[Chapter Size: 2100 Words.]

Third Person POV

Skellige.

...

...

"I know you seem quite amused there, but that's enough." Madara said, cutting off the woman who was throwing herself against the bloodied body at his feet, while his arm caught her wrist.

The sorcerer groaned with faint sounds, he seed to have given up, no longer resisting the attacks the vampire was inflicting on him, torturing him. Even though they were light attacks, avoiding any fatal blow.

Vilgefortz was in no easy situation there. He was full of wounds, looking like a pulp of blood, since the vampire had spared no part of his body from being hurt.

Eleanor looked at Madara as if she wanted to continue. "Enough of this. Don't make have to stop you..." The Uchiha spoke in such a threatening tone that it made Eleanor hesitate instantly, before her claws began to retract.

Her appearance began to beco more human the next mont. She started to lose her vampiric form as Madara nodded in satisfaction.

"Now step aside." He said.

She took a few steps back while Madara approached Vilgefortz's body on the ground. He pointed his hand at him and his palm began to emit a green glow.

Eleanor had not made it easy for him, the vampire had taken pleasure in torturing him, tossing him from one side to the other, tearing and cutting parts of his body, for she had no rcy on the sorcerer who killed her daughter.

Madara healed him a little, just enough to keep him from dying of blood loss. He couldn't use too much healing chakra, otherwise he would have also healed the wounds he had inflicted years ago on that man. He did just enough for him to survive what he was about to do.

"Now let's see what this one has of interest, in his mind." Madara made him look at the Uchiha, while his eyes studied the eyes of the forr mage.

Vilgefortz's gaze was empty and dead, as if he had already given up. In the end, the man had beco an empty shell. His last attempt had failed and now he was in the hands of the enemy he hated the most, once again, with no chance of escape after seeing his powers returned by ti.

How could he survive? What could he do now? There was nothing. In the end, the story of the great mage Vilgefortz ended like this.

"Just get it over with..." That was all Vilgefortz managed to say in the end.

Ciri also approached, looking at the man without pity, while Madara activated his mangekyō, staring into those empty eyes. The next mont, he penetrated Vilgefortz's mind.

"Now let's uncover all your secrets." Madara said with indifference.

The mage's mind was full of defenses, even without magic, it was more guarded than any other sorcerer, but he began to break through them easily. He didn't need much more than a three-tomoe Sharingan for that, but he was using the Mangekyō, so it was much faster.

He began to see Vilgefortz's childhood, his desire for power, the loneliness of that ti. He had been trained by mages once they realized his talent, both for magic and sorcery itself.

Vilgefortz trained for decades. He beca reclusive, imrsed in mastering the power of chaos and even developed new spells, at the sa ti becoming very powerful.

Then, he began to seek even more power; becoming a sorcerer at his peak was not enough. He saw that magic was interesting and gave him power, he had gotten where he was thanks to it, but to truly beco great he needed more.

So he entered politics. He began to attend balls and social gatherings that would give him powerful contacts. He achieved this through the few people he knew at the ti, since he had been a very reserved sorcerer in recent decades, but he quickly began to gain access to kings, princes, and nobles. He also t other sorceresses and sorcerers, as well as leaders of organizations across the continent...

It was easy for him, as he had a natural talent for captivating his listeners with his ideas, using his charm and charisma to make people like him easily.

Vilgefortz began to realize that the world could be his.

He advised and worked with kings, with powerful people, with influential sorcerers from all over the continent.

However, he wanted more. He always wanted more power. He looked at kings with envy as they sat at their high tables and in central positions. He wanted to be wearing a crown, he wanted people to look at him with even more adoration, that no one would ever despise him.

No... he wanted even more than that. He desired total control of the continent. He wanted all kings to lick his boots, for sorcerers and everyone else to do the sa. That no one could contradict him.

At social gatherings, when there was any discussion against him, he always debated amicably, but he hated being contested and questioned, he hated being opposed. He wanted absolute will, that his word would be law.

So, he began researching, searching for sothing that could increase his strength even further, which already reached that of a mage at the ti, he needed more power.

He no longer needed social gatherings and contacts, he needed more power. But, as a sorcerer and mage, there was a limitation, and he wanted to break that barrier. He began to investigate ancient lineages, forgotten runes of the elves, until he found one na in particular: Lara Dorren. According to legend, she carried unimaginable power, traveling from another world, an elf unlike any other in the continent, from a race called Aen Elle, who fell in love with a human, married him, and established the lineage that later beca known as the royal family of Cintra.

He deepened his research until he ca to Pavetta, pregnant by a strange man. Later, he discovered that this man was not ordinary at all, but rather soone from the high nobility of Nilfgaard, cursed by his own peers, and whose curse had been broken by a witcher of the School of the Wolf.

