He escorted Su Yan all the way to the house she was renting.
And then he left.
Su Yan was tutoring Ji Xingyu, but not every day.
Three days a week, two hours each session.
Settled weekly.
Today’s session was the third one this week.
Logically, she wouldn’t see Ji Xingyu for the remainder of the week.
But, on the third day,
Early in the morning, she received a call from Ji Xingyu.
When she answered the phone, Su Yan had just woken up.
So her voice was warm and slightly confused during the conversation.
"Hello?"
The voice on the other end was very anxious.
"Teacher, do you still have that milk candy from last ti?"
"Hmm?"
Su Yan was puzzled.
Ji Xingyu’s tone grew more anxious
"Teacher, I’ve already sent a driver to the downstairs of your building, could you please co over, and bring that milk candy you gave my brother last ti."
When Su Yan heard Ji Xingyu ntion Ji Yan, she finally woke up a bit.
Then she replied
"Okay"
Following that, she got dressed and got out of bed.
After a quick wash, she walked out of her ho and saw a black Audi parked at the door.
She opened the car door and got in.
Twenty minutes later, she appeared again in that villa.
Ji Xingyu had been standing at the door, watching Su Yan alight from the car.
A flash of joy crossed his eyes, he approached Su Yan and asked
"Teacher, did you bring the candy?"
Su Yan dug into her pocket and took out a piece of Strawberry Milk Candy.
"This one?"
Seeing this, Ji Xingyu finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Following that, he reached out to take the candy and hurriedly walked into the villa.
Su Yan followed behind him and also went inside.
Ji Xingyu walked into that room and approached the bedside.
Ji Yan was deeply asleep.
He carefully placed the Strawberry Milk Candy near Ji Yan’s pillow.
He didn’t dare to breathe heavily, then slowly paced back out.
Only after Ji Xingyu reached the living room did he relax.
Doctor Zhang, the psychologist, had been standing by the door. Since Su Yan ca in, his attention had been on her.
But he didn’t approach to strike up a conversation.
Su Yan spoke up and asked
"What’s wrong with Ji Yan?"
Ji Xingyu tugged on his shirt and plopped down on the leather sofa.
The expression on his face was much more relaxed compared to earlier.
He scratched his head,
"This morning, I wanted to talk to my brother, but he did not wake up because he took so sleeping pills last night.
When I left the room, I saw a candy by his pillow. That candy had been there for three days, and I thought he didn’t want it, so I ate it."
Ji Yan has never liked sweets and due to long-term dication, he prefers a bland taste.
Seeing the candy at his bedside, he thought his brother didn’t like it and casually ate it.
Just after he finished the candy, Ji Yan woke up.
The first thing he did upon waking was not to greet Ji Xingyu, but instinctively reached towards the pillow.
Seeing his brother’s action, Ji Xingyu imdiately had a bad feeling.
But strangely, Ji Yan just paused for a mont, said nothing, and just sat on the bed staring blankly.
With a pale complexion, wearing a hospital gown, his eyes drooping, exuding a sense of frailty.
As Ji Xingyu was puzzled, Doctor Zhang rushed in.
Then he spoke a few words to Ji Yan, had him take a few sleeping pills, and then he went to sleep.
As soon as Ji Yan fell asleep, Doctor Zhang’s expression turned grave as he insisted on finding the exact sa kind of candy.
