worried that contacting her would have the opposite effect, so he had chosen to let her forget on her own.

But from the way things looked now, Keira cared more that Victor had not maintained contact. Considering that this kind of thing was truly very difficult to explain, it was better not to explain and directly open with a topic that could divert her attention.

"There is sothing I need to report to you, Keira. Today, I t Thaler at Natalis Square. He told that Salamandra and the Scoia'tael are conspiring together and are pushing for a riot among the nonhuman communities!

"If this is true, Salamandra's trouble is no longer limited to biochemical experints. I am worried that when the riot occurs, those bioweapons will be released to add fuel to the flas and make the situation deteriorate further.

"I suspect this may be the main cause of Teria's decline in the prophecy!"

The sorceress closed her eyes and thought. Under the moonlight, one could clearly see that her eyelashes were very long, gently fluttering.

"Keep talking..." she said softly.

Then Victor began to describe his observations along the way back to Vizima, his chance encounter with Zoltan outside the city, witnessing the malice humans held toward nonhumans, the increase in Scoia'tael bounties intensifying rcenary attacks, his conversation with Ramsat at the Hairy Bear, learning that weapons might be flowing into civilians' hands, and although he did not directly ntion Yaevinn or Toruviel, the young man explained it as the movents of certain nonhuman friends.

Of course, the most important thing was still Thaler's warning. Although Victor had said at the ti that he did not believe him, in truth, Thaler's intelligence had filled in the final piece of the puzzle. In Victor's heart, he had already almost confird the inevitability of the riot occurring.

And now he was telling Keira so that the royal advisor could inform the king, allowing Foltest to make one final effort.

Victor believed that as the monarch of this country, a king who had remained undefeated for decades, if he could learn the true situation, he would definitely be able to make an appropriate response.

"You think this is the burning of Teria in the prophecy?"

"I believe this matter will not be small!"

Noticing that the anger between Keira's brows had already dissipated, Victor suddenly thought that she was actually a very easy-to-get-along-with sorceress?

The sorceress stretched lazily and sighed, raising both hands and revealing her smooth underarms. "All right! Thanks to you, my wonderful night is over. I originally planned to listen to what you would sing tonight, but it seems I must leave.

"The news you brought today is very valuable. I should thank you. If it can really prevent certain disasters from happening,"

She suddenly leaned close to Victor's ear. The fragrance of rosemary filled his chest, and Victor could not help holding his breath.

"I will give you a very generous reward! The reward you want most, oh?"

From solemnity to seduction, this attack ca too suddenly. Victor involuntarily swallowed. He had not expected the sorceress's next question to be even more eccentric.

"By the way, the woman you brought today is very beautiful. I know she is Shani from Redania. Is she your girlfriend? I heard that you started dating last year, and that you used this to attack Thaler, saying he frad you because he was jealous, right?"

Danger! A powerful sense of crisis rose sharply!

When Keira spoke, her smile was sweet, but after three lifetis as a human, Victor extracted the wisdom of countless predecessors from his first life's mories, including but not limited to: "Beautiful won are especially good at deceiving people!" "Everything pink is black when cut open!" "Never ntion another woman in front of one woman!"

"You've misunderstood. Last year, I only said that to protect myself. Lady Shani and I are not dating, just very good friends. Besides, as you know, I have already made my Decision and will soon mutate into a witcher."

Given the sorceress's mind-reading ability, Victor very carefully ensured that every single word he said was true, only full of misdirection! Although he could not lie, he could let the sorceress deceive herself.

"Is that so? I saw you co to the banquet with her, and your behavior was quite close. Actually, I feel there could be sothing there. Besides, haven't you not mutated yet?"

Victor blinked. The faint sense of crisis grew increasingly strong. From the mont he had entered the hall, Keira had actually been watching his movents!?

"...But I will mutate in the end. I am not the best choice. She and I are more suited to being friends."

Keira narrowed her eyes and stared at the young man for quite a while. Suddenly, she reached out and ruffled Victor's blond hair.

"You're quite a good person!" the sorceress said.

Victor rubbed his nose.

"I am still looking through docunts for the matter you entrusted to investigate last ti. It may take so ti." Keira's voice beca very light and cheerful. That faint sense of crisis finally disappeared.

"It's fine. I'm already very grateful that you're willing to help. Didn't Triss co to the banquet today?" Rising from the bench, Victor suddenly rembered the scene last ti and casually asked.

The sa situation from last ti was also awakened in Keira's mind. She smiled brilliantly and cast a spell, opening a portal with a boom. "How could Triss have ti to attend? She is busy venting her long-suppressed maternal love by disciplining that child Geralt brought, Alvin. So this matter can only be left to , Keira tz, to resolve."

Hearing the boy's na, "Alvin," again, Victor was startled. Just as he wanted to ask for more details, Keira had already passed through the portal and disappeared from the back garden.
