The Wolfless Luna's Revenge: Returning With His Secret Twins Chapter 216
[DIANA’s Point of View]
“Devon! Where have you been!”
I was surprised when my twin brother entered the room with Uncle Liam marching angrily behind him. Devon’s eyes were dark and looked upset as well, and I was so confused about what was happening.
“I thought you were just going to the bathroom when you woke up,” I said to him in surprise as I watched Devon slump on the edge of his bed with Uncle Liam glaring down at him. I got scared of what was happening, so I asked, “What is happening, Uncle Liam? Did Devon do sothing stupid again?”
“Don’t talk like that, Diana! I am still two minutes older than you.” Devon scowled at .
I was shocked at Devon’s response to , and I felt like crying because my feelings were hurt. But then I scowled at him too and curled my hands into fists and rested them on my hips. Now it was Uncle Liam and glaring down at him, and Devon’s upset face slowly changed into a scared puppy.
"What is the matter with both of you?" Devon groaned as he looked down, unable to look at our faces.
“That is the question I should be asking, Devon!” Uncle Liam said. His voice was enraged, but there was still gentleness in it. “What are you doing in the dungeon? What made you think it was a good idea to go there alone?”
My eyes widened in shock, and my mouth gaped. “What!? He said to he is just going to the bathroom, Uncle!”
“I don’t think he just went to the bathroom, Diana. Your silly brother went to the cell of the Phantom Lady, and he doesn’t know how dangerous that is! I didn’t know what he was thinking or why he went there, though. Your Mom and Dad made it clear that you can’t go anywhere near the dungeons, especially after both of you had almost died there!”
Wait, why did I suddenly get involved in this?!
Devon panicked. “I don’t know what happened! I was sleeping! And when I woke up, I was already in front of the Phantom Lady’s glass cell!” Devon explained with teary eyes, and I could tell he was saying the truth to us, so I looked up at Uncle Liam. He looked down at , too, as if trying to confirm if my twin was telling the truth, and I gave him a slight nod.
Uncle Liam sighed heavily as he closed his eyes and lifted his face to the ceiling. He was like that for seconds until he decided to look down again at my brother. He appeared calr and gentler when he crouched down and held my brother on both of his shoulders, forcing Devon to look him in the eyes.
“You scared to death, Devon, you know that, kid?” Uncle Liam was full of worry as he sighed, “Are you saying you sleepwalked to the dungeon? What happened? Are you alright? Did sothing happen?”
I felt scared for my twin brother when I saw the fear in his eyes, but then he briefly closed his eyes and looked at Uncle Liam with a steady gaze, saying, “No, nothing happened, Uncle Liam.” I am really sorry about what I did. It will never happen again.”
My brother was definitely lying this ti.
“Okay, if you say so, Devon.” Uncle Liam sighed once again, looking so stressed as he dragged his hands down his face. He looked at the door and then back at my brother and , smiling despite the exhaustion in his eyes. “I’ll go back and check the Gamma team for new updates in their patrols. "Just stay in your room and avoid doing anything dangerous, do you understand?"
“Yes, Uncle Liam.” Devon and I sat in chorus, and I didn’t even know why I was involved in Devon’s mischievous sneakiness. I was pissed I shot devon and angry glare and he averted his eyes from so fast he almost broke his neck.
“You lied, Devon!” I said to him once Uncle Liam was out of the room and was far enough not to hear both of us. “What really happened here? Why did you go to that dungeon?! Mom and Dad were clear when they both warned us about it!”
“I know!” Devon stood up from the bed, throwing his arms in frustration. “It’s just these weird dreams I’ve been having... they are ssing with my head, Diana.”
Devon had told about this before. The weird pictures in his head had been keeping him awake at night. He told it was a small little girl that kept on appearing in his dreams and was being haunted by the dark spirits that surrounded her. The little girl scread and pleaded for help, but no one ca for her. No one helped. She was forever stuck in that nightmare, always alone in a corner and covering her ears from the voices in her head.
