I stared at the potion in my hand for a few seconds longer than I probably should have.
The liquid inside the vial shimred faintly whenever it caught the light, swirling slowly like it had a mind of its own. Honestly, the thing looked way too suspicious for sothing she casually called "safe." Potions in this world either solved your problems or gave you brand new ones. Sotis both, if the universe was feeling creative that day.
A little apprehension crept into as I continued looking at it.
After all, I had no clue what kind of effect this thing would actually have on Layla.
"You really don’t have to look so cautious about it," she said with a small laugh. "This potion has already been proven and tested."
That did not make it sound less suspicious.
People in this world would call sothing "tested" after one guy survived drinking it and only exploded a little.
"You’ve heard of rmaids before, right?" she continued.
"Obviously," I replied.
"Although rmaids can still technically have sex with other races since they still possess the proper functions for it, they can’t really do things the way they want to because they don’t have legs. At best, they can simply receive it."
Her tone stayed calm and matter-of-fact, like she was discussing weather instead of explaining the logistics of rmaid sex.
Honestly, I was starting to get used to conversations like this around her.
"But rmaids have used potions like these for a very long ti in order to hunt n," she continued. "They’re known for seducing n, having sex with them to produce offspring, and then drowning them in the ocean afterward."
She paused briefly.
"Pretty cruel, honestly."
"Yeah, I’d say murdering people after sex qualifies as pretty cruel," I replied.
A small smile appeared on her face before she continued talking.
"But they use these potions so they can properly walk on land. It allows them to interact with humans more naturally."
"So basically, this thing turns the lower half of soone’s body into sothing more human?" I asked.
"Exactly," she answered with a nod.
The explanation itself made sense.
The problem was Layla.
Layla was gigantic.
That was the issue here.
She wasn’t so fish-tailed beauty trying to grow legs. She was simply enormous. Massive felt like an understatent at this point. Standing next to her felt like standing near a moving building sotis. You couldn’t casually ignore that sort of size difference unless you had a death wish or extrely questionable confidence.
Apparently, my thoughts were written all over my face because she imdiately noticed.
"I know what you’re thinking," she said. "You’re wondering how this could possibly work when the potion was originally ant for creatures without legs."
"Well, yeah," I admitted.
"But that’s the interesting part about this potion, Leon," she said while lightly tapping the side of the vial with her finger. "Its magic isn’t limited to just growing legs. It adapts the body of the person drinking it according to their desire."
I raised an eyebrow slightly.
"It allows beings who desire sex to gain the capability to properly do it with the person they wish to mate with. In simple terms, the drinker’s body changes into a form compatible with their partner."
That explanation actually made things click in my head almost imdiately.
So that was how it worked.
If soone like a rmaid or a lamia drank it, they would gain legs because their original bodies weren’t suitable for properly doing it with humans. Or at least, that’s the reason. I didn’t mind it though if I was having sex with soone with a snake tail. In fact, I already had sex with a Centaur before. I think nothing was going to bother .
anwhile, if soone had a body too large or too unusual for their partner, the potion would alter them accordingly.
Honestly, that was kind of insane.
Magic really just solved problems people were way too dedicated to fixing.
"I still can’t believe sothing like this exists," I muttered.
"It’s fairly popular among certain races," she replied casually.
The way she said that sohow made it even more concerning.
"If you want, you could probably enjoy rmaids to the fullest with this potion," she added.
The way she casually said enjoy rmaids sounded way too loaded.
"Although," she continued, "you can still have sex with them even while they’re in their fish form. From what I’ve heard, once they’re being fucked, they tend to wrap their legs around their partners and refuse to let go."
The suggestive comnt finally arrived right on schedule.
Honestly, she sounded suspiciously inford about this topic. At this point, I wouldn’t even be surprised if she had spent hours researching weird interracial fantasy relationships out of pure curiosity.
"Well," I said with a dry sigh, "I’ll keep that information in mind for the future."
"Good," she replied imdiately.
Way too fast.
A tiny part of was beginning to think she actually wanted to try it soday just so she could hear about the results afterward. That was sohow more terrifying than the potion itself.
Still, if this potion really worked the way she described, then using it with Layla might actually be possible.
While I was still processing that thought, a low rumble suddenly traveled through the floor beneath my feet.
The room trembled slightly.
Dust shifted near the corners of the ceiling.
"Oh," Solaris said casually, "looks like soone’s here."
She really didn’t need to explain who it was.
The ground itself had already done the introduction for her.
Very few people could make an entrance before even entering the room. Layla could probably do it too, but this particular set of footsteps had a different rhythm to them. Heavy, steady, and impossible to ignore.
A few monts later, the door opened. And it was soone other than the person I was expecting to see. Well, it wasn’t like I was expecting Layla to co in through the door. That would have been impossible.
"Good to see you, Leon," she said.
Kali stepped into the room.
She was tall. Extrely tall, honestly. Long white hair flowed down her back, and her figure was impossible to miss, especially with how confidently she carried herself. Still, none of those things were the first thing people noticed about her.
The lower half of her body was that of a horse.
A full centaur.
"Good," Solaris said with a satisfied smile. "Looks like all the major players are finally here, Leon."
That sentence imdiately made suspicious.
"What exactly is going on?" I asked.
"Amon told sothing rather interesting," Solaris replied.
I narrowed my eyes slightly.
"That already sounds dangerous."
She ignored the comnt completely.
"Apparently, you seem to have developed a very arousing interest in big girls."
"I absolutely did not phrase it like that," I said imdiately.
Kali let out a quiet laugh while Solaris smiled like she had already won the conversation before it even started.
"Well, whether you said it directly or not, she noticed," Solaris replied. "And honestly, as soone who loves you very much, I think you deserve a reward."
That wording sohow sounded more threatening than comforting.
She crossed her arms beneath her chest while looking at with a calm expression.
"You’ve been exhausted lately," she continued. "The constant developnts within the Milham Kingdom have kept piling up one after another. Then there are the other problems slowly gathering on the horizon as well."
Her voice softened slightly near the end.
"At this point, I think you deserve a proper rest."
