After I told my mother about my plan for the academy—and how it wouldn’t just stop there, but eventually spread its influence across the entire kingdom—she listened to far more seriously than I had expected. I laid everything out clearly, step by step, explaining not only what I wanted to do, but why it mattered. When I finished, she didn’t imdiately respond. Instead, she sat there quietly, thinking it through.
Then she smiled.
She agreed to help . Not half-heartedly, not with conditions attached, but openly and sincerely. She supported the idea, and more importantly, she supported .
With that, I had gained her backing.
That alone should have made things easier, but I knew better than to relax just yet.
There was still one more person whose support I absolutely needed—the Commander.
And unlike my mother, dealing with her was never simple.
To put it lightly, we didn’t get along. Our personalities clashed more often than not, and every interaction I’d had with her so far left with the sa impression. She carried herself like she was always standing above everyone else. Confident to the point of arrogance, sharp-tongued, and fully aware of her own authority.
Because of that, I couldn’t help but feel that having a proper, productive conversation with her would be difficult. She didn’t seem like the type to listen easily, especially to soone younger than her, even if that soone was a princess.
Still, I wasn’t foolish enough to underestimate her.
She was incredibly smart. That much was undeniable. Sharp-minded, experienced, and perceptive. If anyone could understand the implications of my plan, it would be her.
Understanding it, however, didn’t an she would agree with it.
And that was the hard part.
The Commander’s office was located near the main castle, close enough that its presence alone carried weight. It wasn’t just another room. It was the office of the kingdom’s commanding officer.
Two magic knights stood guard outside, their posture rigid and disciplined.
The mont they noticed approaching, both of them imdiately straightened and bowed deeply.
Without questioning my purpose or asking for identification, they moved in perfect sync to open the door for .
I stepped inside.
The corridor beyond was quiet and almost solemn. Paintings lined the walls, which were portraits of previous commanders, each one staring forward with expressions ranging from stern to battle-hardened. Their gazes followed as I walked.
I stopped in front of the door leading to the Commander’s private office and knocked.
"Co in," a voice from the other side said.
I opened the door.
What greeted was not at all what I had expected.
The Commander was lying face down on a massage table, her stomach pressed firmly against it. A masseuse stood behind her, working skillfully along her back. From the way her shoulders loosened and the faint sounds she made, it was obvious she was enjoying herself.
She was completely naked.
Her breasts were pressed against the surface of the table, slightly flattened by her position, and her cheeks were flushed with a soft, visible blush. There was no tension in her body. Only relaxation.
"Oh, Princess Myrcella!" she said, lifting her head slightly to look at . "This is quite the surprise. I didn’t expect a visit from royalty today."
She smiled lazily.
"To what do I owe the pleasure of you coming all this way and gracing my humble abode with your presence?" she asked.
"I can co back later if you’re still busy," I said honestly.
She was clearly in the middle of a break, and barging in during her rest didn’t sit right with . The last thing I wanted was to start this conversation on the wrong foot.
"It’s fine," she replied easily. "Besides, I could always call another masseuse for you as well. I imagine you’re exhausted. It hasn’t even been that long since the King’s passing."
"No, thank you for the offer," I said.
"I see..."
She snapped her fingers once.
Imdiately, the masseuse stopped what she was doing, bowed slightly, and left the room without a word. The door closed quietly behind her.
The Commander shifted on the table, pushing herself up from her prone position before standing fully upright.
Her skin was flawless, unmarked, and smooth. While her breasts were only slightly above average in size, they were firm and well-shaped, standing naturally in a way that made it difficult to look away.
Her body was immaculate.
Perfect enough that I felt a brief, unwanted pang of jealousy as a woman.
It was the kind of body I was certain Leon would enjoy.
She reached for a bathrobe nearby and slipped it on, tying it around herself with practiced ease until her body was completely covered.
"Now then, Princess Myrcella," she said, her tone shifting. "We can talk properly."
She turned her attention fully to .
"What exactly brings you straight to my office?"
I didn’t bother wasting ti.
I told her my plan. All of it. My plan for academy, its purpose, and how it would eventually strengthen not just the magic knights, but the kingdom as a whole.
When I finished, she didn’t respond right away.
She simply looked at .
Seconds passed.
Then, slowly, a smile crept across her face. Not a warm one, but a mischievous, knowing smile.
"Fufufu... that’s certainly an interesting reform," she said. "And coming from the princess herself, no less."
She chuckled softly.
"As expected of soone from the Milham royal family. You people really are capable."
"Are you okay with this, Commander Lilia?" I asked. "I truly believe this would help the magic knights overall. And it would bring in additional revenue as well."
"Do you really think I’m doing this for the money?" she replied, raising an eyebrow. "You don’t trust very much, do you?"
Her tone suggested she was joking, but I couldn’t tell how much of it was an act.
"Well, I don’t need the money," she continued. "And honestly, the current magic knights are doing just fine. They don’t need a sudden increase in numbers."
She crossed her arms.
"Of course, growth is important," she added. "But we’re not in the middle of a war."
She wasn’t wrong.
There was no active war at the mont—nothing that directly threatened the kingdom.
But that didn’t an we were safe.
We had been attacked before.
And the damage from those attacks was sothing I couldn’t forget.
"You don’t need to worry about that republic, Princess," she said confidently. "They won’t attack anyti soon. And even if they did, we have more than enough firepower to drive them away."
She sounded completely certain.
Too certain.
That kind of complacency was exactly what had left us vulnerable in the past.
If this mindset continued, the kingdom wouldn’t stay safe for long.
"What you’re asking of ..." she said after a pause, tilting her head slightly. "How should I put this?"
She smiled again.
"I was intrigued. Even delighted. But at the sa ti, I don’t really see what I gain from it."
Her words were casual, almost lighthearted, but they irritated more than I wanted to admit. I could feel frustration rising, but I forced it down.
"So," she finished, her smile widening just a little, "why should I do it?"
My fists clenched slightly at my sides.
After all, I couldn’t overpower her.
