She stood there opposite him, wrapped tightly in a bedsheet, her hair disheveled and batting her innocent eyes.
After he was montarily stunned, a smile flickered across his eyes.
"Awake?"
He said, walking over, and added,
"Why did you co to the doorway?"
Su Yan’s voice was weak and soft,
"Hungry."
She hadn’t eaten for a day and a night and was utterly famished.
He didn’t say anything, just scooped her up in his arms and carried her to a seat.
After placing her in the seat, he casually pulled up the bedsheet that was sliding off and wrapped her tightly again.
Only then did he say,
"Nantang, prepare so food."
"Yes, Your Highness."
Nantang respectfully acquiesced and then left.
In the chamber, only Su Yan and Xuanyuan Yonghao remained.
Su Yan wasn’t like before; this ti, she gazed longingly at Xuanyuan Yonghao.
As if she was about to bore a hole right through him with her stare.
He looked down, eting Su Yan’s gaze.
"What are you looking at for?"
Su Yan’s gaze dodged for a mont,
"Nothing, nothing," she said softly.
Xuanyuan Yonghao heard this and raised an eyebrow.
Out of the blue, he asked,
"You’ve had a sleep, it seems like you’re almost recovered."
Su Yan gave him a puzzled look.
Following that, she heard him say,
"Let’s calculate how many things of mine you destroyed this afternoon."
Su Yan fell silent, her eyes brimming with water.
Xuanyuan Yonghao didn’t intend to let this pass so easily.
His eyes dark, he looked at her, the corners of his lips faintly curling into a smile,
"Do you still rember what all you destroyed before you went to sleep?"
Su Yan thought hard and carefully,
"The guest room’s bed, the door, the marble floor, the desk, ..." she listed them slowly.
After a while, she stopped,
"That’s all."
"Really?"
"Mmm."
"Was it you who killed Qiu Shi?"
Su Yan licked her lips, hesitated for a mont, then nodded.
Seeing her honesty, a glint of amusent flashed in his eyes.
Then he turned his head, gesturing to a wound on his neck,
"Did you bite this?"
One could see the scab on Xuanyuan Yonghao’s neck where she had bitten him, already treated with dicine.
But by the looks of the grueso mark, it was clear that her bite had been ruthless at the ti.
Just as she was about to nod, Xuanyuan Yonghao leaned closer to her.
His voice was gentle,
"Daring to harm the Royal Family, one would lose their head for that."
As he spoke, Xuanyuan Yonghao lifted his hand and pointed at her head.
Su Yan wilted at his words, intending to explain,
"I—I just bit you..."
"...never ant to hurt you..."
But before she could finish, Xuanyuan Yonghao nodded,
"We’ll consider that matter separately. First, you killed my Maid, then you destroyed my guest room; tell , how much patterned silver should you compensate?"
His tone casual, yet pressing her relentlessly.
Su Yan looked even more dejected; she had no money.
She couldn’t afford to compensate any amount.
Perhaps it was the fact she hadn’t eaten, but she looked incredibly weak, and with that drooping look, she appeared rather pitiable.
At that mont, the Maid had already brought the steaming als to the table.
One dish after another, delicate and delicious.
Xuanyuan Yonghao spoke out,
"Do you still rember the wallet I asked you to embroider?"
"I rember."
"Seven days later, if what I see is satisfactory, we’ll consider this matter closed. But if the embroidery displeases ... we will settle both new and old debts together."
Upon hearing this, Su Yan, who had been withering, suddenly perked up.
She nodded quickly,
"Alright."
With that, he held her, curved his lips, and said in a relaxed tone,
"Aren’t you hungry?"
"Mmm."
"Eat."
At his words, the gleam in Su Yan’s eyes shone even more brightly.