Vilgefortz went after that man. He discovered that he had ambitions as great as his own, very similar, so he persuaded him when he spoke about the prophecy: 'from the elder blood would co the ruler of all worlds.'

The elder blood was the power he wanted from then on. The power that could change everything, that could make him rule over all. He thought he could be the chosen one, or perhaps even the child, if he could obtain the child of the elder blood and raise it as his own. Which could also be difficult, since sorcerers and mages do not produce children.

However, things went wrong when Pavetta discovered their plan. Emhyr had to leave Cintra and his daughter behind. Queen Calanthe seed to know about Vilgefortz's sches, protecting the girl and even banning him from entering Cintra — his sighting within Cintra's borders would be t with steel.

He didn't know how she had found out, but he could do nothing other than watch from a distance. He was left in the dark, waiting for the girl to grow, researching ways to try to take the power for himself.

He also discovered that trying to produce a child was practically impossible for him. He would never succeed. So, he began to seek another way: he would attempt to capture the power through the female placenta, believing it to be easier. Through his research, he began to experint on young girls he captured over the years, torturing them and discarding them as if they were nothing in his eyes. Vilgefortz was never a moral man.

He helped Emhyr as much as he could to advance to the throne of Nilfgaard. Later, he whispered in his ear to expand the empire, to conquer the North, though he hardly needed to convince him — the man already seed far too greedy in wanting the North as well.

A promise of eternal glory, with the whole continent under the banner of Nilfgaard, and a son who would rule over everything — that was what Vilgefortz made Emhyr believe: that it would be his grandson who would inherit the destiny to rule all worlds.

Then, Vilgefortz began helping Nilfgaard, preparing the attack. He restricted all communications of scouts and ssengers who could have warned of an imminent attack and of the true strength of Nilfgaard. He also convinced kings not to aid Cintra from the North.

They were not very willing to do so already, but he ensured that no help would be sent to Cintra. Calanthe was not very beloved among the other kings, even though she possessed the largest kingdom of the North at the ti, and that blinded her as well.

The attack on Cintra would be the perfect opportunity to kidnap the girl. He sent so of his minions, but in the end they failed, since he later discovered that Ciri had fled with Madara. This frustrated him. Still, he attended the eting between kings and sorcerers, all wanting to unite against Nilfgaard now that they had taken Cintra; no one could ignore it anymore. It was at that mont that they focused all their efforts on the battle of Sodden Hill.

Later, Madara appeared at the camp before the battle. He wanted to know where the girl was, and as he was alone, he was the only one who had information about her true whereabouts. Vilgefortz convinced everyone that he too sought the child, since many had grown greedy to have the royal lineage of Cintra under their control. They even tried to pressure Madara.

That was Vilgefortz's greatest mistake, for he was so blinded by the desire for the power of the elder blood that he didn't even notice the true strength of the Uchiha. Madara's power was far beyond what anyone could imagine, and he paid dearly for it, nearly dying.

He survived by little when he was attacked by the boy, using magical artifacts in one of his hideouts to sustain his life, remaining in a coma for months. And the price was high: he beca only a shadow of what he once was. All that was left to him was to act from the shadows, offering knowledge and rewards to other sorcerers who would aid him in his sches.

That was how he discovered that one day he could recover his strength. And that was what brought him to that lair. Now, being so close to reaching the Sunstone, he could begin the ritual that would regenerate him, allowing him to return to his forr self. Not only to deal with the child of destiny, but also to face Madara once again — whose power had impressed him even more when he heard the accounts of the war, months after his recovery.

A power capable of destroying entire armies, of bringing both the North and the South to their knees. That was what he longed for so much, that was the power he sought.

Even so, he underestimated his adversary. After Madara began hunting his allies and obtaining information that he was still alive, Vilgefortz's sches began to crumble. One by one, all who followed him fell, proving it would not be so easy to deal with the Uchiha.

That was his mistake. Had he tried to recover gradually, in the shadows, he would have managed to reach the Stone. But his hatred had taken over his actions. He wanted revenge against that boy more than anything else. That is why he did everything he could to try to harm him along with those he knew.

Now, there he was, ready to die, while Madara stared at him, searching not only through his mories but also his secrets. All his knowledge began to be read as the Uchiha delved into his mind.

Vilgefortz felt like an open book at that mont. It was frustrating, infuriating, but he knew he could do nothing. Only let the boy finish before killing him.

In the end, Vilgefortz would be nothing more than a passing na in the history of the continent. He never could have imagined that the great evil he had beco would fall before a fifteen-year-old boy at the ti.

And now, three years later, he would die.