Both of us almost jumped when we heard sothing from up on the ceiling. Mom told us there was an attic up there and we weren’t allowed to go because that space was only used as a stockroom for Grandma’s stuff when she was still alive. My twin brother looked at with curiosity in his eyes and then I glared at him because I knew what he was thinking.
“NO!”
“Diana! We have to look!”
“Mom and Dad said we only stay in here when they are not around, Devon! We have to listen! You have already caused a lot of trouble for Uncle Liam, and I will not allow you to do anything foolish again!
“But there could be sothing intriguing in there, Diana! There could be sothing in there. You hear that? It sounds like sothing is running in the attic!”
“Nope!” I said to him; my brows deepened more, and I started to panic when Devon refused to listen. He went to the button where the automatic staircase descends to open the door to the attic.
“Devon!
Oh, Mom and Dad, forgive ! I did my best to stop him!
Devon pushed the button in the staircase. It didn’t completely go down yet when he hopped on it, which widened my eyes in horror! Goodness sake! I swear to the Moon Goddess, if sothing weird was living in that place, Devon would be the first to be devoured, and I would never help him!
“Diana! Co see this!”
“No! I told you not to go there, Devon! Why don’t you just listen to us! You are putting yourself in danger!” I hissed at him, peeking from downstairs because it was so dark in the attic, and even with the werewolf’s eyes, I was still too scared of the darkness.
“You have to see this!”
My breath started to go fast. Was I hyperventilating? Devon was causing too much anxiety and I wish I could just throw anything at his head so he would just stop putting us both into trouble always.
However, I had no choice but to go up, so I climbed the staircase and looked into the attic, which was pitch dark at first until my eyes adjusted to the darkness.
The room was filled with my boxes of Grandma’s things, which made sad because I missed her so much, as awful as how Mom missed her too.
It didn’t take long and Devon was already running toward with a notebook in his hand. I took it from him as soon as I saw that stupid smile on his face as he said, “I think it’s another Diary of Grandma’s.
I looked down and flipped the pages with urgency. Devon and I were good and fast readers for our age, and my attention was caught when I saw a sketch of a giant silver wolf that looked just like Dad’s, which surprised .
“What do you think this is about?” Devon asked; his curiosity also made him a little hyped. “Do you think Mom and Dad should see this?”
“What do you an? We have nothing to contact them. We don’t have a mobile phone.” I frowned at him, still figuring out what that picture was about.
The giant silver wolf was lying close to an arch gate and there was a picture that looked like a spring inside that gate. My heart started to race in my chest and my instinct told that we had to tell this all to Mom and Dad. But how? The last ti we asked our babysitter about them, Madison said Mom and Dad went to sothing important.
That ant they both weren’t in the pack manor, which worried most.
Devon smiled at as he gave a mischievous grin. He took sothing from the back pocket of his shorts and showed a mobile phone, which made my eyes widen in surprise.
“Where did you get that, Devon!? Is that Uncle Liams?!”
“Yeah,” he answered as he unlocked it, which made amazed and dizzy at the sa ti. “It’s not hard to know the pin, though. It’s just Madison’s birthday.”
I rolled my eyes at him. “You are so dead when Dad finds out what you had been doing here, Devon.”
“Only if you tell him,” he smiled so wide that all his teeth were shown at .
Devon took a picture of the page that had a giant wolf. I looked down at the text and it said:
“Only primordials can ta the giant beast. Only the ones from the Royal Clan can make this creature fall and bend down on their knees.”
“What does that an?” Devon asked as soon as he pressed the send button to Dad’s number.
“I have no idea.” I said and then looked at him, “All I know is that my wolf is telling that our parents need this.” I sighed and then tucked the small notebook in my armpit and then raised an eyebrow at Devon. “So tell what you did in the dungeon, Devon?”
“Like I told you, I am not really sure, Diana. All I knew was that I was dreaming about helping a little girl. I had to get her out of that small cage she was locked in.”
I felt the dread started to crawl from my chest and my eyes widened in horror at what I heard from Devon as soon as I realized what he ant about it.
“Oh, Devon... what did you do?!”
